They went to ethopia because the african king there was known to be so kind, and accepting of others and strange ideas.
We arabs called him Al-Najashi, the king who never shadows his people ( referring to his kind demeanor ). They stayed there to regroup from conflict basically.
The king is named najashi, while the region was called “habasha”.

A lot of errors and misrepresentations here. Let me mention some. First off, the first Muslims who fled to Abbyssinia, modern day Ethiopia via Saila, North West Somalia, were led by Ja’far Abu Dalib and the reason being persecution by Quraish and it was advised by the Prophet himself starting that there’s (in Ethiopia) a just king who would offer you an asylum. Plus, the Quraish, upon learning that they escaped towards Ethiopia, dispatched a group of men contesting their legitimate asylum seeking. Upon arrival, both sides presented their cases in front of the King Najashi who granted the Prophet’s apostles an asylum after they recited a chapter of the Qur’an dealing how Mary conceived Jesus Christ and his miraculous birth at which point the King himself being Christian and knowledgeable of his faith, wept due to emotion. Secondly, there’s no enmity between Othman bin Affan and the Prophet, and after embracing the faith not converting, Othman’s daughter, Hafsa was later married by the Prophet thus becoming in-laws. Third, Abu Bakar’s succession of the Prophet was based on a hint given by the Prophet himself after he nodded to him to lead the last prayer at the mosque attended by the Prophet which was interpreted as a signal to the apostles to elect Abu Bakar. Lastly, I don’t have space here, but I conclude my comment by saying that the narrator has omitted the theological part of the history of early Islam. Another thing I have to mention here is that, it was Mu’awiya Bin Abu Sufyan who hailed from Osman’s sub-clan who established the dynasty (ummuwiyah) in Dimuscus… I wish I had the time to correct you. But all in all, it seems this man has derived this from non-Islamic sources! Having said that there’s a lot of correct information in here as well!!!!

Just watched a quarter of this video and while it is very good there are a few mistakes.
    1) Muslims did not migrate to abysinnia because of a inter Muslim dispute. They left because there was a genuine fear that the small community would be eliminated because it was only located in Makkah. A few Muslim families moved to abysinnia so that Islam would be preserved.
    2) They were lead by Uthman IBN affan ( not IBN mazun) who was from the Ummayad clan but he was also the son in law of the Prophet. The central piece of Islam is believing in the oneness of God and believing Muhammad and other prophets to be messengers and prophets of God. So if you dispute leadership with the Prophet of your time, you are essentially an apostate.
    3) after the third battle, the Jews of Banu qurayza were judged by a former ally (Saad IBN muadh) according to the old testament. The punishment for treason in the old testament and Talmudic law was execution for the men and enslavement for women and children.
The previous two tribes were expelled in their entirety from the city. Most of them settled in the oasis of khaybar while a few moved to Syria. From khaybar, they actively participated in the wars against Muslims on the makkan side. They induced Banu qurayza to commit treason.
    4) the control of the ka'ba Was not given to the Prophets clan. The keys of the ka'bah were given to an adversary of the Prophet, Uthman IBN talha who then converted to Islam. The keys of the ka'bah are still with this family Banu shayba. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bani_Shaiba
    5) in the old testament, there has never been a prophet who has claimed to be the Final Prophet. So no, you haven't heard that before 😊

Having read the Quran but by no means an expert I caught many of these differences as well. Perhaps he was only using non-religious sources?
I think the 'last prophet' jab has come from many modern cults with leaders who claim to be the last prophet. Like Moon in Korea claims Jesus got it wrong and he was sent to fix that mistake of love and marriage. Joseph Smith from US Mormonism claimed to be the final prophet because God sent him to correct the mistake in belief that middle America was the real garden of eden. Or John the Baptist from South America who was the last prophet and got acclaim even from people like Oprah and other famous people, he used his fame and control over the cult to sexually assault countless women. David Koresh in Texas called himself the last prophet... the list goes on and on.
As-salamu alaykum my brother, thank you again.

@@josephmatthews7698 The concept of being the "last prophet" did not exist before Prophet Muhammad. All these names you mentioned came after him, not before. It was a completely novel idea in his time. The idea of revelation coming to a halt for all eternity.
Other people saw how popular it was in Islam, and tried using it. All of it can be traced back to Prophet Muhammad. Before him, no recorded man in history had even claimed to be a final messenger. No one of any note anyway.

Brilliant work. This is an in-depth view of the birth of Islam. My only comment is on the segment where early Muslims emigrated to Ethiopia. It wasn’t by tribal rivalry, but more due to prophet Mohammad’s early experience in trade where he heard of the then king of Ethiopia and hoped to open a branch of Islam there under the protection of said king so the trip (one of two tries to establish Islam in Ethiopia) was ordered by him as a way to ease pressure off his followers and a to divert the effort of Quraich.

Overall your content is good but I suggest reading multiple sources before making a claim. Anyone who has any prior knowledge or context to Islamic history can easily tell some of the claims are from side x and or y that was made years after the events for different political reasons.

    • @Munthasir123
      @Munthasir123 Před 2 lety +15

      Also two more things:
Tribal structure existed but not monarchy in Arab culture. Islam established meritocracy something which was not well understood by former Sasanid portion of the empire. As we have seen many times in history with many religions that as it travels to different parts of the world it mixes local culture with religious beliefs. That is why most of Ali’s supporters came from the eastern part of the empire and also later those eastern parts became Shia while most of the Arabian peninsula remained Sunni. There are many accounts where Ali didn’t want to be in position of leadership and as mentioned he was young and knew his time would come and as per Arabian culture respected the elders. Many of Ali’s story were later fabricated by Shia to make their believers get pissed at Sunnis and many stories were made up by Sunni sultans and historians to cite reasoning behind why battle with Ali was inevitable. Again reading multiple source would have given you a clearer picture and if you don’t buy either side then you could have cited both saying this is what each side claims which is something many other CZcamsrs do.

    • @Munthasir123
      @Munthasir123 Před 2 lety +15

      Secondly,
Prophet didn’t give the key of Kaba to his tribe for any monarchical structure but rather because of tradition. Also he didn’t give it to his tribe. He gave it to a specific family again because of tradition. Not even Shia scholars dispute that so I don’t know where that claim came from.
On the conquest of Makkah, the Prophet was given the keys to the Kaaba and instead of keeping it in his own possession; he returned them back to the Osman ibn Talha of the Bani Shaiba family. They had been the traditional key keepers of the Kaaba for centuries; and the Prophet confirmed them in that role till the end of time by these words
“Take it, O Bani Talha, eternally up to the Day of Resurrection, and it will not be taken from you unless by an unjust, oppressive tyrant.”

Also for all the criticism I have made I have to thank you for pointing out the hypocrisy of many later Islamic rulers. Forceful conversation certainly happened in places because some religious people go nutts even though forced conversation is strictly prohibited in Islam but majority times Islamic kingdoms didn’t want people to convert to Islam because they couldn’t collect lucrative Jijya tax from non Muslims. There are even cases where Arab Islamic kingdoms told non Arab Muslims that they were not true Muslims since they aren’t Arab therefore Jijya tax was valid upon them. I think some Ottoman Sultans also created laws where your father or grandfather had to be Muslim for you not to pay Jijya tax. It’s ridiculous but hey end of the day money talks for them religion was simply a political tool.

For the time being, we're stuck with limited information that the public knows, which isn't much. The Arabs consisted of 5% of the entire Ummayads Empire The subjects were Persians, Romans, Jews, Coptics, Berbers, Visgoth etc it's like calling USA an English empire just because the 13 states started of English and speak English doesn't make the USA an English empire. Or calling South America a Spanish empire

    • @ismaeilalfahim1552

But that’s exactly what you would call them.. the colonies were part of the British Empire and Latin America was definitely part of the Spanish Empirical system for much of their recent history. Demographics are irrelevant when talking about the identity of the Empire when the leadership, language and religion is so entrenched in Arab culture. The Roman Empire had ethnic Roman’s as a minority, so did the British Empire. Any problems with calling it an Arab Empire stems from Crusade-era Arab hate or a misunderstanding of the concept of an expansionist Empire. Logically, the more an Empire grows, the more ethnically diverse it will become and thus the governing party will occupy an increasingly smaller minority.

It would be much better to refer to the Caliphates as 'Islamic' and not 'Arab.'
EDIT: Since there have been quite a few people disagreeing with me about what I said in my original comment, I thought I'd elaborate a bit and explain the reasons behind my claim.
During the Umayyad period the head of the state (the Caliph) was obviously an Arab, and the military was almost exclusively comprised of Arabs; but the artisans, the architects, and the administrative body of the caliphate were definitely comprised of non-Arabs (mostly Syrians at the heart of the caliphate, and Persians and Assyrians further east.)
During the Abbasid period the role of the Arabs was reduced to a marginal one. The administrative body was overwhelmingly Persian. Almost all the viziers that served the Abbasid caliphs were of Persian background, and as you may know, most political and administrative decisions were made by the vizier and not the caliph. The legendary capital city of the Abbasid caliphate-Baghdad, which means 'God-given' in Persian-was built by two Persian architects. The scientific, literary, scholarly, and artistic scenery of Abbasid society-especially but not only in the east and the 'heartlands'-was overrun by Persians; although other minorites also played an important role, namely Jews and Assyrians.
Regarding the Abbasid military, it was initially run by and extremely reliant on Persians, since Persians were the main backers of the Abbasid Revolution. As the Abbasids strengthened their hold onto power they sought to distance themselves from the Persians and reduce their reliance on them; so they replaced a large number of Persians in their military with Arabs (even going as far as executing some of their high ranking Persian military personnel). Later on Turks came along and now they were the main players in Abbasid military.
So as you can see, the two big caliphates in Islamic history can't really be considered 'Arab.'

I watched about 25 minutes of the video and there were quite a few things that you misunderstood. It would've been good to do research on what Islam says about these things.
    1) Aisha (RA) and Ali (RA) never had any hatred for each other. In fact (Chapter 24 verses 11 to 18) are the verses that were revealed to clear Aisha (RA). There was never any issue between them. In fact, there is a narration that the Prophet (SAW) said to Ali (RA) that there will be a problem between you and Aisha. Ali was shocked and he said "Then I must have a really horrible end" and the prophet (SAW) told him "no, but if it does happen then return her to the safety of her home".
This is why later on, when the Muslims were fighting and Aisha and Ali were on opposite sides, Ali sent a group of his people to protect Aisha and take her back home safely.
    2) The reason why Quraish never wanted Islam to prevail is because they could never understand the catch to it. Most of the time when someone called others to something, it was so they could become rich or become a leader but the prophet (SAW) was calling people to worship their lord and be kind to others, he was teaching them to have good character.
    3) The prophet (SAW) was teaching Islam to close family and friends for a while before a chapter in the Quran was revealed to him to spread Islam in public: (Chapter 74)
    4) Abu Bakr (RA) became the leader of the Muslims after prophet Muhammad (SAW) passed away. This is because when the Prophet (SAW) was sick and couldn't lead one of the prayers, Abu Bakr was the one that was asked to lead. The companions of the Prophet (SAW) said "if Abu Bakr was allowed to lead the prayer while the prophet (SAW) was alive, then he should be the one that leads us after the prophet (SAW) passed away.
    5) The Muslims migrated to Abyssinia because they were being oppressed in Mecca. The prophet (SAW) told them to go there because there was a king who was a just leader who might have let them live there peacefully. It was nothing to do with spreading Islam there or trade relations. In fact, they spoke with each other about the story of Prophet eesa (AS), what the Christians believed about him and what the Muslims believed. I think , eventually, the king of Abyssinia became a Muslim I believe.
    6) No one claimed to be the final prophet before this, that's why in Islam, the first pillar in Islam is to testify that Allah is the only god and that Muhammad is the last messenger.

    1. Banu Hashim, the tribe that Muhammad descends from, wasn't a lesser clan, it was among the most well known clans for their honesty in business and their lineage that goes back to the.patriarch prophet Ishmael. When Muhammad's Arab enemies were asked by King Heraclius whether Muhammad descended from a good enough nobility to even claim prophethood, the Arabs confessed that Banu Hashim was a noble family.
    2. Muhammad's beloved companion Uthman did not go to Ethiopia because he was a rival of Muhammad, who saw his Ummayad tribe as being better than Banu Hashim (why even allege that?). It is quite known to historians that many of the elderly, women and young Muslims had to seek asylum in Ethiopia at that time and that the Axum King Najashi himself gave shelter to them because they were being persecuted in Mecca.
    3. @21:36 Did Muhammad end up being the last most successful prophet with a world fellowship of over 1 billion adherants worldwide? Name another person since his birth who has managed a prophethood that is as well known and relevant in today's discourses?
    4. Whatever infighting that many westerners think existed between the family of Aisha and the family of Ali was non-existent when Aisha's assembled army met the assembled army of Ali to join forces against the army of Muawiya, when it was Ali's turn to be the Caliph, because they are both considered 'Ahl El Beit' members of the family, of the same house. The problem was that there were Khawarij installed in both armies and they're the ones who wanted to raise tensions and sow dishonor in the ranks after the death of Uthman.
Ali was 4th in line after the prophet Muhammad pbuh and he wouldnt have humbly accepted each time, first with Abu Bakr, and then 2nd to Omar, 3rd to Uthman, if he didn't respect and love those companions, who he had been in many battles with him side by side. Some of them becoming relatives to Ali through their intermarriages with the Prophet's daughters.

Historians do not deny Mohammed was a historical figure, but reports of him are around 670, 30 years after his supposed death. But there is a reason for that - MOhammed had to be dead so that the empire was won as a result of Islam, not the opposite.

It wasn’t Muawiya that plagiarized the notes
It was another cousin in Medina named Marwan ibn Hakim who stamped it on behalf of Uthman because he marwan was protecting his cousin who was ruling in Egypt
You see what happened was marwan was the one who would stamp notes on behalf of Uthman with his permission
But when marwan saw the angry rebels from Egypt visit Uthman his cousin he sent an envoy to his cousin ruling Egypt about the situation and to kill the rebels who come back to Egypt
But uthman was compliant to the protestors so what he did was acknowledge there demands which you mentioned
But by than Marwan has already sent the envoy which h to e rebels actually intercepted on their way back to Egypt
So the rebels understandably thought this was uthmans work

Despite the fact that most of this video is balanced, there are pivotal errors like claiming Uthman left Makkah for Ethipioa due to rivalry with the Prophet (SAW), which is incorrect. A daughter of the Prophet married Uthman, and after her death, he remarried another daughter of the Prophet who also passed away. The Prophet Muhammad told him that he would gladly give him another daughter if he had any other left (they weren't forced marriages, forced marriages are not permitted by Islam).

*15 Astonishing facts About Islam That you Really don't know !*
*1)* *“Islam” means “surrender” or “submission”* . “Salam” (which means “peace”) is the root word of “Islam”. In a religious context the word “Islam” means “the surrendering of one’s will (without compulsion) to the true will of God in an effort to achieve peace”.
*2)* *“Muslim” means “anyone or anything that surrenders itself to the true will of God”.* By this definition, everything in nature (trees, animals, planets, etc.) are “muslims” because they are in a state of surrender to God’s will. In other words, they are fulfilling the purpose for which God created them.
*3)* *Islam is not a new religion or cult.* It is a universal way of life and civilization. *Again, Islam is not a new religion,* rather it is the same message preached by all earlier prophets such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them all). But God’s final message to mankind was revealed to the last prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him), as a revival of lost teachings of previous prophets and as a reconfirmation of the eternal message. Studies show that between 1.5 and 1.8 billion people in the world identify their religion as Islam. Along with Judaism and Christianity it traces its roots through Prophet Abraham and back to the first humans Adam and Eve.
*4)* *There are five pillars of practice in Islam.* These practices must be undertaken with the best of effort in order to be considered a true Muslim: A) Declaration of faith: A statement proclaiming the belief in One God and that Muhammad is a prophet of God. To become Muslim a person simply recites this statement publicly, and in Arabic. B) Formal prayer five times a day. C) Poor-due tax: 2.5% of one’s excess wealth given to the needy once a year. D) Fasting during the daylight hours in the month of Ramadan. E) Pilgrimage to Mecca at least once, if physically and financially able.
*5)* *There are six articles of faith in Islam.* These are the basic beliefs that one must have in order to be considered a true Muslim. They are belief in: A) the One God. B) all of the true prophets of God. C) the original scriptures revealed to Moses, David, Jesus and Muhammad. D) the angels. E) the Day of Judgment and the Hereafter. F) destiny.
*6)* *Muslims believe in the one Creator of the Universe, referring to Him as “Allah”* which is the Arabic word for “God”. Muslims worldwide, even English-speaking Muslims, frequently use the Arabic word “Allah” because Arabic is the language of the Qur’an. But Allah is no different than the God of Abraham, Moses and Jesus. The Creator is the Creator regardless of what people call Him. In the English language He is most commonly referred to as “God”. Yet Jesus spoke a different language, referring to God as “Eloi” in Mark 15:34 of the New Testament. Are “God” and “Eloi” different gods? Many Hispanics call God “Dios” and many French say “Dieu”. It would logically follow then that people who refer to God as “Allah” in the Arabic language are referring to the very same God. In fact, many Arab Jews and Arab Christians call God “Allah”. And the word “Allah” is written in Arabic script on the walls of many Arab churches and on the pages of Arabic Bibles. So while the understanding of God may differ between faith groups, the various names used to describe Him does not change the fact that the one Creator of the Universe is the God of all people.
This is *Allah* Almighty, The Creator, the one and only true God. He is my God, our God:
*"Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi (Throne) extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."*
    (Quran 2:255)
*{Say, “He is Allah, the One. Allah, to Whom the creatures turn for their needs. He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none like Him.” }*
    (Quran, 112:1-4)
Allah Almighty says in the Quran:
*"Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."*
    [Quran 39:53]
*7)* *The Islamic concept of God* is that He is loving, merciful and compassionate. Islam also teaches that He is all-knowing and the perfect judge of affairs, and will punish (or forgive) accordingly. However, Allah once said to Muhammad, “My mercy prevails over my wrath”. So Islam teaches a balance between fear and hope, protecting one from both complacency and despair.
*8)* *Muslims believe that God has revealed 99 of His names, or attributes, in the Qur’an.* It is through these names that one can come to know the Creator. A few of these names are the All-Merciful, the All-Knower, the Protector, the Provider, the Near, the First, the Last, the Hidden and the Source of All Peace.
*9)* *The Christian concept of “vicarious atonement” (the idea that Jesus died for the sins of humanity) is alien to the Islamic concept of personal responsibility.* Islam teaches that on the Day of Judgment every person will be resurrected and will be accountable to God for their every word and deed. Consequently, a practicing Muslim is always striving to be righteous while hoping and praying for God’s acceptance and grace.
*10)* *Muslims believe in all of the true prophets* that preceded Muhammad, from Adam to Jesus. Muslims believe they brought the same message of voluntarily surrendering to God’s will (islam, in a generic sense) to different peoples at different times. Muslims also believe they were “muslims” (again, in a generic sense) since they followed God’s true guidance and surrendered their will to Him.
*11)* *Muslims neither worship Muhammad nor pray through him.* Muslims worship the Unseen, Omniscient Creator, Allah.
*12)* *Muslims accept the original unaltered Torah (as revealed to Moses) and the original unaltered Bible (as revealed to Jesus)* since they were revealed by God. But none of these scriptures exist today in their original form or in their entirety. Therefore, Muslims follow the subsequent, final and preserved revelation of God, the Qur’an.
*13)* *The Qur’an was not authored by Muhammad.* It was authored by God, revealed to Muhammad (through angel Gabriel) and written into physical form by his companions.
*14)* *The original Arabic text of the Qur’an contains no flaws or contradictions* and has not been altered since its revelation.
*15)* *Actual 7th century Qur’ans, complete and intact,* are on display in museums in Turkey and other places around the world.

Islam with its universal concept of brotherhood rejects all artificial and man-made marks of distinction.
Allah Almighty says in the noble Quran:
"O mankind, indeed We (Allah) have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted."
    *(Quran 49:13)*
No one can claim any superiority over the other based on race, color, language or wealth and this is emphasized in the last sermon of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) showing high regard of humanity irrespective of color or race:
"“All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor does a black have any superiority over a white except by piety and good action.”
🔹️ *How to convert (revert) to Islam*
Basically to become a Muslim is very simple.. you need to say the decleration of faith oraly while you believe in it by heart with a firm conviction and unshakeable faith.
*The decleration of Faith in Islam (The Shahada)*
The Shahada (in Arabic) can be declared as follows :
    *“ASH-HADU ANLA ELAHA ILLA-ALLAH WA ASH-HADU ANNA MOHAMMADAN RASUL-ALLAH”*
    The English translation is :
*“I bear witness that there is no deity (none truly to be worshipped) but, Allah, and I bear witness that Mohammad is the messenger of Allah.”*
However, it would not be sufficient for anyone to only utter this testimony oraly either in private or in public; but rather, he should believe in it by heart with a firm conviction and unshakeable faith. If one is truly sincere and complies with the teachings of Islam in all his life, he will find himself a new born person.

Good video. Just one question. You refer to the people as Turks many times throughout the video. At this time (800-1100), where would the people group known as the Turks be from? Present Kurdistan? Caucus? Present day Turkmenistan?

I got ya brother! Yes, at this time period the Turkic people's would be inhabiting modern Turkmenistan and the surrounding area within Central/Central-East/Central-South Asia and would make a huge migration to Anatolia, pushing back and taking over the Roman lands.

History of religion is so interesting. It's usually about the power and ambition of men, and has very little to do with God.

it's interesting when Jesus Christ was fasting the devil took him to a mountiain and said look out, i will give you all these kingdoms if you worship me, He refused. It seems like Mohamed was taken to the same mountain was was like "yep, lets start killing, i want my empire". no wonder islam is desperate to say the bible was corrupted since it makes them look very bad. the dead sea scrolls prove the accuracy of the bible, you can choose to believe or not, but we can't say what is in the Christian Bible is not copied accurately all the way back to the time of Christ.

The early migration to Abyssinia was to avoid persecution in Makkah. There was no conflict or animosity.
The reports about Ali laying is the bed of the prophet appear to be fabrications.
There is not a single authentic Shia report of Umar striking Fatimah. Shia reports are not even considered to be historically valid, but even from shia ahadeeth, the story of Umar striking Fatimah is absolutely baseless. Ali did not resist the accession of Abu Bakr in any way. There was no animosity between Ali and Aisha.
    29:03
The other candidates were Zubair ibn al-Awwam, Talha ibn Ubaidillah, Abdurahman ibn Auf and Sa’ad ibn Abi Waqqas. Umar’s son Abdullah was also present but not as a candidate.
Ali wished to restabalise the Caliphate before dealing with the killers of Uthman. Mu’awiyah recognised Ali as legitimate but disagreed with him and withheld his allegiance to until the killers of Uthman were punished.

Just to clear please get your sources right firstly. Take it as a request
There has been no tension between hazrat Ali, prophets wife Aisha (RA), Hazrat abu bakr and hazrat Umar. And Hazrat Fatima was not pregnant as you stated at (25:42).
Hazrat ali named some of his sons after hazrat Umar and Hazrat Abu bakr.
The daughter of Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Fatima “um kuthum bint ali” was even married to Hazrat Umar.
There was just a small misunderstanding that happened between Hazrat Aisha and Hazrat Ali when Hazrat usman was martyred and Hazrat Ayesha was asking for revenge but Hazrat Ali wanted to stop all the fighting within the Muslims that where happening because of the khawarij.
