Body off frame restored starting with a clean 3 owner car. Genuine CCCA classic car, one if the last true classic cars. Only an estimated 195 Town and Country convertibles still exist today. This one had 1 owner from 1960 until around 2000. In 2002 a complete body off frame restoration took place, we have a photo album of the process. We acquired it from the Claude O estate. He had a full-time mechanic maintaining his cars because he wanted to be able to drive any car at any time.
EXTERIOR: The car is massive. The seams to go on forever and the doors feel like they are a foot thick! The metal is laser straight with no rust, damage, or issues. The wood is original! It's refinished, not replaced! The paint has tiny metal flake that really glistens. The clear is polished like glass. Overall, the chrome on the car is straight and shiny. The power convertible top is restored. The frame is painted and weatherstrips were replaced. The top is a rich dark green German cloth. The big white wall tires are completely filled in with chrome centers. A rare option is an electric gas cap release, I didn't even know that existed back then. It also has a spotlight and reverse light.
INTERIOR: Rare Highlander interior included the Scotch plaid upholstery and clear knobs. The seats have great cushion and are reupholstered in the plaid cloth and genuine soft leather. The matching door panels are reupholstered. Nice looking carpet with bound edges. The unique dash area is in very nice shape.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine compartment is restored to new condition. Smooth running Spitfire Straight 8 motor 323 ci makes 131 hp. All the components, brackets, air cleaner look great. The metal surfaces are painted glossy.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's a very upscale trunk compartment. Down on the floor is carpeted with bound edges. It is boxed and upholstered, even under the trunk lid. It has a full-size whitewall spare tire on a painted rim, the jack assembly, and a rare tool kit. Believe it or not they have engineered the heavy trunk lid to lift open with 2 fingers!
UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame. The entire chassis was stripped down and painted gloss black. The front and rear suspension was completely rebuilt and detailed. The steering was rebuilt. Correct stainless steel exhaust system with 2 mufflers. The brake system was restored, brake lines and hoses were replaced. Looking up at the motor it's still spotless. It has its original unique fluid drive transmission. It's a manual that acts like an automatic. The drive shaft and rear end were restored. The floors appear to be rock solid metal with a thin factory undercoat.
Impressive. That's the one word that best describes this car. It's sheer size and unique features separate it from all the others. The condition of this one is exceptional to. Like I said, it's impressive!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.

That car was born the same year I was and my first car, a '49 Dodge business coupe, also had the fluid drive transmission, very easy to drive, hold the brake, put it in gear and just let the clutch out, when you're ready to go let off the brake and give it the gas. You could even take off in high gear on level ground or downhill. Very nice Chrysler, and yes, those straight eight flat heads were very smooth and quiet.

Antique 1948 and before, Classic designation starts in 1949. I don't think this guy knows what he is talking about. (Fact Check AACA designation)
