    I can’t stand road running since I started trail running in Scotland! You can’t beat clean air and the sound of nature 👌

    Awesome film!! Love the mix of ages, just shows everybody can run trails and get more from them than pavement plodding :)

    I started trail running back in late 2019 and haven't looked back since. Started with short runs around 3 miles and now run at least 8-10 miles each time regardless of the weather (except in thunder storms though). The right kit is really important - especially in the colder months.

    I was forced to the road because of the gas shortage this week and each run drained me more than the one before. I am returning to the mountains tomorrow. Thank goodness.

    So I am interested in trail running because the word running is the common movement we all lost in recent centuries. I run for my hobbies and for my health. Then I'm also a outdoor enthusiast and a avid illustrator. To which I would like to say exploring places by my own foot and manually generated transportation to enhance my health and visualization. At first I done my running on treadmill slowly and progressively running outside. I'm running on a road because I'm an city guy. But I wish to get the foundations mastered to running on trail.

    That is a wonderful video Claire, Well Done! Pleasure with health benefits is a winning combo that I think many will relate to. And I enjoyed the simple and straightforward notion of - get some grippy shoes, enjoy yourself, and enjoy the cake.

    With the current covid19 pandemic, now is the time to learn and get good at trail running. It's gets you away from all the people. I jog at a hilly park and all the walkers and runners strive to stay on the pavement areas of the narrow sidewalks and the narrow roads of the park. It gets crowded with people trying to walk and run right next to each other on the pavement. Little do they know that waking and running on the soil and grassy hills of the park gives you a better workout due to the variation of movements and less stress on the joints. Also, off topic, but can anyone share what Inov jacket the first woman who speaks to the camera is wearing in the video?. I am in the USA so I am not too familiar with that brand.

    Lovely video - just shared it on the Hampshire Hoppit trail running FB page to help our new trail runners that are considering the Hoppit trail marathon or trail half marathon on 9 June 2019. We have 915 followers so should be a fair amount of interest. Would be lovely to see you at the Hoppit 2019 yourself Claire, maybe?

    Nice video but it didn’t really explain all you need to know. The first four minutes told me I’ll lose weight and de-stress. I’m 8 1/2 stone and very chilled. The remaining three minutes said get some grippy shoes and start running. So is that really all I need to know?

    • @wildgingerruns
      @wildgingerruns  Před 3 lety

      Howdie, and a warm welcome to you! The significance of that 17st of weight depends on how tall you are and your body type, but if you are concerned about putting pressure on your joints when running I would recommend losing the weight via walking and healthy eating before starting to run a great deal. You could start with the free NHS couch to 5k app which guides you through it with a walk-run approach. Good luck and let us know how you get on! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! Claire

    An almost impossible question to answer, but as an experienced hill walker, cyclist and schoolboy [15th century it fees like!] sprinter would it be wise for me to start my running doing trail running as opposed to road type running?
