      @@LawVenture I also have a few videos on my channel about starting a solo law practice & said the same thing as you-- first step is to look at your finances, have $$ saved up, and see how much you need. A virtual office didn't work for me-- I did that for a few months when I was in between office space. Looks like we do different practice areas though. :)

    Appreciate it brother! I'm hoping to get licensed myself at the year's end, and I plan on doing exactly this: starting my own firm and building something great. Really appreciate you sharing the knowledge and being as transparent as you were. It definitely helps the new lawyers/grads/students on the block! I look forward to watching more content on this kinda stuff!

    Really nice video. I’ve been a lifer in the practice of law. I do approach overhead differently. I have Westlaw and about five other software providers-lawyaw-casetext-efiling and malpractice insurance. My overhead before I bring in a penny for myself is about 2500 per month. I tried with and without malpractice insurance over the years. Not sure which I prefer as I have never had a claim. Your disciplined approach is a sure fire winner.

      I appreciate it! Not going to lie... there are times that I miss the convenience of Westlaw. I haven't made a video about it yet, but I've been using a mix of Google Scholar and another free service (provided through the Texas bar) for legal research. It's not as efficient as Westlaw, but it's been doing the trick thus far *crosses fingers*

      In NC, the voluntary state bar association has something similar for free. Also try Gilsbar Pro/CNA for cheaper legal malpractice insurance. I saved about $1k a month switching to them.

      I think Westlaw or a competitor would give you a free account because of your social media reach. They’d probably offer a discount to your followers. I use your youthful energy to brush up on my evidence skills and remind me of what younger people face in law. I think some products make you money and save on drafting etc. Also if any of your cases go to trial, it really demands that your efficiency is solid so as not to fall too far behind.

    Thank you for this video. Would you share your strategy on how to get doctors to refer you clients?

    • @LawVenture
      @LawVenture  Pƙed rokem

      I actually have a 24-minute video that breaks down how I turn doctors into referral sources! The video is in my online course, the PI Playbook. Since people paid for this video, it wouldn’t be fair for me to share for free. But you can learn more about the course by going here: lawventure.com/personal-injury-playbook-2/
