I begin my day listening to you. And my day always go well. You make the sitar almost human. It could well be some divine being humming, and not wood and strings. Thank you Roopa for reviving this beautiful instrument. Kids in India don't know what a sitar is. But you give me hope that this music will live.

In the Imdadakhani Khani gharana,no other sitar player has ,probably,played this beautiful and melodious Raga Megh,in a public function this far. Roopa Panesar 's effort to play this Raga,which is a typical seasonal one and melody based rather than fast tan and unusually high voltage stroke based ,symbolical,of this gharana.

Хочу посветить вас в это знание, зачем украшали замысловатыми узорами храмы в прошлом.
Те люди, которые искусно выстраивали целые храмовые ансамбли в свое время, являлись большими мастерами своего дела. В орнаментах и узорах заложена божественная музыка, которую воспринимали адепты, которые приходили к этим храмам. Так как у них был развит «третий глаз» и подсознание. В свое время это была целая культура и такой образ жизни который дошел до наших дней. Сейчас не каждый может считывать эту музыку с сооружений. У каждого храма своя особая божественная неповторимая музыка. По нашим меркам это все равно, что сходить на современный рок концерт. Индийский музыкальный инструмент "Сатир" раскроет любой Дух и Душу. Недаром этот инструмент существует, он может открыть наш Дух. И напомнит нам, как звучит божественная музыка этих удивительных храмов. Я хочу, что бы вы тоже заочно восприняли и познали эту музыку. Не на сто процентов, но что- то около этого.
Так звучат храмы Индии. Попробуйте, глядя на храмы Индии найти отклик в своем Духе эту музыки. Намосте всем и хорошего дня!

Totally awesome! The Sitar is singing in joy! Ustad Khan Sahib and his brother Ustad Imrat Khan Sahib both play as they sing. Nice to see the legacy continued.
We use Panj-di-Savari (15 beats) in Kirtan (Bhai Avtar Singh ji Raagi being a Icon) but this is first time I have heard it with a Sitar. The Tabla was very respectful and disciplined playing. Clearly he had the ability to do more but it is the Tabla player humility to accompany the Sitar.
Both the tabla and sitar were Booth Khub!

I am a retired Prof of OBG in Bengaluru. Have been listening to Hindustani Classical Music from about the age of 7. Could not learn music because of that great big subject that has a name starting with *’M’*!
