Lowkey one of my favorite dc movies. What did you guys think?
It's not a "revolutionary" story, but it's very solid and so refreshing to see Hispanic people given their due

I agree definitely one of the best..one of my fav DCEU movies and best DC live action movie in a while (excluding Justice League Synder Cut obviously)...Guardians 3 and this are best live action comic book movies i have seen in a while (before anyone comments i also loved Spiderverse 2 but thats animated)

Love this movie, the scene where we lost the dad hits me hard every time. Great movie and I hope we see more blue beetle in gunns universe
Gunn has said that Xolo will return as Jaime, but maybe not the movie as a whole. I really hope they just keep the movie as the launch point. It's so good.

Blue Beetle was an outstanding movie. Xolo Maridueña's casting as the main hero was flawless, and the entire cast delivered fantastic performances. The dynamic between Jaime and his family was particularly captivating and thrilling.
For those who have seen young Justice, I assume they planned to do The Reach next movie
I hope the explanation of why Ted Kord was gone was he was on time adventures with Booster Gold.

This movie was really fun to see on the big screen... The thing that makes this different from a lot of the big shiny noisy spectacles is that family element.
The only flaw this movie had is they made the Scarab soft and sound like Siri.
The Scarab and his voice is suppose to have an aggressive personality that easily condones violence if it gets the job done.
The character development that both the Scarab and Jaime had in being intertwined with the Scarab toning down his violent nature was great to see in Young Justice and other Iterations.
Other than that the movie is just plain solid.
Marketta and some others should watch some DC movies animated! That dark stuff

The character and actor is canon to Gunn's universe not the movie itself but Gunn might continue it
this really was an underrated movie. super fun and plenty of heart.
Its fine to say "Jay-Me" as long as you acknowledge that the correct pronunciation is "Hi-Meh". Usually, Mexicans dont actually care if you have to say a word differently because you cant pronounce it correctly. Its only actually a problem when you try to tell us we are wrong, and you are right and changing how our language works.
I only saw this on streaming since I haven't had much time or money, but I actually quite liked this movie even if I'm not Hispanic to relate as much as some friends who saw it lol. I just really like the chemistry they all have and the emotions the main guy can portray! (I've never seen Karate Kid or Cobra Kai so don't know him at all)

You guys don't even have to watch it for the channel but Superman and Lois is genuinely one of the best pieces of Superman media to come out in recent years.
For those who don't know, the scarab Kaji-Da is the most powerful artifact/weapon in the whole DC universe fuced to Jaime's spine. It's magical too (from Earth by powerful wizards in ancient Egypt).

Just to make sure, are the first suit up/powers scene and the Ted Kord lab reveal supposed to be cut out? Thought they were some of the highlight scenes of the movie.
40:47 I'm excited for Superman Legacy only BECAUSE it's James Gunn making it! Guardians of the Galaxy (especially Vol. 3) and Peacemaker were amazing! James Gunn is great at balancing hilarious humor with real world issues like animal abuse or white supremacy, and I'm really excited to see if that same style is part of Superman to make me actually like it now!😂
The Suicide Squad was his best one yet, in my opinion! Masterful character building
Hey Guys. glad u liked Blue Beetle. i saw on opening day with like maybe a quarter full theatre. Such a shame it did so badly cause i loved it..i agree Surge simple story and villian woman was so cliche but Xolo and the family got u so invested..it actually felt like a real family and in not sum long ass movie, which is genuis....The action was great..production excellent, it made me laugh a lot and get so emotional and if i was someone that cried i wud have...Dont blame u Marketa...I really enjoyed watching this with u especially after watching Cobra Kai with u...This was the most underestimated film of the year that most people slept on..Best DC movie in a while..I have seen three times..Love the channel..till next time☺️

This movie is so so good. GREAT REPRESENTATION OF MEXICAN HOUSEHOLD DOWN TO THE SMALL DETAILS AND FINALLY A CAST AND SCRIPT THAT TALK EXACTLY HOW WE SPEAK!! Even the ending song nada personal by soda stereo was like from a band that my dad loves and had to tell me about it since I never heard of it. I can't wait for James Gunn DCU if the rest are gonna be this good and accurate. :D
Mayes C. Rubeo and the Nine B Collective created Blue Beetle's suit, drawing inspiration from Cully Hamner's original design and various media appearances. They faced challenges in designing a mask that would fit Maridueña's face while allowing for expressive movements. To overcome this, they combined organic alien technology and insectoid features. The visual aesthetics of Palmera City were inspired by Akira, Neo Tokyo, and Miami. Soto also chose to incorporate a Nintendo Power Glove for Blue Beetle, following the inclusion of a shield in the script.
Best DCEU/DCU movie and best live action CBM of 2023. Just really glad and happy we finally got a superhero movie with someone like me as the lead and all-Latino cast that actually shows us in a more prominent and positive light.
If only Marvel Studios was able to make a movie like this. 😒An MCU movie with a Latino as the lead and an all-Latino cast made by Latinos that celebrates Latin American culture and lacks stereotypes like not showing as criminals or the background comic relief sidekick to the white main character. But unfortunately for some weird reason, they haven't been able to announce something like that so far while DC and WB were able to do it so easily with Blue Beetle. I just hope they finally announce a movie like that at this year's Comic Con.

Definitely heavily implied via the language that Carapax is indigenous Guatemalan. There are still human rights cases litigated against GuatemalanSchool of the Americas' grads that massacred indigenous Guatemalans in the 1980s. So everything lines up with the character's origin.

Definitely one of the best DC movies in the past 10 years. So much damn fun. I REALLY hope James Gunn just keeps the whole movie and not just Xolo as Jaime.
Btw. James Gunn has said himself that Xolo will be back as Blue Beetle in DC universe..it might not be in the same Universe so he might be slightly different but i cant wait..I would say he will go up against Booster Gold in his DC show or maybe show up in another movie..Since Gunn will have different characters show up in different movies so the world he creates will feel like a lived in world of Supes...

Idk James Gunn said that Superman Legacy is about a god trying to relate to humans when Superman is one of the most human superheroes, being a farm boy from Kansas. I’m not as excited when he said that.

When it comes to mispronouncing a name based on how it's spelled versus how it's said, you have to look no further than the way Xolo's name. It's pronounced "Sho-Lo", but when you see it, you would think it's pronounced Zolo or Solo.

I agree so much with what was said and actually their reaction made me appreciate the movie even more on a different level.
Truth, the actual story isn't a big deal, but everything else with inclusion inclusion and family was just a 100%.
I was also really glad that they did not make George Lopez a caricature of all Hispanic culture. It was a little in there but they're definitely is this kind of family member in most families.
As an aside, I think the colors that were seen might be for The green lanterns actually, won't say why but from the comics it resonated with me. It would be cool if they went a different way and kept it to this lore though.

This was a surprisingly fun film. Simple, a bit cheap by todays standards, but proud of what it is and with a clear beating heart and a solid cast and group of creatives behind it. Had it been released a decade ago, it would have dominated the box office. As it is, it’s a nice throwback and a good introduction to a fan favorite. I hope Blue Beetle continues to be a thing in James Gunn’s universe.

You'll see Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle again. James Gunn has already confirmed that he is the first DCU character and his film, Superman Legacy, will be the first DCU film.

This movie is fantastic! I'm actually stunned by how poorly it did at the box office, but it's probably because very few people go to the movie theater anymore. There's also a post credit scene that kinda sets up a sequel on this one btw.
Xolo will be in the dcu, but no this movie will not technically be canon. I’m sure plenty of elements will, but Ted kord will mostly likely be retconned to have a different story along with a few other things. Blue beetle will most likely appear first in booster gold, but maybe before that, and obviously he would also join either the titans or the young justice in the future

The editing, especially for the first part of the movie, feels really choppy to me. I think it’s the first time I really notice something like this, at least on this channel and not just the parts missing of the first transformation, but it seems disjointed throughout. Maybe they had copyright issues? I don’t know, weird 🤷🏽♀️
