I don’t know enough about tennis to really comment. But all I can say is that despite her service she still wins. She and her team must have a good plan behind this.
The next tournament is the Rome masters 1000. Rome is important as it is similar to Roland Garros conditions. Also, Iga won her match against Cirstea, and is in the 4th round in Madrid.
90 % comes from body and armes not the legs !, But ofcourse you get a better angel the higher you jump.Is the pinkie away from the ringfinger in the grib Its importent for having a loose grip.
I hope you got some sleep Chris!! You look so tired!! But such a dedicated Iga fan you are! Rome should be next...another 1000 event before Roland Garros....although I could see her skipping it if she does well in Madrid ...just to get some rest & recharge as she likes to say...BUT...I want to see her play Ostapenko!! And I think she secretly wants to get that monkey off her back! I bet it bugs her that she hasn't been able get past Penko!🙄🤔
I agree with the comment that her grip is an extreme Eastern. If you look at how Iga goes for overhead smashes, she doesn't hit them down like smash properly. She kind of comes over them and slices it. Not ideal smash form, which should be similar to serve form.
She has always had this extreme grip on her serves. The annoncer, Coco Vandeweghe, is obsessed each and every time she calls Iga's match about her serve. She is the worst announcer on TC. Even here, she throws out male golfers' names like anyone but her would know about. I'm sure the #1 player in the world doesn't need her help.
@@kczar1962 You are SO RIGHT about Coco V--give it a rest already on Iga's serve!!!🙄😆I also just love how many of the "analysts" don't ever seem to comment on the fact that her serve speed had increased and she is a having a few more ace's here and there!!! I also noticed today that Iga's serve movement was more fluid ...less of the slight pause with the new movement, so I think she is becoming more comfortable with it
Iga Świątek April 25, 2024 Madrid Open

Iga still needs work. But her interview with her coach this week makes me realise they know and are addressing

Regardless of cocos comments she isn’t wrong. The serve can be tweaked.
1:03 pure conti.
Iga is a bully. She looks rude in the court.
Next is Italy
Thank you kindly - Chris
