      Yes, I agree. Sir is telling a nice story, but does not rigorously derive much.

    According to every textbook I've ever read, the right hand "corkscrew" rule applies to conventional current flow, which is positive to negative. I think the magnetic flux lines should be reversed, but I'm no expert on dipoles.

    Excellent explanation. It's so good to see it explained with the arrows instead of those wave diagrams. Also you were describing how the fields look in 3d space.

    I think, your pictures are not good, as the field strength is not constant.
    At the ends of the dipole, the E-field is highest and in the center of the dipol is zero,
    and the current at the end of the dipole is zero ,and in the center of the dipole the
    current at the maximum.
    This should be showed, this is important!

    • @kassima9892
      @kassima9892 Před 5 lety +2

      Closed circuit is required when we apply DC voltage, but when we apply AC voltage the antenna act like capacitor it means that charging and discharging. At half wave length capacitive reactance and inductive reactance are equal so the antenna is oscillate at the highest.

    • @RichFreeman
      @RichFreeman Před 5 lety +1

      They would. At the center the electric field lines would be nearly parallel to the dipole, and would also be at their weakest.
      At least, that is my physics 101 understanding.

    • @EngineeringFunda
      @EngineeringFunda  Před 3 lety +1

      in 1st case, we have considered upper terminal is positive and power terminal is negative for positive half cycle, in that current is coming out from upper terminal and current is going inside in lower terminal.

      No, it's alright. The confusing begins with the conventional current (= opposite to the electon current). This is a very bad educational concept in physics.
