" We understand the nationalism of each of the separate states of Africa. We understand the similar ambitions of the various nations and national groups at present within our own boundaries. And because of our own experience, we not only understand their ambitions, but would also wish to help lead them to fulfilment in the right way so that it can be an achievement not only for the selected few, a dictator or two, but for the masses, for their progress and their happiness. " - Hendrik Verwoerd

let's imagine it was possible for humans to see into the future. Now let's imagine that Mr Verwoerd and other National Party leaders could see that blacks would one day be in charge of South Africa. Do you believe they still would have pursued the apartheid policies? If so, why? If not, what do you think they might have done differently?

This man could have reestablished a Boer republic or created a new one and saved the Afrikaner people. But instead, he continued the Union under a new name and brought Apartheid. Apartheid could have worked if the blacks were given more land and the Free State was reestablished. His choices will affect South Africa for generations.

The real problem is some people can create prosperity and some cant. We should start that discussion now. Weve seen what happens in 25 years. How much longer must we wait to get the message.

You must remember during the National Party leadership election of 1978 it was a tight race between PW Botha who was supported by the Business/Academic class and Connie Mulder who was the leader of the Verwoerdian faction of the NP. In the 1978 race Mulder lost to Botha by a mere 78-72 vote. If the Vekrampts remained 100% together in the NP and didnt begin to split off into the HNP in 1969 then their is a good chance that Connie Mulder and Andries Treurnicht could have taken back the NP.

Each and every individual who was born in Africa is important to South Africa, tribalism is as good as Apartheid, you can't say Zulus and Xhosas are important tribes as if the Tswanas, The Pedis, the Vendas are not important. We are all important and there is no lesser tribe and there is no important tribe.
We should all UNITE to improve the conditions, the life of South Africans, and we should now spread Economy to cover everyone in South Africa and we should accelerate that!

    • @etiennemarais3750
      @etiennemarais3750 Před 3 lety +4

An extract from Gerard Ludi’s “The Communistisation of the ANC”. In a time when racial segregation was normal and not enforced by law, Dr Verwoerd had this to say:
Not anymore, we have this wonderful opportunity to create a truly, just, peaceful federation of many peoples. Multiracialism just leads to the Brazilian model. It is like a certain type of chocolate cake. There is a thick layer of dark brown at the bottom, with a thin layer of coffee coloured cream above that. Then the cake is topped with pure white cream. That is how the various colour groups end up in a multiracial society. The dark people are always at the bottom, lorded over by the light skinned coloureds, while all of them are lorded over by the whites.
I want to end this injustice once and for all. I am going to remove the discrimination and the tensions these injustices cause by separating race groups into their own living spheres. I want to artificially create a class of skilled black workers, traders, businessmen and leaders. I want them to be ruled by their own tribal leaders, their laws enforced by their own black policemen and their children to be educated by their own black schools with black teachers and principals.
I want to protect the coloureds from unfair competition by white and Indian shopkeepers and traders and from rich white and Indian boys from competing with them for their pretty girls. I want to see coloured politicians leading them, coloured policemen keeping their streets safe and coloured judges sending their coloured criminals to coloured jails. And I want to see the same happening in the Indian community.
I want the whites to get off their butts. We need a white class of labourers. People who go out into the fields to do the hard manual work. I want to see white street sweepers. I want to see a new nation of whites who do not expect the dark people to do their dirty work or to wait on them hand and foot just because of the colour of their skin.
Racial intolerance is worst at the lower classes where poor people and those of limited education compete for scarce jobs and resources. Such people have to be totally segregated at all costs. It is a price we have to pay for the common good. Once this is done, there is no harm in integrating the upper classes. In the upper classes there is more racial tolerance. These people will be able to get on with each other but only once we have created a genuine black, Indian and coloured upper class. This takes time and one has to be patient before entering that phase.

    1. Allowing blacks to vote for their own leaders
    2. Providing blacks with education that incomparable to the shitty (or no) education that they had before Apartheid.
    3. Pass laws stopped different ethnic groups from killing each other. (yes they did)
    4. No oppression whatsoever. Blacks were allowed to develop at their own rate.
    5. The Bantu-education brought up many doctors, laywers etc.

Even so, Apartheid built thousands of schools, 10 universities, the largest hospital in the Southern hemisphere and infrastructure for blacks, the majority of whom did not pay tax. You don't need to force segregation, as a fellow SA you know things just 'happen' as they happen, people move into communities where they feel they belong, whatever. I think they took something stupid, like segregation, and made a moerse deal out of it, and people died because of this moerse "issue" :(

Dude don't sweat it, I was born before the end of Apartheid (1984), and yeah, my dad was a farmer (boer), his dad was a farmer (boer) and HIS dad was a farmer (boer) ,ACTUAL Boers, not these make believe poser motherfuckers, he studied law, came back to the farm when things went bad (drought) he actually read and studied Buthulezis books, and Mandelas, and eventually carried an ANC card! I remember, I was little then. He always said a Zulu had to be in charge of SA, LOL, he never lived to see Zuma hahaha XD.
I am personally actually more conservative than he was, I am right wing, there aren't really parties in politics I want to vote for, but I have to appreciate that those were great minds who helped shape us what we are all today. I've got my own views on SA, but I've got to say, especially to these fellow piece of shit White trash talking internet warriors undeserving of calling themselves "Afrikaners", that if it weren't for Madiba, you'd have a REAL genocide on your hands.
Try and think Sierra Leone you stupid uneducated idiots.
      But...
What's happening to South African farmers IS fucked up though, I think its not a case of willful, systematic termination, but more a case of gross mismanagement in the face of crime and easy targets, I think it can be managed, but gov is just fucking things up badly on the rural playing fields. They need to acknowledge it, and move the hell on and come up with solutions.

Secondly, the Homeland policy was actually heavily advanced by Vorster and MC Botha in the 1970s.
However, the policy of Separate Development was basically abandoned by PW Botha, and his Capitalist crew who took over the Nasionale Party. Turning the Nasionale Party from the Party of the Volk, to the Party of the soulless Businessman, who inevitably sold the Whites out.

Can't take their kids to study further? Can't buy things they need to improve quality of their lives? Can't have justice on them? SA's Economy was not including Blacks, therefore they were as good as unemployed.

    1. No right to vote for Africans
    2. Education was incomparable betweeen Whites and Africans.
    3. Pass laws removed freedom of movement in OUR land!
    4. Bantustans was another system to depress and oppress Africans as they were dependent to SA

Problem is we still have English speakers, those that want to return to how things were under the Afrikaner government & the Boers who want what the British took from them. These groups will always conflict with each other so brings alot to the table to talk about. BTW many of those poor whites are infact Boer descendants & have always been the poorer segment.

It is very difficult to marginalise a majority, the whites in the US did it to a minority, doing it the other way round was thought of as almost impossible. what he didn't to realise though was the deep difference between Afrikaaners and British South Africans. these diffrences can still be seen today in every major city you go to in South Africa. I live in Cape Town and although the city is obviously separated by race, there is still a large difference between the Southern Suburbs (Constantia, Bishopscourt and Rondebosch) and Northern Suburbs (Belville, Parow, Tygerberg).
