For those who prefer the traditional soft buttons, there is a 3-button navigation option in settings under gestures... There's also a way to change the power button to turn off the phone but the Assistant would be lost. Just know there are options out there... have an issue/want to change something, do a quick search and see how to make the change or maybe there's an app that will help.

There are other voice, tap, and swipe gestures to access the Assistant still so you don't have to worry about 'losing' it if you want to change the power button to something else. You just have to dig in the setting a bit more to have it how you like.
I personally changed mine to the swipe from corner option cause it fell most natural/quick.
The tap option is probably another good one but I made that my screenshot button instead.

My Pixel 3XL is still so badass and in mint condition...the only downside is that the battery life is dying. I keep it at home constantly plugged in and use it exclusively on wifi when I am in bed or just chilling at home in order to prolong the battery on my S22 Ultra. Google Pixel 3XL's Display is still stellar and front facing stereo speakers are killer. Exact same software basically even as Pixel 6. Absolutely love my Pixel 3XL to this day. I might get the battery replaced.

    • @haroldsasnowitz6502

The reason your battery life is down is because you're keeping it plugged in all the time. I just learned this 2 weeks ago. Serach online for lithium battery life and you'll find a site that explains this mre.

Great video. I have a few questions...
If you have multiple home screen pages, is there a way to reorder the pages?
If you prefer to have navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen, can these be added?
Which "gesture" replaces the "previous" button?
Does pixel have a Google News Feed page to the left of the home screen?
Is there a way to get additional widgets to the ones which come with the phone?
    Thanks

Regrets on buying the Pixel 6 Pro
I purchased it primary for the 50 MP camera, but it's only 9.1 MP, not 50
At full resolution, the photos are only 4032 x 2268 = 9.1 MP
    Google support tells me:
"I'd like to inform you that it is working as intended. Device is built in that way and there is no Hardware or software error on this. Not all photos may need all the 48 megs to capture an image since there are multiple lens on the device"
    False, misleading & fraudulent advertising
A camera marketed, promoted & sold as 50 MP is only delivering 9.1 MP

You did not address a couple of issues. I cannot get the sim card out. Yours just popped out; mine does nothing. Also, what is the purpose of doing that.
Another issue: my phone has a lock symbol on the home page. It will do absolutely nothing. It only goes to an emergency phone call and then it is impossible to go back to the home page, which is still worthless, as it is locked and will do nothing. I feel I wasted my money at this point. I'm not having much luck using screen protectors on this phone. It makes the fingerprint reader almost unusable. I have tried 3 different screen protectors.

You have to use the plastic film type. Not tempered glass. I found this problem out too. Drove me crazy. When the pixel 5 read my finger no matter what. This in screen one sucks balls.

Thank you very much. However I have no clue how to make a different screen as homescreen or how to set some screens left from the homescreen itself. These have been intuitive functions though, but seems cumbersome/impossible(?) on Pixel 6. Fyi it is my first pixel. Thanks for your help!

Three months with this Pixel 6, and it has been one step forward, 60 steps back. Mine has been so bug infested that I pulled the sim card and put it in my old Pixel 3. I talked to my telecom provider, and they told me to contact Google who would fix it under warranty. They even gave me the number to call. A 1-800 number that doesn't work in my area! I fully expect that within six months, as a result of the egregious failure of this device, Google will be changing the company name!

I'm a man on a severe budget. I collect flagships from 2016 to 2020 and my 3a has the best camera even better than the LG V30 in which I thought was the best prior to owning a pixel. My 3a was won on ebay for around 36 dollars and I love it. I could only imagine owning one of those. Nonetheless that's a cool video 😊

Thanks for your useful guide to what I needed to know! Sadly I still can’t get fingerprint unlock to work. I was spoilt by my HTC that was a piece of piss to set up!
