  • In this video we go in depth in to the Spektrum Smart Checker!
The Spektrum XBC100 Smart Battery Checker is a must have tool for any pilot or drivers pit box. More than a battery checker, it features a built-in cell balancer, integrated servo tester and driver, and Spektrum Smart battery connectivity.
When used with a Spektrum Smart battery, you will be able to see and adjust many of the settings only available with a Spektrum Smart charger. This includes one connection for balance and battery level checking, and providing records like number of cycles, internal battery temperature and exception reports. You can even adjust Smart battery settings right from the XBC100.
The XBC100 also features a Qualcomm 3.0 USB charge port, giving you an easy way to keep your mobile device and Spektrum Smart Transmitters charged when USB power ports are scarce. Better yet, the XBC100 gives you the ability to better setup and test your models with the built in servo tester! Center and test your servo endpoints easily with the integrated PWM output port.
Finally, all of this is displayed on a full color IPS LCD screen that is designed to be easy to read in direct sunlight and is accessed via a user friendly touch interface.
Learn more about the Smart checker and get yours today from your local Spektrum retailer!

Well explained & presented thank you. I don't have smart batteries as too expensive in Australia but great for standard LIPO's & a bit better screen than the less expensive ISDT BG-8S

    • @JAKOB1977
      @JAKOB1977 Před 3 lety +2

It's the same, why do you think it another screen?.
quite the contrary..the BG 8S looks superior and from the picture it looks like there are only 2 decimals and that's a thing I love about the ISDT BG 8S vs my lesser model BC-8S that also only have 2 decimals rotordisc.dk/images/BC-8S.jpg
while the bigger brother BG 8S have decimals 3 digits i.imgur.com/fLVGYZm.jpg
That I got that last digit is ideal IMO' as I mostly use it for cell-balancing after charging. (sure it takes a long time, but wicked to see how it can get it down to 1mv and completely align all cells.
I also often use it to check different chargers and to see how good a given charger is to balance cells. (it varies a lot how good charger is to balance cells) and here the last digit is vital and be able to see 1mv resolution.
the originally ISDT goes down to 1mv and 3 decimals
The Spektrum version that obviously is based on the BG 8S variant or from the same chinese manufacterer, sadly only have a resolution of 10mv.

I got the BC 8S and the BG8S numerous years back. the ISDT BC8S a tad under 20 bucks delivered and the ISDT BG 8S around 25USD delivered.. (been very happy with the BG 8S and particularly the cell balancing feature down to around 1mv is solid, though it takes a long time, as it is all semi-passive as there are no fan or heat like that)

Would be cool if the XBC100 could auto sense a connected surface end bind for max deflection without over throw damage. Eliminate needing to disconnect servo horn before testing the one button push to max jump end point, maybe even slow down the jump speed. I saw how you reacted when the control surface deflected so violently, and its an easy mistake to access that quick throw, could even send a "are you sure you want to continue" check box before you do the dirty deed...

Put it into balance mode and the timer has been running now for more then 40 minutes but i do not see the cells getting closer together. The green light is on in the middle touch button and the timer is running. Is this normal that it takes this long to balance and that i see no change ? @@Mikeylikesit1968 Is was in a que with a half a dozen other videos that were of equal decibels. When this one came up it wasn't much louder than a whisper. I turned it up and when it finished the next video (Linus Tech Tips) which I watch every day with zero audio problems was blaring because I had to crank the volume because of this video.

Way over priced! There are so many options out there for half the price

There are many options out there that are over this price as well. Consider having to buy multiple items to get this same amount of functionality. For having a Balancer, Battery checker, Smart battery connectivity and a Servo tester (with amperage load displayed) we think this is priced very well.

@@SpektrumRCvideos I was talking ALL spektrum items not just one are overpriced. Here is a perfect example the antennas for the spm4649t rx are 7.99 for 2 sets. When you look at frsky they are 8 for 10 sets. Same thing with the reciever 39.99 for that rx but frsky is 19.99 at the highest and 13.99 at the lowest. I'm switching to another transmitter just on cost alone.

@@skatj23 you’ll never beat German technology, as far as I’m concerned it’s well worth the extra few dollars for peace of mind and Spektrum stands by their products too. Great customer service.
