If you stop at 2:08 you can see which part of human's (or perhaps engineer's) body is used to create the first facehugger!
The Spine becomes the tail of the hugger and the lungs becomes the organs used to keep their victim alive with air while implanting it.
This movie still has a lot of undiscovered details.
And the "perfect mothers" at 1:49..... WTF these vids!!
Isn't it just pretty much Shaw's reproductive organs spliced w the black goo? I think David used spliced fingers as well for the legs, if you think about it, face-hugger has 8-10 legs..
the engineers ribs are the legs and the tail is the spine, Basically it's a spine and lungs and ribs looking for a body.

I really hope Ridley gets to make one more film to connect back to the original Alien. Yes, both Prometheus and Covenant had their problems. I think Covenant would have been significantly better received if some of the viral material like "The Crossing," "The Last Supper," and Advent/more David's lab were included in the theatrical release. Dear Fox, please let Ridley make one more Alien film, let him redeem himself!

Four years later and that doesn't seem like a posability. Pitty. I realy liked covenant and prometheus and i wanted to see the end of davids charector arc. I realy like the direction Ridley was trying to take the series, bringing in more philosophy and specultation on the nature of life.
To me the true nature of life is change and that's what makes Davids charector so fascinating. He's like a coruption of everything that life is and the pathogen also is like an "evil" version of DNA. All of which made for a perfect xenomorph origin story. No mater what other people sat i'll always love these movies
@@r.nlawbreaker1601 it isn't a xenomorph origin story. The Xenomorphs have always existed, it is a story of how humans and Xenomorphs are linked to something greater. Linked to the potential of becoming a perfect being.
Fox actually gave the go ahead, but with the Disney fox merger the project was put on hold. I heard after the merger, Ridley pitched his script to Disney to which they rejected.
I'm loving this separate extended branch of Alien. They are going down fascinating paths.
Man, you guys should've done a 360 degree video in Davids lab or better yet a VR experience where as viewers are able to interact and explore the lab to see up close on the artworks and able to read the notes.

Then suddenly while looking around at random times a facehugger just jumps out of nowhere and attaches to your face... or a hiss from above as an alien lunges at you... but again it's timing is random and more like an easter egg.
It's like the Engineers were going eugenics crazy in search of the perfect being, and David is carrying on where they left off.

Hey, Fox, on behalf of many Alien fans, please let Ridley Scott make more sequels or at least do one more sequel to Covenant to wrap up the story and connect back to the original Alien (1979). Also, let him bring back the Engineers and explain their motivation and mythology, as well as the xenomorphs'. Please do not cancel the sequel to Covenant and reboot the franchise as some rumors suggest you are considering. We are sick of Hollywood doing reboot after reboot. Please, I beg you, do not listen to the vocal minority who always have something negative to say. Let Ridley finish his vision. Then, you can do whatever you want. The truth is that the majority of people enjoyed Alien: Covenant! Personally, I loved both Prometheus and Covenant. I guarantee you I am not the only one. To the fans of Covenant, I urge you, if you liked this movie and want a sequel, show your support by buying the blu ray. At the end of the day, it's money that talks the loudest.

I don't need to be a Fan to like the movies, but you cannot ignore the fact that the Characters in both Movies are the greatest flaw. Covenent could have been a great explanation. The continued Story of Shaw and David, the meeting with the Engineers, and at the middle or End their destruction and birth of Davids obsession.

And its all her for people who think David Created the species , ( which he didnt ) He copied the engineers " ancient ceremony " giving life to "the wolf" as David calls it , He stood on the shoulders of giants wiped half of them out so He has something to call HIS OWN, his creation , his idea of perfection
He saw the mural of a Xenomorph/queen xenomorph (i dont think it was a queen , but can be argued , my brother thinks its a queen )emerging from the black goo on the wall , (even though we dont see him looking at it on camera BUT he did go "walk abouts" In the juggernaut) & he " learned of their ways "
I loved this movie , David is such a great character to watch , i would loved to see David & Roy Batty have a conversation , I think they would enjoy each others company
Sorry about the tangents haha THE NEOMORPHS ARE A GREAT ADDITION TO THE FRANCHISE , but I think I would have preferred to see another Deacon (from ending of Prometheus) because that creature was evolving right in front of our eyes , i have read the original Prometheus script(its pretty good its an Alien movie no question ALIEN ENGINEERS) & I think everyone knows about the Ultramorph version of the Xenomorph & people are always saying I wish we got to see that ...... We did we saw its birth that deacon was at least 5 foot at birth , the Xenomorph is what like 2 foot MOSTLY TAIL when it's born , and it becomes 8/9 foot tall , so a 5 foot deacon at birth would grow to about 12/15 tall in Hours
I think that has got to be DAVIDS next step for THE PERFECT ORGANISM

Movie should have been more like the David/Shaw stuff we're seeing with the DVD instead of the generic, let's make the worst possible decision at every opportunity sci-fi horror flick.

...I love this short, it perfectly links the idea of corporate conspiracy, probably only a very limited number of high ranking company officers and executives within the elite of the organisation, to the first movie's events to David's machinations. Somewhere he's created his own twisted planetary lab of biomechanics and they have to figure out some way to anticipate the threat (and competition) he represents. It's brilliantly enigmatic and suggestive...
David is one of my favorite characters of anything ever

As flawed as the movie is, I still have a soft spot for it and Prometheus, and want to see David's tale continue. He's definitely a chilling villain too.
M S a lot of people don't like the film bur i don't think its flawed in the way that i think it's exactly how Ridley envisioned it.
Of course there is The hole argument that originally they were going to make prometheus 2 and Ridley was forced into bringing in the xenomorphs but i think he was always going to make covenant but originally it was going to be prometheus - prometheus 2 - covenant and they missed out the movie
M S i'm sorry if i came across as bit angry i do agree that it is an awesome movie with a few flaws like for instance the scene with the alien aboard the covenant is a bit week also duos anyone feel like the way they had the climax as a kind of homage to the original alien a bit similar to the way they did the climax of the predator with them being hunted through the jungle.
Ps i know i should never compare alien covenant with the predator as most people hate the predator but to be honest with you i kinda liked liked it

So David talks of ancient rituals and great cruelty that had given way to timidity. So is this why he hated the Engineers? He felt they had become too compassionate and less ruthless? This is hey he chose to destroy them? He felt they were not fit to be Gods anymore? And the humanoid form was only fit to be the 'mother'/carrier for a superior species?
These experiments are just freaky as hey and David was a bad, bad broken android to have done them hey!!
Gee, I hope they get to make more in realm of promotheus and engineers, that story was indeed fascinating. This whole catering to the alien fandom can be done without being too forced like done in alien covenant

The funniest thing is that David’s speech mirrors a capacity of Prometheus storyline “There was so much potential on this world wasted by gods that feared their own mind” … you just wasted a great plot

For the longest time I wondered what the purpose of Prometheus was. It didn't seem to have any connection to Alien, except by the most bare bones standards.
This scene finally explained that connection. What kind of individual would create the Alien?

Perhaps David will modify Xenos to the point that they can travel through space. Think of millions of egg pods spreaded through a Flying unit type Xeno and those pods emit a thrust from the absorbed solar rays or whatever they could use as thrust to push themselves and It will stay like that for millions perhaps billions of years till they reach a planet using a homing system.

If David created the queen, then he could find a way to send facehuggers to any planet he wants to.

Just like infection spreading. Looks like he uses Engeneneers ships to send eggs to other planets. Great ending for final film in trilogy. And i think all this "we want take this creatures" from Alien 1-4 is "Legacy" of David's plan. He want to destroy humanity, so he just uses Weyland Utany's greed to capture xenos for study, military, money. He almost succeed, in Alien 1, but Nostromo was destroyed and did not get to Earth. Same in other films. Thank you, Ripley:) It's really great prequel plot, but looks like we are not getting final film soon.

I think he’s talking more about the ritual that was preformed at the beginning of Prometheus. The engineers seen in covenant seem to be different than the older engineer civilizations that perhaps dabbled more with the black goo and bio mechanical technologies.

Prometheus and Covenant have left alot of questions but straighten me out on something: Unless I misunderstood- David's genetic experiments while marooned bring about the eggs with skull huggers or an unseen queen to lay them, yes???? He calls them his "successes". If yes, how are there skull huggers in AVP hundreds of years earlier? I've obviously missed something but if this is a plothole that only time travel will fix... I'm out.
As far as I know, the AvP stuff isn't canon (at least not anymore). Alien and Predator are set in different continuities, and that Alien skull at the Predator ship in the 2nd Predator movie was nothing more of an easter egg.

So David is the one who created the xenomorph alien species through experimentation and tests he’s the mastermind who succeeded.
No, the Engineers technically created the “Xenomorphs.” They were called “World Seeders” in the Prometheus script that showed the conversations between Engineers
This happened in year 2080 something. Aliens have been around way before that. David didnt create them.
But we need proper Predator prequels at the same time to be directed by John Mctiernan to show you the origins of Yautja species and we don't know who created them in the events taking place before the original Predator movie 1987 because it actually bio engineered and they're actually artificial as well as they are the final result of the experiments made by someone that would be the events to ignore Prey directed by Dan Trachtenberg along with Predator prequel Prey sequel hopefully that happened finally but this time in theaters hopefully also not in exclusive in streaming but I enjoy Prey Predator Prequel.
Still not liking David being touted as the creator of the Xenomorphs. It’s also contradictory to the first film. Which is what bugs me the most (no pun intended)
Some deleted scene says that the Space Jockeys/"Engineers"(as in Scotts original draft)actually made the Xenomorphs and David used the Engineers notes to REVERSE ENGINEER the Xenomorphs. The one we see in Covenant is NOT a Xenomorph, more Davids attempt at creating them. Thats why the facehugger eggs are so damn big and the alien looks less biomechanical.
Some deleted scenes NEED to be left in to not ruin a franchise.

What a disappointment, after that of the big fuck that Scott made us with Covenant, and to know that he refuses Neill Blomkamp to take the controls of the 5 . This same Blomkamp, a fan of sf and Alien since always, was so disgusted that he disbandedonne the project. Despite these videos that are gold in bar to continue the project .....I doubt that Disney, having bought the rights (LOL), can do better...

I hope they finally kill off David in the sequel, I absolutely hate the character and think he takes up too much screentime. At least in the deleted scenes it explains he REVERSE ENGINEERED his alien, not actually MADE the species as a whole(so the actual xenomorphs are out there somewhere), that was such a dumb plotline.
Wish they explained this IN the movie.
