Colin Farrell is a TRULY amazing man. A few years ago when he was in Toronto for the Toronto International Film Festival, he met a homeless man on the street. After taking him to a restaurant and buying him a meal, he rented him an apartment and paid the rent FOR A YEAR. THEN...when he returned to the Film Festival the following year, he visited his new friend and paid the rent for ANOTHER YEAR. A great Actor and a TRULY GREAT human being.

poet253rd its not really a tv series. its HBO, first off. so its far from 'tv'. and its not really a series, its 8 episodes. they basically shoot it as an 8 hour movie and give us bits. the power of HBO, the talent of the directors and cast....its far from a 'tv series'

Tom Waits It's a big thing for a generation that grew up with a wall between celebrities dividing movie stars from tv stars. It wasn't long ago when tv was considered menial acting work.

Well, it kind of depends on the host. Craig Ferguson (yeah, technically he's from the UK...) used to do completely "unprepared", spontaneous interviews in which he just talked about random stuff with them (I loved it) and then there is someone like Stephen Colbert who is extremely witty and I think is very good at making the interviews (I don't know, though, how he's going to be if he's being himself, not the character). Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel also let their guests talk much more (than Fallon) and as awkward as Conan can be, I think his remarks are often quite funny (as are his sidekick's) and with certain guests his interviews are always great (e.g. Goldblum or Bill Burr).
Fallon on the other hand really just makes me uncomfortable with almost every interview, so it's not necessarily about the American interview style, but rather about Fallon in particular. Is it really necessary to constantly say things like "you're the greatest...", "it's so much fun", "we love you" and hitting the desk etc.? Probably not. Fallon has his talents, but interviewing (in my opinion) certainly is his biggest weakness as a host.
That being said, Graham Norton is ten times better at these things than any of the big American late night hosts.

When this came about Mr. Farrell had quit drinking and was straighting out his wild ways....

TD2 is terrific. Phenomenal acting, especially from chameleon Colin Farrell. Do not expect a sequel to season 1. Apples and oranges. Just loved 2. Watched it twice and appreciated it even more.

exactly, and the same thing happened with Woodrugh as well. If he admitted his true sexual interest, he wouldnt went into that trap which eventually led to his death.
He was really great in True detective, the intensity he brings is friggen insane and most all the rest of the cast kicked ass in their roles esp Vince Vaughn but the main problem is the first season was far superior because it was written and directed so much better. They should have used the same writers directors and producers if they wanted to make another season of presumably the same show, but no they went and threw all common sense out the damn window. The performances by the top grade actors were amazing but its like they tried to use top grade ingredients to recreate a 5 star award winning chili recipe but hired Japanese sushi chefs to get it done of cooks. Pretty stupid. and a big letdown

If you havent watched the second episode of the second season then dont read this. But in case you have and you're wondering if farell's character is still alive, he pretty much just said in this interview that he's not. In 01:23 moment of the interview he says he would have liked it if he acted more with Taylor and that he did two scenes with him. If his character was still alive then it would be sure as hell he'd dome more than just two scenes with Taylor.

Colin Farrell was GREAT in The Bruges. So funny, and hot! I wish I had HBO. Reviews of True Detective season 2 are not as good as season 1. I haven't really liked Vince Vaughn in anything. I would purchase the first season on vudu if the price would come down.
