Vinay is a direct disciple of the world renowned Santoor Maestro Padma Vibhusan Pandit Shivkumar Sharmaji. Initially, Vinay received knowledge in vocal/harmonium/tabla from Shafiq Rahman in his teens. After completing his college in both Pre-pharmaceutical science as well as Pre-Law in Delaware, Vinay sought out to learn Santoor in India. In 2011, Pandit Shivkumar Sharmaji guided Vinay to begin his training under Takahiro Arai and Kunal Gunjal before being accepted by Panditji himself. Vinay regularly performs throughout USA, including Hawaii, Argentina, Canada, The Bahamas, Australia, and India . He is known for his meditative and dynamic musical phrases. His devotion to the purity and the depth of Shivkumar Sharma's style comes forth in performance. Vinay continues to spread his Guru’s work not only through performances, but also teaching and lecturing at different places.
Ishaan Ghosh
Ishaan stands out as a front-ranking young Tabla player of India, having received intensive training from his father, the renowned Tabla and sitar maestro, Pandit Nayan Ghosh.
He is the worthy representative of one of the most illustrious families of Indian music, his grandfather being the Tabla legend and revolutionary musician ‘Padma Bhushan’ Pandit Nikhil Ghosh and Pannalal Ghosh - the Father of North Indian Flute (Bansuri) being his grand-uncle.
A child prodigy, over the years, he has carved a niche for himself as a dynamic soloist as well as a co-artiste, having performed with stalwarts like Pt. Jasraj, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Dr. N Rajam, Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty, Pandit Nayan Ghosh, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Taufiq Qureshi, Pt. Ronu Majumdar, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Niladri Kumar, Rakesh Chaurasia & Purbayan Chatterjee among several other Indian & international musicians.
One of the most sought after artistes of his generation, Ishaan has regularly presented his music to audiences in India and the world over at prestigious venues and music festivals which have won him critical acclaim & rave reviews.

Fantastic concert. Both Vinay and Ishaan are the "chip of the old block" of their respective gurus and both more than do justice to their respective lineage. Great to see the younger generation continuing the Hindusthani tradition.
Kudos to the video and audio crew as well for doing such a great job capturing the performance. My only request is to record and present these concerts in stereo rather than mono. I think the santoor-tabla balance is quite good (I am listening on headphones) but it can be useful for tabla players who are listening to isolate the tabla track for further analysis.

There is something magical about Ishaan. He is blessed with such nice hands. It is very pleasing to watch him perform and the way his hands look when playing the bols, I mean look at that at 38:54

Even Santoor is the main instrument it is slightly to loud in this recording.
Tabla could be louder in other words.
