Great little setup. Only suggestion would be to spend the money on a nice hitting mat, not only will the turf feedback feel better but you won't destroy your wrists if you happen to not have a perfect swing and hit fat shots.
I went through 3 mats before I finally broke down and bought an expensive one.
I bought a 200 dollar mat , back hurts, wrists hurt, and it wore out within a thousand hits! Spend the money
Awesome book that gives you step-by-step photos czcams.com/users/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt and directions to make every day project. I can see myself making a few of these projects and giving them as housewarming and holiday gifts!
9:05 love how you wired the socket and then cut the hole in the wall! real skills that is ;)
While you were in the attic pulling the wires, you just have just added a support to actually mount the project instead of drive wall screws
And run the HDMI cable
That was my first thought too!
Very interesting video and cool to see your entire build process and lessons learned...
I know for me it made me realize I'd rather just pay a bit more and have the kit ready to install as I don't have the same skills/patience that you do.
Just measure the focus range of the projector you plan on buying so the projector doesn't end up right over your htting area like this one did!
Which impact screen did you buy?
Awesome setup, small toggle bolts for the projector mount work pretty well too.
I'm not a golfer but after watching this maybe I should be. Great project and video!
I’ve been using the almost golf balls with the r10. I have a diy build and had some serious bounce backs. Way easier to dodge a almost golf ball coming straight at you off a 2x4 than a real one. Def worth it for a set up like this.
You gonna talk about that beauty under that cover? Looks like a car that rhymes with orcha
Just a corvette nothing big
@@masterfabricator pretty sure I saw big breaks and porche wheels
100%... looks like a 911 ....
991.2 Carrera S or 4S
That youtube money 💰
Are you getting accurate distances from your r10? And if so what how is it set up?
I used 1-1/2" abs pipe, was quick and easy, and made it to fold back into the wall when in needed extra room in my shop.
I'm going to be taking this on in the summer/fall for next winter, and in my one bay garage I'll be building the framework into the walls and hinging it. Some light material with some foamboard covered in black cloth is the route ill be taking. Nice build man, always love watching your videos. Love the floor too!
Only because I speak from experience........... You WILL end up hitting the 2 x 4s with a golf ball, and the ricochet can, and probably will be, catastrophic! Dented cars, broken windows/windshields, injured golfers, etc. I HIGHLY recommend covering the 2 x 4s with pipe insulation foam tubing. The balls will still bounce back, but with much less force.
you must have not watched the video
@@nokiiiiii fr
Why not put a net on top that first ball landing area, so that when it bounce it just catch by the net?
Curious if you were able to swing a driver with this compact setup. But very cool
What are the dimensions of your garage bay? Any issues with hitting the ceiling or garage door opener in your back swing?
Btw, what’s the car under the cover?
At first glance looked like a Nissan 350/370
Keep that lead foot down in your back-swing. Nice setup
All the wood needs extra padding I think 😅 awesome build
Looks like u already had a golf ball hit your projector glad that it has been holding up lol
So so so so sick!!!!! I have a 3 car garage, and you have made the perfect Sim. Great work. You are a great craftman!!!
Mr. Build It does it again! Nice work. Looks great.
Thats so awesome!!!!! Last touch would be to have your clubs tilted for easier access! Awesome stuff
I dodged the bounce back by building a small catch net with golf netting and pvc. Made it about 3 feet tall and set it just beyond my swing reach. I can see over the net to the screen so it doesn't block my view. Angled the net backward so it drops the ball straight down. It catches 98% and keeps them in one place. Balls never actually hit the screen. Works very well with optishot since only the clubbed is tracked. Can't speak for the other systems.
Could you please send me a couple pictures of your set-up, this sounds interesting
How tall are your ceilings in your garage?
Where did you get impact screen?
I was gonna build a simulator in my garage, but the ceiling is only 8' tall, and with engineered wood truss framing for the room, I can't without excess expense modify the hitting zone. Kinda bummed out.
What year is the 911 under the cover?
Porsche, golf simulator …. When did you get so country club?
Golf simulator/drive in theatre 👍
Nice setup ! What is the impact screen map and enclosure size ? Thanks you
great set up but I don't see a link to the impact screen????? Can you post that? Thanks in advance
I wonder if you could cover the wood with those swim noodles kids use in the pool.
The aspect was 16:9 but what are the length and hight dimensions of the screen?
Oh man, that is frick'n cool!
Great video! I'm not very handy, but keen to give this a go. Just use standard 2x4 wood that you'd use for a stud wall? Doesn't look there's any sagging in the middle for 10ft span? Thanks
What year is that Porsche??
looks like he owns 991 or 991.2 not turbo.
Build an archery target for your bow next!
Props for watching some "Bob Does Sports". Easily one of the best golf CZcams channels.
You ran the wire for your light, you could have also done the wires for the iPad and tv. They make CL3 rated HDMI cables. And you could have placed the projector just about anywhere. You just have to dig into the picture adjustment menu for keystone correction, image size etc
You really can't do keystone very well when you use a short throw projector or ultra short throw projector. A little bit you can but the image gets bad real fast. Not unless the projector has lense shift!
@@mynameisprivate158 I was just saying that he didn’t necessarily have to place the projector in that one particular spot because there are adjustments in the menu he could have used. He didn’t seem to be aware that he could do that.
using iPads leave black lines from the projector, using a pc as a bigger aspect ratio.
We gotta get you a mevo+ sim! This is awesome
Cimarron 5x10x10 Tour Simulator
Curious how it’s going moving the car in and out of the bay with the mats still on the ground. Do the mats move and get dirty?
I’d also like to know the answer to this 😅
or you know - heat of an engine over slightly flammable polyester.
Make a video taking us to the course!!!
What did you use to hang up the curtains.
Holyshit Mr Buildit. That’s one hellavah garage, before and after golf simulator
I have a 9ft ceiling in my basement. Will that be high enough? Thanks
I see you dont have any left handed friends with that set up hahahaha :) Sweet build
What about the wedding backdrop? Lol
Fly to North Carolina and we can play some golf and collab on a video 🙌🏻
You could have leveled that light switch with the other one.
Should have fish constant power and the hdmi when you did the light.
Not worried about a ball hitting the wood directly? Would suck to shank a ball off a 2x4 into the window of that black tarp parked next to it.
Ah the shower curtain technique
Great video. I'm looking to do the same thing. Thanks
What will you do about that 2 cent swing? LOL
How does the image get from the iPad to the projector?
This build was seriously wicked
Love this DIY
How far are you from ball to screen on R10?
Excellent - I'm considering building one in my attic space! :)
Did it improve your game?
I’m so glad you’re not monotone I tried to follow other channels had to listen 3x and then gave up lol. Good presentation.
Do you have detailed plans and materials list?
Only comment, why did you spend all that effort to wire a new light and switch and not run the wires for the projector ?
Its seems like this would be a good business to go into.
Fun build
Is that a Porsche under the covers?
You park it in the driveway woman! Now go get dinner started!
Need a materials list!
How high is your ceiling?
My wife said the same thing..."Where am I going to park my car?" I've pitched the idea but haven't started.
Bro have you already gone to the topgolf out here in Idaho?
great set up, if you ever upgrade it I hear that the mevo+ is the best non professional sim in the market and that nice hitting mat saves your wrists
The Mevo+ is great as long as you have the 8-10 feet space behind your hitting area. It is alos forgiving back there if you have some unskilled golfers try out your simulator. If you don't have the spave then a Skytrack is a good option as it only needs like 8-12 inches to the side of the ball.
You can't hit driver with a 8 foot ceiling
I legni per la struttura di che grandezza dovrebbero essere?
Get Ryobi to send you their USB C powered fabric cutter
200 dollar projector .. 2 x 10 dollar bed sheets.. a 50 dollar mini pc with a 30 dollar Kinect would do the same job.
Very nice Sir 😃
If this was my wife it would have to be I’m my parking spot 😂
Cmon man! Love your content, but you didn’t get the elevation of the switch and socket the same! Bugging me!
What’s a simalator?
At your new place.
Dude you were gonna get clunked when the ball hits the 2 x 4
This is a test run for the next house, when Alex builds his man cave.
what do these people do for a damn living? That garage is the size of my old house.
SIM-U-LA-TER! GODDAMIT MAN
What model of safe is that?
I can promise you that you can find a projector for much much cheaper then $1000 with a mount and much higher lumens and better quality
I think your zeros got mixed up. I personally would prefer the real deal.
115mph?? So it isn’t strong enough for full swing shots?!?!
I wish my two car garage had tall ceiling
Wii Sports! Way cheaper golf simulator! 😁😅
Can’t hide that 911 from me :)
it looks like you don't play with lefties lol
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
whats with the older foreign woman complaining. old italian lady or something haha
Love sports and games for all member family💖.
Is there something you can’t do???😮👍👍
This is going to make your house so much more re-sellable.
what if you hit the golf ball faster than 150....which many people do lol
