Hey man, my cats on my 2004 g35 sedan are getting clogged so I need to replace them possibly with test pipes which are cheaper however I live in Georgia and we do emissions testing in my area. If you put these on will a check engine light pop up and will my car not pass emissions?
Hey Matten. If Georgia is anything like California, We have a visual and emissions test that we have to pass. Though these test pipes did not trigger a CEL on the Cluster, They are not street legal and will fail both visual and emissions when you go to get tested.
@@Boyct23 Surprisingly not! It seems that the down stream o2 sensors are recessed far enough back in the bung that hardly any gasses reaches it which allows it to trick the ecu/ecm into believing there is still a catalytic converter. I drove this way over 300 miles before putting cats back on and never a CEL.
Let me give u a hit on the smell keep on mind this test pipes run hot and we all know Infinitis leak or burn oil or there is oil by the valves cover the best thing to do is to is paint the pipes with ceramic exhaust paint and no more smell same thing goes for the headers 👍🏼👍🏼
I don't unfortunately. But having just been a welded on muffler, It sounded pretty nice with its deep tone and minimal rasp. I currently have a megan y-pipe back exhaust that I will do a sock comparison in the near future. If you are interested, stay tuned into the channel. Thanks!
Nope. The down stream o2 sensors hardly stick into the exhaust stream which tricks the ecu into thinking that you still have Cats as it compares upstream to down stream and the differences between their readings.
Yep yep. Over a year later and still running. Even took it to the drag strip. Maybe one day the valve will break off, but I find it easier to replace the engine rather than do the work involved in replacing the valve shim.
Should of spent money on new lifters… sounds like shit man.. I can hear the engine noise over your exhaust… and the camera is sitting on the ground behind the tailpipe… that’s horrible…
Keep these videos up. I look we to following u on the journey. I'm in Holland checking this out
That's crazy! I hope the car culture out there is something you enjoy.
Test pipes on my SR Free up a lot of power. Only reason why I put up with the smell.
nice! 💓

Salvage Performance so you didn’t get any check engine light on?

It depends on what part of Georgia you are in, like Macon ga doesn't Require emissions To even have your car registered if you live in that area

Nice tip!
It makes scenes and I will have to try that out on my current setup.
I may even make a video on it.
@@salvageperformance5170 did u do a video on it ?
@@charger6773 Not yet. I have a pair of used DC headers that have been sitting on the shelf. I plan on respraying those when I get a chance.
Have the link for borla muffler ?

Lol, yes! The JB weld held for about 2 months before I starter to hear a hissing noise from them. Do not JB weld these things.
