A provincial town that people like to call the second Prague, only calm and quiet.
There is still debate about who founded this city. Local residents believe that Olomouc was built by Caesar, which historians have been happy to dispute. The latest discovery confused them a little, because during the excavations a Roman camp was discovered.
The founding date of the city is considered to be the thirteenth century. Previously, it was called Olmutz. The cozy area is located in the east of the Czech Republic and is located on the Morava River. The moderately warm climate is conducive to exploring local attractions: St. Wenceslas Cathedral, St. Mauritius Church, Museum of Modern Art, Town Hall, Aviation Museum, Column of the Holy Trinity, Bouzov Castle.
    Interesting facts about the city
In the past, the city was the capital and heart of Moravia.
Olomouc is second in the Czech Republic in terms of the number of monuments and buildings with wonderful architecture.
It was in this place that eleven-year-old Mozart gained strength after chickenpox and wrote the famous Sixth Symphony.
The composer Gustav Mahler lived here and hated this place. Being a vegetarian, he asked in all establishments about the availability of spinach. Arrogant waiters offered to try pork.
Mahler's idol, Richard Wagner, died almost at the same time as the composer's father. Mahler wandered through the streets of the city, shedding tears. Everyone thought that he was mourning his father, and the guy was tormented by grief for his beloved composer.
