Both are fantastic fragrances. Expensive? For sure. And for the good reason. It’s exclusive. So the folks that swarm the cheap counter at Macys won’t be able to afford it. And that’s great.

I've smelled Aventus a handful of times. When I first got into frags I was really impressed by it. My plan was to buy a clone and a decant. I never got around to getting the decant and I'm happy enough with my clone. My money has been and will be directed toward less copied, but still hyped, niche frags...and also some cheap thrills: right now I'm looking at a $14 time machine called Quorum :)

I have Aventus for her and it’s amazing! I use it for work out and confidence sweat level is 💯. The only one smell great inside 😀.
I know the cologne gets hate but I really like it. I've already received a compliment wearing it. I think it works very well in the office and during summer.
I got my hands on one of their samples they sent out in the beginning. It really is a great scent. I'd wear it quite a bit if I could but at that price point it's not worth it.
I have Aventus ⚜️ and decanter of New Creed Aventus ⚜️ the smokey birch is missing in the new but love it.
Love the House but to me this brand has in a way “jumped the shark”. Price point is bananas and fragrance not consistent. I’m sure I’ll grab a sample before I decide to pull the trigger, if at all. Great video Sebastian.

In choosing my first Creed I was torn between Aventus and Aventus for Her. I chose AfH because it smelled better on me.
Smelled it over the weekend, I like it better than the original. Can’t go wrong with either in my opinion. The cologne seems a bit fresher, perfect for summer.

I'm one of those few people that don't like Aventus (and haven't tried the cologne). To me it's to aggressive almost and conservative. I actually prefer Aventus for Her (which I got for my wife) a lot more. However my real favorite in this type scent genre is Marly's Layton which I feel is much more creative, interesting, and original. Aventus seems more for a "stuffed shirt" and Layton seems more for those that like art house movies, that read a lot about a lot of different subjects, and that is always looking to improve themselves. Should also mention that with Green Irish I like but the fact that it reminds me of my Dad and a fragrance he always wore (a long time ago) but I love (what could be flankers of it) Himalaya and Silver Mountain. Great video.

Aventus has a more musky smell to it (because of the musk inside of course :)
Aventus Cologne is young, super cool, fresh take with musk out of the way.
I have Aventus Cologne on my left arm and the Aventus on the right arm, I close my eyes and I am in heaven.

Thanks Sebastian another great review. I'm actually bored of the Aventus DNA,. Coupled with the lack of longevity (batch code variance), inflated price, and especially with all the clones, it's become an easy pass.
I've heard so much about creed aventus, I was curious enough to bind buy a 100ml bottle discounted to $315. I love the smell. It's everything described in this video. I'm just disappointed in the longevity. It doesn't seem to last as long as some of my other fragrances that I've paid much less for. For a perfume it seems much less than a cologne. It starts off very strong and fruity, then seems to evaporate. I still got compliments an hour after hitting myself with four sprays. Either I'm coming down with covid-19 and loosing my sense of smell or this bottle is severely diluted.
+ 400 dollars and the notes look so basic, there is not even ambergris in the fragrance... this fragrance is over overpriced, big pass.
I haven't been thrilled about any Creed release since Royal Oud. Don't get me wrong...I like Aventus Cologne, Viking and others...but nothing that came to close to warranting such an expensive purchase. Cheers!

It's a complete different fragrance. Has the essence of aventus but different notes. I actually just bought AC as I prefer it for daily use. Fresh and inoffensive yet still smells class.
Even though aventus is far from my favourite, I like it but most just let my family use my bottles.
I tried the cologne version and really enjoyed the opening but after that it was forgettable to me but I'm glad if it works for others. Great when someone finds something they enjoy.

Creed Aventus to me is like one of those happy accidents that goes on in a lab,, it's like two forces colliding, also I personally believe that, better and superior batches are to be had in Europe, meaning that here in the United States, we get the not the best.

I get that there are importation taxes and fees but Creed charges waaaaay more in US than any other house.
Great Review as always! Overpriced will agree with that, ordered some samples for testing! Really curious about the scent but am not buying the entire bottle due to the price tag even if i end up liking it. I prefer to spend these kind of money on FM house which i will end up buying 3 perfume bottles of 50ML.

Erwin doesn't make the prices. The country youre in does. Here in Germany, 100ml costs €190,- which is around $210

@@Terry11111 no he doesn't. They offer a minimum selling price, which is 200$ for 100ml. If any other country asks 400$, that means they make 200$ profit of each aventus cologne they sell. I know this, because I work in a store that has and is a official creed selling point. I do the orders.

@@Terry11111 like I said, it's country based. In Europe, Aventus Cologne costs 210$ (€190,-) for 100ml. We buy 100ml Aventus Cologne for €150,- straight from Creed, and sell it for €190,- in our store and on our webshop. Everything outside the EU has higher Import duties. That also explains the higher prices. So blame your country for the higher import duties etc, not Erwin.
I have three of them: Aventus for Him, Aventus for Her and my recent purchase Aventus Cologne. I prefer Cologne among them. It's a beautiful smell, light, fresh, gentle, not as spicy as Aventus for Him and HER.
A good rendition of Aventus Cologne is Emperor Cologne by Parfums Vintage. $145 for 100ml.

Is lasted for me not even 45 minutes at the end I was left with a tonka bean drydown!! Not worth it!!! The original is the best still!! I haven't smelled for her! But its probably even better than the cologne!!
My wife liked the cologne better, I like the original better, but k my by a hair and that’s because I get much better projection from the original than the cologne. I find the cologne to be sweeter in the opening but muskier is the dry down

You're really naive if you don't think Creed doesn't have a say on how much the price is going to be in the US. Yes, there's import tax, the middleman fee, boutique fees etc, but they're nowhere near $200 per bottle. Creed knows exactly how much they can gouge their customers.

I had a chance trying Aventus Cologne from sample promo, I like it but not buying a bottle with that price tag, n I still have plenty of original Aventus. So I just bought Roja Elysium instead!
Filmon hawkee Elysium @ $240 and it works great with my skin chemistry, and still gets compliments hours later. Compare to Aventus Cologne @ $ 435 with tonka on the dry down instead of ambergris. I don’t think it’s a mistake at all...
When the grey bottle hits around $200, sure it can join my other 10 Creeds.

I’m so confused. Why give a non-identical fragrance the same name. It just add “cologne” to the name when it’s a EDP? If Creed is trying to recapture lost customers why price it the same? Makes zero sense to me

I was very disappointed in this one Sebastian... I actually loved the opening! If they could have made that smell last longer, it could have changed my mind! It didn't last very long at all on my skin at all!

Great Review.. AVENTUS COLOGNE SMELLS EXACTLY LIKE VERSACE POUR HOMME.. Not much of aventus.. Its like 90% Versace Pour Homme mixed with 10% Aventus.. Performance is not great on me just below average compared to Aventus. Okay for decant but not for a full bottle :)

I'm addicted to the mandarin notes in Aventus Cologne. I actually prefer it over pineapple. Also not the biggest fan of regular aventus. To me OG Aventus smells like pineapple & cigarettes.
Question. I'm new at fragrances but have been learning a lot from you and other reviewers on CZcams. However I feel you have a more developed nose and I was wondering if you can answer what it is that I don't like about certain fragrances. To me Sauvage edt, Acqua de Gio Purfumo etp, and Aventus all have a similar main note(s) that I don't like when they are too dominant. Not sure what the scent is yet on a fragrance like Layton (which I love) it doesn't seem as dominant and with other notes that take it in a altogether different direction. If you can help please let me know.

Great review. 99.9% subjective but that .1% that is not subjective is the price. I get the feeling that Creed wants to be a status symbol. Bet when you take an elevator inside a financial institution it smells of Aventus.
You can NOT replicate either. You can get close but not exact.
Creeds reasoning for releasing Aventus Cologne makes about as much sense as Rolls Royce releasing a lesser, stripped down Rolls Royce model with a 6 cylinder engine, and charging $200k for it, in order to "recapture" some of the consumers they "lost" to the Chrysler 300.
It actually was the opposite for me, All these copycat colognes made me buy the real Creed, to try out.

You know what creed needs to do to stop losing business.
1. Go back to their old bottle designs and 120ml size.
2. Reduce the price, make it like 200-225 USD Max for 120ml for their most expensive releases and much less for others world-wide. Under 200 ideally.
3.Take advantage of the batch inconsistency and label each batch as pineapple heavy or more smoky etc.
4. Stick to what they're good at. Make some more great fresh fragrances.
5. Announce all this as a big sale.
6. Profit.
Let's see what happens now that they have sold the company! :)

I thought it was a classless move to step away from their traditional and signature 120ml bottles for DECADES only to stick it to loyal customers like myself with 100ml bottles just out-of-the-blue, very UNFAIR, very GREEDY, very MANIPULATIVE, very CORPORATE RAIDER-LIKE🙄🙄🙄…. Wow where do we start..Creed Cologne was made because they were losing business to clone houses..So they decided to bring this fragrance out to combat or recoup some investment..Then it hits open market at 435 dollars, why come back with a new fragrance and charge that kind of money. If you wanted your share then price accordingly and watch profits roll in..I disagree with you in that there’s is no originality anymore..Your looking for something unique which unfortunately doesn’t exist..Why because that means only a select audience would be able to purchase due to price..So whether we like it or not clones, inspirations, copies whatever you want to call them are here to stay..It’s the only way the masses can sample unique blends..I don’t hate clone house because if you like the original , buy the original..Now when Adventus Cologne dropped 2 days later Dua’s already had an Inspiration of it out..Again if priced right not 435 we wouldn’t be having this conversation...So I will say Clone houses
