Regarding the prizes for the new 1 hour missions: The 1.2m CR comes from combining the gold, silver and bronze prizes (500k+400k+300k=1.2m). This can only be claimed once. I still think there could be much better balance between the different modes. Online, arcade race, custom race and some world circuit events still pay out too low. It is a step in the right direction though which is good - I sense that this game will take a while to get to it's best state. Kinda frustrating that we have to wait but that's par for the course for video games these days.
I feel the reason for that is because the game just came out , no need to have massive payouts to the point where everyone has every single car a month or two after the game comes out.
Why even play a game like this? Why not just download some free to play gambling sim where you always win? Since everyone's so entitled and don't want to actually earn the cars they buy. You do not deserve a trophy for sucking at soccer just like you do not deserve to get a million credits in an hour of "sim racing". This is now just as bad as forza's "you win as soon as you start the game" economy. This is a laughable joke.

Agreed very hyped, have you or anyone reading this also noticed the cockpit view driving is much better now as well? The drivers hands and wheel move much more now, almost a night and day difference, going around hairpins and having the driver actually putting full lock on the wheel and the animation of the hands coming over the dash? As a very casual GT fan, I hope they add more to the Cafe in the future because I really enjoyed the guided progression. The pacing was nice getting me to try lots of different cars and races and gradually improving (though I am still terrible)
I agree. After you complete all the menus, the entire Cafe becomes useless. I finished Menu 39 maybe two weeks ago and haven't visited it since. They should add some content to it to give it some purpose.
@@zagrebblues9894 the entire purpose of the cafe is to introduce you to the many different things in the game while using a variety of cars. It teaches you how to tune, customize, what mission challenges are, world circuit events are, circuit experiences etc….
On top of post-launch Cafe missions, I'd also love to have the ability to replay past Cafe menus to re-earn cars once they re-implement car selling. It'd make the grind even smoother and a bit more interesting alongside adding a use for the Cafe once even the post-launch missions are completed.
The daily race amount needs increasing drastically. They need to reward all types of players relatively equally and they shouldn't be punishing people for playing online. I don't think daily races should ever be the best way to make money (because you don't want people playing online just for the sake of it being the best way to earn money) but it should be sizable enough that it feels very substantial. Something in the realm of 200k for a daily race seems reasonable to me, perhaps the rewards for top 3 could be even higher.
Absolutely agree with this. Given that you can get 1.5m CR per hour in single player modes, only being able get less than 100,000 per hour online is way too low. It would be great if it were around 125,000 for completing the race then add on bonuses for clean race, finishing position and fastest laps.

For those of us that are still not too confident to race online, the offline credit increases are great. That said, yeah....the online player base needs better rewards for the way they play.
Would be nice to bring back qualifying for races so you don’t have to start from the back every time. Also support drivers you can manage to help with endurance races.
Unfortunately that would basically break the entire game. Polyphony know the AI isn't good enough to race hard with the player, and that's why every event in both this and GT Sport gives the AI a large time advantage and spreads the field at the start. Not having that, or having a way for you start closer to the front: you'd easily lead every lap unless the AI had regulation-breaking cars (think of Gran Turismo 2 where some AI cars are above the max power limit for the event).
Even though things should/shouldn't have been here in the first place I think so as well. Can't wait until they actually are adding new things to the game.

When I say things that should or shouldn't be here, I mean reducing payouts, thek bringing the selling feature, the roulette rework, fixing the used and legendary cars being shown and taken too quickly and some other things. I'm just saying that when they nerfed payouts, made the roulette and did other things that people didn't like, they shouldn't have done it in the first place. This time that they used to revert and fixed things could have been used to add actual new things to the game instead.

It can take an incredible long time and sometimes just blind luck to find a problem sometimes, and to sort out unexpected problems that changes to the core game mechanics can sometimes cause. This just shows how much work and effort Polythany has put in to address the players issues with the game. They have always been very good as a company as progressing their games and bringing out quality and until recently free content for their games.

I could already buy both Aston Martin that require an invitation thanks to this update. It really fixed the economy of the game imo. Pretty happy, but we still need more events that require certain types of cars above 750 PP.
There you go, just the simple ability to allow me to buy a couple of different cars I want has doubled my interest and makes me want to go back. I don't need to collect everything but it's nice to have choices and be able to upgrade the cars how I want.

Now there's a little more reason to play, that's all.

Can anyone exain how it works, pls? Do you have to complete the circuit experiences for one track and are able to get the prize? Do you have to do the lap or do u have to do all the segments of the track?
Good update, great to see they starting to fix some of the pay-outs. I would like, to see them fix the Multiplayer and Sports Mode stability of the lobbies, as soon as possible.
The custom races have almost doubled in payout, I think there is a limit tho becase for 4 laps u make 70k, I think after 20 it maxes out, so 20 laps and 200 laps pay the same. U have to increase difficulty and put urself back of grid to see even more % increase to payout, also grb & gr1 opponents pays alot more then gr2 and gr3 3rd
This is a massive step forward for GT7, will definitely make the Car Collection Grind much easier 😍😍 I agree with others that the daily races needs to be increase a lot more too, hopefully that comes soon!!
I wonder, if the payout was weighted more for clean race bonuses, would that encourage cleaner racing? If you're grinding to get a particular car, you would want to avoid not getting the max amount.

Bear in mind also that the roulette tickets have an expiery date on them. Also regarding the Nordschliefe 200 laps. That amount will also go up if you put the pAI level to proffessional and a few of the other penalty things on as well. I did it with an 8 hour endurance this afternoon ( It would pay out a lot more than 163 thousand). I didnt do the 8 hour endurance I was a bit busy this afternoon. lol
Honestly having the Endurance races as missions with a 1 time pay out is the bit that bugs me no one is doing these missions to "Grind" credits and anyway for the same time invested in one of these races you get more credits from Sardegna and Sarthe currently so what does it matter they should make these Endurance missions pay out each time.
I can understand why online credits is not increased by much.....You will get tired of grinding single player races after getting 1st position as it becomes very static and boring, while you can play same multi-player race for hours and hours without getting bored...if they start giving 100k or more for multi-player races then people would unlock all 424 cars within few weeks and then there is nothing else to do unless you are really into multi-player races
Love the update and the fact Polyphony are listening, feels like grinding is a lot more fun now, only thing they need to fix, as you mentioned, is the payouts in Sport mode

Very few cars I care about in this game. This is a Game and simulating the banality of Real life in a disingenuous attempt Claim To Realism when they can’t even get the physics as good a project cars or ac or acc or iracing and many others) .. Specific races. Like classic muscle car or classic sports car or pre 90s or EV only More diverse motorsport and time period. (There’s no need for All those Gr 3 an 4 cars, at game launch. Over all the other types of motorsport, It’s a waste. For example- 1x formula Ford, 2x 1960 or 1980s 2x 1990s NASCARs, 5x 1990s BTCC Touring Cars (Volvo 850 estate, Audi A4, Nissan Primera, Honda Accord, BMW E30 M3) and 3x 1980s Australian V8 series Bathurst (holden, Ford, Mazda, maybe 4x inc Toyota. That’s only 14 cars not even just GR4 and is Representing 4 Completely different motorsports over 2 to 4 decades

The #9 BMW motorsport McLaren F1 GTR went 113 laps at Hockenheimring (first race for the new '97 F1 GTR), for a total of 479 miles The other #8 BMW motorsport one retired after 29 laps (122 miles), but it went the full distance at silverstone (second race) (277 miles) for a total of 400 miles. So it can't have been either car. Both of the BMW cars went longer than that at Le Mans '97, with the #42 going 236 laps (1,995 mi) and the #43 car went 358 laps (3,026 miles) Edit: I know these were different chassis, but I'm curious as to where the 374 number comes from.
I've been a bit puzzled by the rewards complaints. I've got shit loads of cars, I buy stuff from the used selection that I don't even want. I'm not very good at the game and I don't get to play it very often. Do people just want everything immediately like in other games? GT should be a struggle imo, more rewarding when you finally get the cool stuff.
Exactly. Going from 130k credits to almost 50 million credits in less then a few minutes is a bit extreme. It’s awesome for him for getting gold on everything which is well deserved for Steve. But….It was fun having to actually GRIND for money, or win, and save it. Now you will be able to get damn near any car you want very easily, or any upgrade (which there is nothing wrong with that I suppose) but it was nice having a rare car or a very expensive car that took awhile to get vs having credits quadrupled. I also feel like they may have shot themselves in the foot from a business stand point as far as micro transactions now. No one will ever have to BUY credits again from the P.S. store. Again (nothing wrong with that)
Understandable. But GT has never been a grind game, appart from the 10m+ cars, so its playerbase is accustumed to not having to worry about credits. They just play their favorite modes and with that they get enough credits to buy the cars they want. So by having just 2 or 3 races that give the most credits by far and those races being singleplayer they basically alienated most of the players. Im 50/50 on this subject. I usually play 5 to 6 hrs weekly and its cool when you finish that hard earned R34 but having to play 4 hrs to get it is too much considering its basically a week of my playtime (I play whatever race I want and usually play online so I dont min-max the rewards), so I understand the backlash they got.
@@crawfordd17 Yeah I mean I'm not mad about the change, ultimately I'll get to drive more cars and like you say hopefully it will turn them off the micro transactions (that being said I'm not fundamentally against the model they used in GTSport, never paid for a car, but it never bothered me). Just, it all feels a bit hollow if I can spend a couple of afternoons playing and get most cars. I'm sure I'll get over it, I like the game and I spend most of my time time trialling shit boxes anyway.

One of my earliest playstation memories is not understanding manual transmission on the GT demo, I've been hooked since and part of that has been sinking time into working for rewards. I distinctly remember in GT5 doing stuff I didn't really want to do so I could afford stuff in the used dealership before they dissappeared. Even GTSport, I spent a lot of time on that and still don't have all the cars. According to kudos prime I earned over 60million credits. I don't mean to come across as an apologist for GT7, because I do think they have a lot to work on. I think we're kind of on the same page here, my main issue in terms of rewards is the limited means to get them, rather than the amount offered. I enjoy the 10 lap races, but I prefer road cars to GT3/4, so I'd love some more options to do that format with a wider variety of car. Although to be honest I've had so much fun with reward cars I've not had chance to be too bothered about anything that's particularly high priced. I'll happily spend an afternoon time trailing an old civic and forget the F40 in my garage.

But their approach to super low in game rewards and their predatory microtransactions (i.e. a car costing 10$ vs $2 - $3 in the previous game) made most people lose their shit. I think the new rewards are good, 400 - 500k an hour is fine for me, like you, I enjoy the more common cars but I would lose my shit if the game basically forced me to play this one race over and over and over because theres no other way to make a decent amount of money. So there needs to be a balance between getting too much credits and getting bored easly and getting too little and burning out trying to build your 10-15 car garage. Theres always going to be people at both ends of the spectrum but they need to balance it to where they can keep the most amount of players entertained for the most amount of time. I guess it is a work in progress for PD.
They didnt listen to players, if they did this never would have been an issue in the first place. They listened to CZcamsrs including superGT giving it bad press. The game is still online so they clearly haven't listened.
I would love to see n in game save option so when you're participating in a race with many laps involved and can't finish in one sitting you can save where you are at and continue at a later time.
My hot take is that balancing games is so much harder in modern era because everyone expects all the modes to be interconnected. In older games where there was minimal crossover between online and offline modes you could balance the online for maximum fairness and competitive atmosphere while balancing offline for a satisfying sense of progression and grind without worrying about little exploits or oddities because they didn’t impact the competitive balance. As someone who rarely plays online and doesn’t take it seriously when I do I miss those days.
I'm pretty sure the prize of roulette tickets are determined when you're given the ticket. So you're not actually playing roulette when you clock it you're just relaxing what you won. So increasing the rewards of roulette tickets would only affect tickets you got after the update and any old ones would just reveal the prize you won at the lower chance when you got the ticket.
The roulette is still ALWAYS giving us the lowest prize possible! It is really frustrating! I'm not joking when I say "I would prefer not getting any ticket at all!"
Fanatec McLaren GT3 steering wheel button support (red switches now access MFD settings by default!) is the best thing in this update. Yes yes, and the money. :)
Another credit tip I noticed: grinding until you get a gold and then leaving the mission only gives you the gold credits. If you leave after getting a bronze, you get paid. Then go back in and grind until silver, get paid. Go back and grind until gold. Get paid. I tried this two times on a hunch, and there was a 40% increase in total payout. The second mission I was going to get gold on my first try, so I stopped before the finish. Weird flex.
In my opinion the best thing to do with roulette prizes would be to make them solely additional tuning parts. Earning credits and buying cars is no longer an issue but I really want the special tuning parts and engine swaps. Having played everyday for over a month I have never received an engine swap upgrade and I only have 4-5 special tuning parts.
It’s definitely a good start. Though it’s still annoying that the cars in the legendary car dealership are timed/limited. Fitting gaming into my schedule isn’t easy, I wish they would make it so that nothing was timed and you could buy the cars whenever you wanted. But I guess that would be too easy. But at least it is a little easier to get credits now. Especially with circuit experience! Definitely going to be going back and getting all the golds now lol
Are there any online seasonal events just like in gt6? Trying to beat other players' lap times for the prize (for gt6 it is mostly custom paints and credits) was such a fun! And it is a great way for keeping the game alive
The Roulette has changed! The bias for low coins may be there from time to time BUT they randomize the prizes on the wheel better. My last 4 star ticket had ALL CARS ON IT!
I like Project cars 2 myself because you just choose a class, join a race.....and then your racing. I can't [or don't want to] get my head around all you need to do in GT7 to just get on track and go racing online.
"Pretty easy way to get credits" That nurburgring gold is a 6:37 something. In GTS the gold was a 6:58. In fact, I tried this for a few hours on the weekend and my best is a 6:53. I don't think it is actually that easy :(
It would be cool if there was an auction feature where you can sell your car (with all the modifications you’ve made) online to other players and players can bid for your car and you can pick the highest bidder after a certain time

All that I want is to be able to play the game off offline. Going abroad with my console and I'll have TV access but not necessarily internet guarantee. Would love to play regardless. Interestingly I spent quite a bit with GT Sport offline and had fun, shame GT7 hasn't got that ability yet
The update is beautiful. Just the issue is the mission and circuit experiences are one time only. So that’s obvious cause they always have been that way. But we need more races added to the world circuits. Cause grinding gets boring quick even if it’s the fastest way to get credits by finding a quick grindy event. One thing I bloody wish I still had was my Ferrari invitation it literally expired yesterday and now I can buy every dang Ferrari but I don’t have the invite anymore. My biggest regret was I should have purchased them yesterday cause I had the money but I wanted to get the 2J first and grind again for the La Ferrari and the Enzo. Now I just hope I get an Invite again soon. Lol.
I bought the invite Fxxk 2014 right before the server went down for maint. What a beast of a car that is, so cool to watch the race replay and see the aero moving around!

The roulette actually is changed, however ur tickets are old, and have their rewards set when u got them. So they'll be bad. That same "low cash" reward drops 30k now instead of 5k at new tickets.

Yesterday, the roulette got me a Lamborghini V12 VGT (worth 1,000,000cr) ... it's a change of pace of the last 15 draws that were worth 5,000cr each...
What I would like to see is increase in Sport mode clean racing payout bonus. A decent amount that would really incentivize people to do their best to avoid ramming etc.

Out of maybe 4 invites I've gotten, I had already won the cars on roulette. Those being the GT Citroën road car and the Pagani Huayra. Also won a 6 star card from the daily exercise and won a million from that.

a good step for the offline experience. Online it's dreadful. never had so many unfair racers. More benefiets for unfair riders then racers who want to race hard but fair. Hope they will fixe that. Love the longer races
It's basically a one time 50 millions gift, and a reset to the previous hourly pay rate, ignoring one event you can cheese by exploiting the PP system flaws (but you're not stuck with just the ranch). So basically a "people complain about it ? Let's make it worse so they thank us when we revert", plus let's throw in a little treat in there so they're on adrenaline for a week and put the bad PR fire out. FOMO mechanics are still there, sure they've added more cars at a time in the dealerships, but if the rotation doesn't change, it won't matter in 3 days, you'll could be waiting as much a before for new cars. And some parts + swaps still locked behind extremely low chances RNG, making one of the most anticipated features ever litterally unreachable for most players - and MTX wouldn't even help get access to it ! Also, in terms of game design, this just unbalanced the game even more : you can get more money and more cars early on, making the solo campaign potentially easier, and everything stalls once you roll end credits. If anything I feel like it should be the opposite : money and cars hard to come by early on, forcing you to buy and tune a few select vehicles to tacle the cafe menus (which would end with you using cars you like instead of just what the game conveniently gives you at the right time), and once end credits are rolled, money and cars should flow like a tsunami, so that accessing content isn't a problem when playing online.
a welcome step in the right direction for sure - i just don't understand the reticence to raising rewards for online and custom races. clearly they have some reasons to keep them so low because they've now specifically "addressed" them and still barely raised them, i just can't fathom what they could possibly be. still, i hope GT7 is able to shine a little more now, because it really is a great game with a lot to offer and i genuinely want it to succeed and be an fun, enjoyable experience for years. and i just bought a GT DD Pro setup that i'm very excited to try :P
I just don’t understand why you can’t really play if the internet/server is down. Only ONE pavilion. Everything non-multiplayer should be accessible offline like the older games. Some people can’t get good internet but would love to play this game more often.
The update did not change one damn thing in the roulette game. 10 tickets, 8 lowest prizes the other two were an invitational to Citroen, and a crankshaft I will never use.
It's substantially improved, except for the daily tickets/wheel spin, which always results in the lowest prize. But now I can grind $800k in 30 minutes.
After the apology letter I got 5 roulette prizes that seemed genuinely random. After the latest update, they made the roulette prizes spin, making it take just a tick longer to realize that you are going to get the lowest possible prize 100% of the time. Quite insulting Polyphony.
For the new du mans one make sure you get some wet tires for whatever car you choose. I just reduced the power in GTR '17 that I use religiously and it's going great.

Agreed very hyped, have you or anyone reading this also noticed the cockpit view driving is much better now as well? The drivers hands and wheel move much more now, almost a night and day difference, going around hairpins and having the driver actually putting full lock on the wheel and the animation of the hands coming over the dash? That wasn’t in it before and I haven’t seen anyone mention it

As a very casual GT fan, I hope they add more to the Cafe in the future because I really enjoyed the guided progression. The pacing was nice getting me to try lots of different cars and races and gradually improving (though I am still terrible)
I agree. After you complete all the menus, the entire Cafe becomes useless. I finished Menu 39 maybe two weeks ago and haven't visited it since. They should add some content to it to give it some purpose.

@@zagrebblues9894 the entire purpose of the cafe is to introduce you to the many different things in the game while using a variety of cars. It teaches you how to tune, customize, what mission challenges are, world circuit events are, circuit experiences etc….

On top of post-launch Cafe missions, I'd also love to have the ability to replay past Cafe menus to re-earn cars once they re-implement car selling. It'd make the grind even smoother and a bit more interesting alongside adding a use for the Cafe once even the post-launch missions are completed.
The daily race amount needs increasing drastically. They need to reward all types of players relatively equally and they shouldn't be punishing people for playing online. I don't think daily races should ever be the best way to make money (because you don't want people playing online just for the sake of it being the best way to earn money) but it should be sizable enough that it feels very substantial. Something in the realm of 200k for a daily race seems reasonable to me, perhaps the rewards for top 3 could be even higher.

Given that you can get 1.5m CR per hour in single player modes, only being able get less than 100,000 per hour online is way too low. It would be great if it were around 125,000 for completing the race then add on bonuses for clean race, finishing position and fastest laps.

For those of us that are still not too confident to race online, the offline credit increases are great. That said, yeah....the online player base needs better rewards for the way they play.
Would be nice to bring back qualifying for races so you don’t have to start from the back every time. Also support drivers you can manage to help with endurance races.
Unfortunately that would basically break the entire game.
Polyphony know the AI isn't good enough to race hard with the player, and that's why every event in both this and GT Sport gives the AI a large time advantage and spreads the field at the start.
Not having that, or having a way for you start closer to the front:
you'd easily lead every lap unless the AI had regulation-breaking cars (think of Gran Turismo 2 where some AI cars are above the max power limit for the event).

When I say things that should or shouldn't be here, I mean reducing payouts, thek bringing the selling feature, the roulette rework, fixing the used and legendary cars being shown and taken too quickly and some other things. I'm not telling them to hurry and add things. I'm just saying that when they nerfed payouts, made the roulette and did other things that people didn't like, they shouldn't have done it in the first place. This time that they used to revert and fixed things could have been used to add actual new things to the game instead.

Probably makes a bit of difference with Sony at the head of the project rather than EA.
It can take an incredible long time and sometimes just blind luck to find a problem sometimes, and to sort out unexpected problems that changes to the core game mechanics can sometimes cause. This just shows how much work and effort Polythany has put in to address the players issues with the game. They have always been very good as a company as progressing their games and bringing out quality and until recently free content for their games.

Tuning a car how you want costs 200-400k Cr (not including the price of the car itself).

I play video games for a few hours a night, I don't have time to grind for credits. I'm not going to spend real world money to buy in game credits either. Low credits means you're stuck with limited choices on what to buy. Buy one 3 million credit car and a huge chunk of your money is gone. There also wasn't any incentive to spend time trying to get all gold on the course challenges with no substantial rewards. Now there's a little more reason to play, that's all.

In Endurance races, the bronze, silver and gold rewards stack which equals 1.2M. I didn't get clean bonus despite driving squeaky clean.
Not sure you get the CR bonus in Mission races. However, I'll happily take the fact if you win one of these races, you get all three rewards.

Good update, great to see they starting to fix some of the pay-outs. I would like, to see them fix the Multiplayer and Sports Mode stability of the lobbies, as soon as possible.
I think for the mission endurace races, when you win you earn the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place rewards --> 500,000 + 400,000 + 300,000 = 1,200,000

The custom races have almost doubled in payout, I think there is a limit tho becase for 4 laps u make 70k, I think after 20 it maxes out, so 20 laps and 200 laps pay the same. U have to increase difficulty and put urself back of grid to see even more % increase to payout, also grb & gr1 opponents pays alot more then gr2 and gr3 3rd

I wonder, if the payout was weighted more for clean race bonuses, would that encourage cleaner racing? If you're grinding to get a particular car, you would want to avoid not getting the max amount.
I am quite enjoy the grindings. Rare car should stay rare and the happiness is immeasurable when you finally get one.

Bear in mind also that the roulette tickets have an expiery date on them. Also regarding the Nordschliefe 200 laps. That amount will also go up if you put the pAI level to proffessional and a few of the other penalty things on as well. I did it with an 8 hour endurance this afternoon ( It would pay out a lot more than 163 thousand). I didnt do the 8 hour endurance I was a bit busy this afternoon. lol

Honestly having the Endurance races as missions with a 1 time pay out is the bit that bugs me no one is doing these missions to "Grind" credits and anyway for the same time invested in one of these races you get more credits from Sardegna and Sarthe currently so what does it matter they should make these Endurance missions pay out each time.

I can understand why online credits is not increased by much.....You will get tired of grinding single player races after getting 1st position as it becomes very static and boring, while you can play same multi-player race for hours and hours without getting bored...if they start giving 100k or more for multi-player races then people would unlock all 424 cars within few weeks and then there is nothing else to do unless you are really into multi-player races
With GT7 being a live service and all im betting more events will be added in the future. much like GT6 with the senna event

Specific races. Like classic muscle car or classic sports car or pre 90s or EV only
More diverse motorsport and time period. (There’s no need for All those Gr 3 an 4 cars, at game launch. Over all the other types of motorsport, It’s a waste. For example- 1x formula Ford, 2x 1960 or 1980s 2x 1990s NASCARs, 5x 1990s BTCC Touring Cars (Volvo 850 estate, Audi A4, Nissan Primera, Honda Accord, BMW E30 M3) and 3x 1980s Australian V8 series Bathurst (holden, Ford, Mazda, maybe 4x inc Toyota. That’s only 14 cars not even just GR4 and is Representing 4 Completely different motorsports over 2 to 4 decades

5:45 #42 BMW Motorsport McLaren F1 with 374 miles on it.
The #9 BMW motorsport McLaren F1 GTR went 113 laps at Hockenheimring (first race for the new '97 F1 GTR), for a total of 479 miles
The other #8 BMW motorsport one retired after 29 laps (122 miles), but it went the full distance at silverstone (second race) (277 miles) for a total of 400 miles.
So it can't have been either car.
Both of the BMW cars went longer than that at Le Mans '97, with the #42 going 236 laps (1,995 mi) and the #43 car went 358 laps (3,026 miles)
Edit: I know these were different chassis, but I'm curious as to where the 374 number comes from.

I've been a bit puzzled by the rewards complaints. I've got shit loads of cars, I buy stuff from the used selection that I don't even want. I'm not very good at the game and I don't get to play it very often. Do people just want everything immediately like in other games? GT should be a struggle imo, more rewarding when you finally get the cool stuff.
Exactly. Going from 130k credits to almost 50 million credits in less then a few minutes is a bit extreme. It’s awesome for him for getting gold on everything which is well deserved for Steve. But….It was fun having to actually GRIND for money, or win, and save it. Now you will be able to get damn near any car you want very easily, or any upgrade (which there is nothing wrong with that I suppose) but it was nice having a rare car or a very expensive car that took awhile to get vs having credits quadrupled. I also feel like they may have shot themselves in the foot from a business stand point as far as micro transactions now. No one will ever have to BUY credits again from the P.S. store. Again (nothing wrong with that)
Understandable. But GT has never been a grind game, appart from the 10m+ cars, so its playerbase is accustumed to not having to worry about credits. They just play their favorite modes and with that they get enough credits to buy the cars they want. So by having just 2 or 3 races that give the most credits by far and those races being singleplayer they basically alienated most of the players. Im 50/50 on this subject. I usually play 5 to 6 hrs weekly and its cool when you finish that hard earned R34 but having to play 4 hrs to get it is too much considering its basically a week of my playtime (I play whatever race I want and usually play online so I dont min-max the rewards), so I understand the backlash they got.
@@crawfordd17 Yeah I mean I'm not mad about the change, ultimately I'll get to drive more cars and like you say hopefully it will turn them off the micro transactions (that being said I'm not fundamentally against the model they used in GTSport, never paid for a car, but it never bothered me). Just, it all feels a bit hollow if I can spend a couple of afternoons playing and get most cars.
I'm sure I'll get over it, I like the game and I spend most of my time time trialling shit boxes anyway.
@@nightraider9451 But it has always been a grind one way or another hasn't it? One of my earliest playstation memories is not understanding manual transmission on the GT demo, I've been hooked since and part of that has been sinking time into working for rewards.
I distinctly remember in GT5 doing stuff I didn't really want to do so I could afford stuff in the used dealership before they dissappeared. Even GTSport, I spent a lot of time on that and still don't have all the cars. According to kudos prime I earned over 60million credits.
I don't mean to come across as an apologist for GT7, because I do think they have a lot to work on. I think we're kind of on the same page here, my main issue in terms of rewards is the limited means to get them, rather than the amount offered. I enjoy the 10 lap races, but I prefer road cars to GT3/4, so I'd love some more options to do that format with a wider variety of car. Although to be honest I've had so much fun with reward cars I've not had chance to be too bothered about anything that's particularly high priced.
I'll happily spend an afternoon time trailing an old civic and forget the F40 in my garage.
@@RonnieTheRat Agreed, the game can be enjoyed without the need to have the complete collection of cars. But their approach to super low in game rewards and their predatory microtransactions (i.e. a car costing 10$ vs $2 - $3 in the previous game) made most people lose their shit. I think the new rewards are good, 400 - 500k an hour is fine for me, like you, I enjoy the more common cars but I would lose my shit if the game basically forced me to play this one race over and over and over because theres no other way to make a decent amount of money. So there needs to be a balance between getting too much credits and getting bored easly and getting too little and burning out trying to build your 10-15 car garage. Theres always going to be people at both ends of the spectrum but they need to balance it to where they can keep the most amount of players entertained for the most amount of time. I guess it is a work in progress for PD.
Sometimes I like to use my wheel and pedals while I watch Super GT race. I call it the Real Driving Simulator Simulator.

They didnt listen to players, if they did this never would have been an issue in the first place. They listened to CZcamsrs including superGT giving it bad press. The game is still online so they clearly haven't listened.

I would love to see n in game save option so when you're participating in a race with many laps involved and can't finish in one sitting you can save where you are at and continue at a later time.

My hot take is that balancing games is so much harder in modern era because everyone expects all the modes to be interconnected.
In older games where there was minimal crossover between online and offline modes you could balance the online for maximum fairness and competitive atmosphere while balancing offline for a satisfying sense of progression and grind without worrying about little exploits or oddities because they didn’t impact the competitive balance. As someone who rarely plays online and doesn’t take it seriously when I do I miss those days.
I'm pretty sure the prize of roulette tickets are determined when you're given the ticket. So you're not actually playing roulette when you clock it you're just relaxing what you won. So increasing the rewards of roulette tickets would only affect tickets you got after the update and any old ones would just reveal the prize you won at the lower chance when you got the ticket.
The roulette is still ALWAYS giving us the lowest prize possible! It is really frustrating! I'm not joking when I say "I would prefer not getting any ticket at all!"
I’ll be honest. The increase is better than I exprcted. Makes me happy they listened and didn’t try to FAKE a lame increase. Great stuff!
Fanatec McLaren GT3 steering wheel button support (red switches now access MFD settings by default!) is the best thing in this update. Yes yes, and the money. :)
They really need to update the split-screen multiplayer. For some reason, player 1 is way faster than player 2. Also, there’s a lack of options.
Totally agree. Multiplayer split screen is basically unplayable due to the disadvantage for player 2.
Another credit tip I noticed: grinding until you get a gold and then leaving the mission only gives you the gold credits. If you leave after getting a bronze, you get paid. Then go back in and grind until silver, get paid. Go back and grind until gold. Get paid. I tried this two times on a hunch, and there was a 40% increase in total payout. The second mission I was going to get gold on my first try, so I stopped before the finish. Weird flex.

In my opinion the best thing to do with roulette prizes would be to make them solely additional tuning parts. Earning credits and buying cars is no longer an issue but I really want the special tuning parts and engine swaps. Having played everyday for over a month I have never received an engine swap upgrade and I only have 4-5 special tuning parts.
It’s definitely a good start. Though it’s still annoying that the cars in the legendary car dealership are timed/limited. Fitting gaming into my schedule isn’t easy, I wish they would make it so that nothing was timed and you could buy the cars whenever you wanted.
But I guess that would be too easy. But at least it is a little easier to get credits now. Especially with circuit experience! Definitely going to be going back and getting all the golds now lol
That's something in older GT, the used cars (legend cars are also another used cars) yet it got ignored.
Are there any online seasonal events just like in gt6? Trying to beat other players' lap times for the prize (for gt6 it is mostly custom paints and credits) was such a fun! And it is a great way for keeping the game alive
Also custom races are providing a better payout depending on your slider adjustments for difficulty but you can make roughly 60k for a 10 lap race.

The Roulette has changed! The bias for low coins may be there from time to time BUT they randomize the prizes on the wheel better. My last 4 star ticket had ALL CARS ON IT!

That nurburgring gold is a 6:37 something. In GTS the gold was a 6:58. In fact, I tried this for a few hours on the weekend and my best is a 6:53. I don't think it is actually that easy :(

All that I want is to be able to play the game off offline. Going abroad with my console and I'll have TV access but not necessarily internet guarantee. Would love to play regardless. Interestingly I spent quite a bit with GT Sport offline and had fun, shame GT7 hasn't got that ability yet

The update is beautiful. Just the issue is the mission and circuit experiences are one time only. So that’s obvious cause they always have been that way. But we need more races added to the world circuits. Cause grinding gets boring quick even if it’s the fastest way to get credits by finding a quick grindy event.
One thing I bloody wish I still had was my Ferrari invitation it literally expired yesterday and now I can buy every dang Ferrari but I don’t have the invite anymore. My biggest regret was I should have purchased them yesterday cause I had the money but I wanted to get the 2J first and grind again for the La Ferrari and the Enzo. Now I just hope I get an Invite again soon. Lol.
I bought the invite Fxxk 2014 right before the server went down for maint. What a beast of a car that is, so cool to watch the race replay and see the aero moving around!

Uh yeah thankfully I got that one as soon as possible. I love it it’s so amazing and fun to drive. I did a mission with it and was like I need this car for myself. Money well spent. Hope they add the Evo version some day.

To get 1.2 million credits from a race is if you finish first you'll get Gold, Silver and Bronze payout, which totals 1.2 million
The roulette actually is changed, however ur tickets are old, and have their rewards set when u got them. So they'll be bad. That same "low cash" reward drops 30k now instead of 5k at new tickets.
I enjoy doing the 24hr Track Race. 35 minutes of clean driving gets you some mad loot.
Omg, thank god they fixed the dirt track jumps, lol. You could land absolutely perfectly and you'd still spin out of control. I was grinding that one lap dirt race last night and it was driving me nuts.

Yesterday, the roulette got me a Lamborghini V12 VGT (worth 1,000,000cr) ... it's a change of pace of the last 15 draws that were worth 5,000cr each...
What I would like to see is increase in Sport mode clean racing payout bonus. A decent amount that would really incentivize people to do their best to avoid ramming etc.

Am I the only one thinking the circuit experience payouts are way too high? 6 million for completing the Nurburgring? Need more events, less payouts for circuit experience, award people credits for beating their own time/friend's time,...
Hopefully the resale value is around what they would go for in the used car dealership. Depending on mileage, upgrades ect!!

Out of maybe 4 invites I've gotten, I had already won the cars on roulette. Those being the GT Citroën road car and the Pagani Huayra. Also won a 6 star card from the daily exercise and won a million from that.
i am so glad Polyphony Digital listened. i would have been quite heartbroken if my favourite game series of all time got ruined by greedy corporations like some of my personal favourites already have.
a good step for the offline experience. Online it's dreadful. never had so many unfair racers. More benefiets for unfair riders then racers who want to race hard but fair. Hope they will fixe that. Love the longer races
In GT4 a 1 lap race at Nordschleife gave 150,000 credits, if I'm not mistaken
It's basically a one time 50 millions gift, and a reset to the previous hourly pay rate, ignoring one event you can cheese by exploiting the PP system flaws (but you're not stuck with just the ranch). So basically a "people complain about it ? Let's make it worse so they thank us when we revert", plus let's throw in a little treat in there so they're on adrenaline for a week and put the bad PR fire out. FOMO mechanics are still there, sure they've added more cars at a time in the dealerships, but if the rotation doesn't change, it won't matter in 3 days, you'll could be waiting as much a before for new cars. And some parts + swaps still locked behind extremely low chances RNG, making one of the most anticipated features ever litterally unreachable for most players - and MTX wouldn't even help get access to it !
Also, in terms of game design, this just unbalanced the game even more : you can get more money and more cars early on, making the solo campaign potentially easier, and everything stalls once you roll end credits. If anything I feel like it should be the opposite : money and cars hard to come by early on, forcing you to buy and tune a few select vehicles to tacle the cafe menus (which would end with you using cars you like instead of just what the game conveniently gives you at the right time), and once end credits are rolled, money and cars should flow like a tsunami, so that accessing content isn't a problem when playing online.
a welcome step in the right direction for sure - i just don't understand the reticence to raising rewards for online and custom races. clearly they have some reasons to keep them so low because they've now specifically "addressed" them and still barely raised them, i just can't fathom what they could possibly be.
still, i hope GT7 is able to shine a little more now, because it really is a great game with a lot to offer and i genuinely want it to succeed and be an fun, enjoyable experience for years. and i just bought a GT DD Pro setup that i'm very excited to try :P
I just don’t understand why you can’t really play if the internet/server is down. Only ONE pavilion. Everything non-multiplayer should be accessible offline like the older games. Some people can’t get good internet but would love to play this game more often.
The update did not change one damn thing in the roulette game. 10 tickets, 8 lowest prizes the other two were an invitational to Citroen, and a crankshaft I will never use.
It's substantially improved, except for the daily tickets/wheel spin, which always results in the lowest prize. But now I can grind $800k in 30 minutes.
the endurance races and many other pay out all 3 prized as you get them, gold first time will pay all 3=500k, 400k, 300k=1.2 mil
After the apology letter I got 5 roulette prizes that seemed genuinely random. After the latest update, they made the roulette prizes spin, making it take just a tick longer to realize that you are going to get the lowest possible prize 100% of the time. Quite insulting Polyphony.
For the new du mans one make sure you get some wet tires for whatever car you choose. I just reduced the power in GTR '17 that I use religiously and it's going great.
As someone who plays incredibly casually(maybe an hour a day?) this is great for improvements economy wise. Glad they are listening to the players.
