The newest addition, the Ray-Ban "No Tilt" Wayfarer Ease 4340 is just like the classic original but sans the tilt. Rob and Tyler go over all the differences between the three frames.

The whole point of the Wayfarer design is because of the tilt. I just purchased a polarized pair of the original 2140 Wayfarer and I love the panascopic tilt and the durability of them.

I don’t like the tilt, it always touches your cheekbones, it doesn’t protect your eyes from upper light. I guess it depends on each face shape, but honestly I prefer regular flat sunglasses.
Honestly I think the issue is that they don't fit many faces. They look weird if they touch your cheekbones, and especially if you have a flatter face then they seem to really stick out of your face which looks pretty weird. So I feel like petite/angular faces only work, all other faces don't fit right.
This video is amazing and helped me a lot deciding which size I should've get. Keep it up guys!

I'm so thankful I watched this first before buying.
Hey guys, thanks for the video. I checked the website and noticed another difference between the three models, related to the material. The 2140 is made of acetate, the 2132 is made of nylon and the 4340 is made of propionate.
I don't know much about this subject and about the reason for these material changes, so I ask you if it makes any difference in the quality, fit or durability of the products.
The nylon is lighter thr acetate is heavy
Do they not make the 47mm original Wayfarer anymore?
Everybody talks about head size but never mention nose bridge which is just as important for fitting sunglasses. I guess most people have a narrow bridge. My wide bridge is what kept me away from the Wayfarer all this time. I still hope to find one that fits some day...just can’t order online

I wish RB made something darker than that where the eye is not seen in light as shown here. Been using RBs for 10+ years but need something to block more light that what the New Wayfare offer currently. Maybe Spy+ ??

How come my replacement temples are more straight and the ones that came with them have more of an arch that wrap around my ear? I had broke one of my temples. I have the rb2132 bi color. Blue outside and purple inside. The frame is black. I feel like I have franken-bans! Any help would be great!

Tilt looks amazing if you don’t like it buy Oakley or other model of sunglasses the panascopic tilt it’s what makes the wayfarer such an iconic model… such a classic work of art.

If 52mm is small for medium head size on the new wayfarer, how the 4340 are going to fit with 50mm for medium head sizes ?

I bought these new glasses from Ray Ban sites suggested retailer in my location. Mine are RB 4226 . I want to know if these are wayfarers.

The reason it touches his cheeks is because the temple pieces are too short. If Ray-Ban extended the temple piece to actually fit around his ears it would be a great fit. The pronounced angel would be a cool feature but not so much so that it rests on his cheeks.
I wish them wayfarers be hanmade in usa instead of italy, i would definately pay the premium but still happy its one of the only handmade products from luxxotica.

Hello Daniel! The size indicates the lens width so the lenses of the 50 eyesize would be 8mm slimmer. If the 58 eyesize fit you well then the 50 eyesize may be a bit small. TILT TILT TILT! Can someone please help me? The 50mm are too big and slide off my face. The 47mm are discontinued and impossible to find. All thats left are the asian and the junior and they both seem like they have no tilt. Is the tilt just not possible to wear on some faces? I have a low bridge :( Oh the shame
Hey Tia! Below you'll see one example of a frame with Pantoscopic tilt from Raen called the Huxton! While it's slightly bigger than that of the size 50 original wayfarers, the temples are more adjustable allowing a more secure fit when you bend the back 3rd further down and behind the ear. Any local optician can help with this adjustment. Hope this helps!

Personally I love the original wayfarers 2140 54mm the tilt looks amazing, and personally the new wayfarers I don’t like them.. the design and shape is awful.. the original is where it’s at 🥰
I'm glad to read your comment, I just ordered a pair of the classic tilt wayfarers. I got my prescription done and tried on the two frames. I was amazed that I had not known of the design differences. For years I'd always had generic or knock off ones. I had never tried the originals, I figured I couldn't afford them. I went with the real deal. I hope I like the tilt it's a little different but I think it's a cool look.

Pity you didn’t give some kind of measure gauge rather than just numbers, am not as familiar with rayban wayfarer numbers. 54. 4043? What on earth does that mean .is it end to end like a smartphone or monitor screens ?
Hello and thank you for your feedback! The four digit numbers (for example, RB2140 and RB4340) are the frame model numbers. RB2140 is the Original Wayfarer and the RB4340 is the Wayfarer Ease. Each Ray-Ban model has it's own style number. The two digit numbers (52, 54, 55, etc.) are the eyesize for the frame. Hope that helps!

Why do you think the 52mm are too small for his face? I thought they were on point and the 55mm made him look like a bug more. I have and wear the 52mm because I think I have a narrow face but according to the chart I wear a 7 ¼ hat size so I should wear the 55mm. That's according to the chart from Ray-Ban but I prefer the smaller 52mm. That's the reason I'm hesitant on getting the original wayfarer because of their larger size and the 47mm are hard to find and I think they are considered child's size so I'd have to go with the 50mm. I just might do it though.

Watching this wearing my original b&l 5024s. Got to say I’m not loving the new no tilt model it’s part of the charm of the wayfarer. The tilt on modern wayfarers is no where near as bad as on the originals.

Does the 58 large wayfarer come with the polarized feature?
Hi Noel! Yes, the New Wayfarer in 58 eyesize is available with polarized lenses! There are also non-polarized options so just be sure to select the frame with polarized lenses.

HI! It depends on your definition of 'care'. Many people have used the same pair of authentic RB frames for decades. Like most frames, they succumb to common wear & tear, but with proper handling and storage when not in use, they should last a very long time.

Nothing comprehensive about this, just a couple of salesmen with salesmen level of knowledge.
We like to ensure people know about the differences between the frame construction on these two. Although the Original Wayfarer is a classic, the fit and coverage is not for everyone.

I also liked the 4340 more but the classic is really nice looking too, the only problem is uncomfortable when I smile. That’s why I went with the wayferer ease.
The regular looks like a great dupe of a Saint Laurent cat eye I just felt in love with but quite out of what I’d agree to spend on sunglasses so I might get the Original wayferer as well just to get my Saint Laurent cat eye dupe.
