    I think you already know this but if you put the fusion reactor on a hot world like most of the desert worlds and some of the jungle worlds that planet registers as extremely hot then the cryo engine works at its 100% capacity instead of just the 25%. this way you don't need to colonize a volcanic world.
    also the reaper launcher that you sold is almost as rare as the plasma gun and is in my opinion the most powerful finisher for the vanilla weaponry
    one last note is that you should check out the bars at tritech planets and make contact with their fixers then make them into contact so they offer you missions.

    Man you really need some cargo capacity, some fast, small, fuel efficient cargo ships, maybe Mules or something with militarized subsystems. Exploration really fills your cargo holds.

    Oh, you're playing my favorite Starsector mod! Thank you for introducing me to the game, by the way.
    Probably too late to do anything about it, but you never salvaged the mining station's debris field after looting it. You can occasionally get nice stuff from station debris.
    Loot you put in stable orbits now shows up on one of the Intel tabs. Can't remember which one, and at work right now, so can't check.
    Prism doesn't care about transponder, so you can turn it off right before docking if you're going to do black market, or even undock, turn it off, and redock.
    Reinforced bulkheads is cheap and cheerful, very handy for recovering drone tenders and other expendables.

      You're welcome and I'm glad to be back at it with some Nexerelin =]
      I always salvage stations after looting ( well maybe not ALWAYS but like 99% )
      I use stable orbits all the time!

    Ok, youtube deleted my comment. Remember to vote for games Rhadamant is going the next months to play at his homesite, which is in the dobelidoo.
    Is knightNaves' ship not firing?
    EDIT: can you upgrade the solar mirrors if you claim the planet where you found them? Would be neat.

    • @Rhadamant
      @Rhadamant  Před rokem +1

      Sometimes comments get stuck in spam filters for whatever reason, its strange. Also, CZcams bugged out a few days ago and all comments were broken for a few hours .. that was a strange time.
      Initially I didn't even give KnightNave's ship weapons, just as a tank so it has no weapons to even fire. As for mirrors, I am not sure. In vanilla Starsector, no but with Nex maybe its possible

  • @5RndsFFE
    @5RndsFFE Před rokem +1

    With regards to survey data,
    Even with Nex installed, they don’t lead the other factions to settle your surveyed worlds.
    Factions will often send colony fleets to planets you haven’t even discovered let alone surveyed.
    Survey data is essentially a credit reward for your initial outlay of supplies expended to conduct the survey in the first place.
    I don’t know why you didn’t take those buffalo’s simply for the cargo cap, D mods reduce supply usage, plus being non combat ships you need not worry about refitting them until you return the core worlds.
    Also stop transverse jumping out of systems man, it eats up extra fuel and supplies compared to jump points whilst also lowering CR.

    • @Rhadamant
      @Rhadamant  Před rokem +2

      For that first point do you have a factual citation for that? I've tried to track down actual facts for that in the past and never could.
      As far as specifically telling me how to pilot, I appreciate your feedback but I am going to play the way I play, so if that means wasting supplies and fuel just get used to it. I'm no Starsector expert and I don't pretend to be. I save scum, I don't play meta and if that bothers you I'm sorry. I play literally dozens of games on my channel so I simply do not have the time, energy, focus or will to perfectly play Starsector.

    • @5RndsFFE

      @@Rhadamant The facts behind it are:
      1) AI factions don’t colonise new worlds in the base game, the core worlds are it as far as they’re concerned.
      2)Nexrelin adds the 4x RTS gameplay features of wars and expansion, but the overall consensus is that AI expansion here is based largely on resource need rather than planet quality.
      3) The AI in Nexrelin colonise planets you as the player don’t even have survey data of, the AI don’t seem to conduct surveys or even purchase the ones you sell.
      This is further strengthened by the fact that if you were to sell all survey data to a single market (eg Prism Freeport) on either the open or black markets, you’ll notice they’re never bought or disappear. Now should you sell ship or weapon BPs to a black market, you’ll soon enough see those designs in fleets flying the Jolly Roger.
      Apologies if it appears like I’m trying to tell you how to play, that was never my intent.
      I was simply trying to make constructive criticism in hindsight about certain things that arouse during the previous few episodes.
      Ack you play and stream several different genres of games over the week and remembering the idiosyncrasies for each would be a reach.
      I’m enjoying the fact you’re not trying to min/max everything, hilarity ensues and makes for an entertaining episode.
      I myself am currently on my own play through with certain self imposed restrictions (pirate/corsair, black market only, no heavy industry only arms dealers for my own builds)

      @@5RndsFFE A citation isn't 'hearsay based on overall consensus' for future reference.

    • @5RndsFFE
      @5RndsFFE Před rokem

      @@Rhadamant Yeah I know, I couldn’t find anything from the devs specifically, I was trawling through logs for the last couple of years and couldn’t find anything substantial.
      It later dawned on me that expansion/colonisation is solely a Nexerelin feature, thus it’s simply the word of the modder saying that AI aren’t coded to use survey data.
      The closest thing to a citation I can find is this from Histerdine on the offical forums Nexerelin page;
      “Selling blueprints won't do anything with non-pirate factions, and selling survey data doesn't help specific factions (just speeds up the global colony expedition cycle, which is open to all eligible factions).” Page 310.
      Essentially selling the data will reduce the time it takes for a faction to send a colony expedition by some arbitrary value(base is like 400 days), they won’t however explicitly target planets you’ve surveyed.

      @@5RndsFFE Well thank you for your research, seems like its probably not a problem to sell them but given how little money they net, its also not an issue to dump them either.

    Gotta say, I love that you don't play epic exclusives. Epic and Sweeney are awful. I won't play their exclusives either.

    • @Rhadamant
      @Rhadamant  Před rokem +1

      My personal opinion ( and not one to be taken too seriously ) is that Epic essentially made most of their money making a cartoonish battle royale game that was designed to swindle children through microtransactions. Epic then used their wealth to build an anti-consumer platform for even more money and then after raking in billions tried to PR-cleanse their image with stuff like "oh we donated to Ukraine"
      If you're fine with that as a business practice, whatever, but its not a platform I need to be on.

    • @Mobirae
      @Mobirae Před rokem

      @@Rhadamant you're exactly right. And they used that money to try to take over the pc gaming industry and bring the same exclusive war nonsense from consoles to pc gaming. They've done nothing good for the industry outside of their unreal. And Sweeney is just all around not a good person.
