Most of the beatboxers are friendly over competitive, not as in they won't try to get in each others faces, but more so when they realise that they're likely to win/lose they will not be afraid to cheer for their opponent.
Also mb14 has always seemed a more "old-school" type of loop artist, as in he'd let his beat boxing do most of the work and use the station to stitch it together, while artists like Saro, NME, Brez, well most of the loopers nowadays try to use the equipment over their beatboxing.

What I can recommend is mb14´s loopstation performance at LA-Cup. This dude is actually build different :D
Yes please Joey! This is a very good showcase of what a great vocal looper is about (minimum effects, the machine is just for the looping and mixing). Some people like DJ looping more, with more machine interference (transposing, slicing etc), and it is totally respectable. I like melodic routines more.

MB14 is awesome! He uses minimal loop effects, mostly using reverb. Saro is just godly on the loop. They also do tag team looping and beatboxing (undefeated in tag beatbox). Definitely check out more from them.

That out of the way, here's some explanations to some of the questions that came up during the video:
In Saro's 1st round, he got the metronome kind of sound by recording the sound of his first button press.
As for improvising: both in normal beatboxing and in Loopstation, their pieces are for the most part pre-rehearsed hundreds of times to be able to do them to perfection, Saro's pieces even have titles, just like normal songs. Obviously rebuttals and counters are made up on the spot, but these don't tend to happen much in Loopstation, as they fill out the entirety of the available time with their songs, with little to no time to spare, they happen more so in regular beatboxing. MB14 improvised because he apparently fucked up something of his piece in the second round, which, aside from afroman, the first track was Toxicity by System Of A Down, a rock classic.
To add to your already great explanation I just wanna clarify that yeah improvised stuff is way more usual on regular beatboxing and afaik basically non-existent in loopstation, because it's just too complex to make something on the spot and you can't afford to mess it up

It’s crazy to me how many people haven’t heard System of a Down - Toxicity and how mb14 almost perfectly remade it.
12:27 It’s in 6/8. Which is basically 3/4 but the feel of this song counts “1 2 3 4 5 6” and the pulse is on 1 and 4. And yes it’s a cover of System of a Down. Awesome band.

these two are literally top 3 with inkie in loopstation in the current era of loop station for me. i think one that you need to react to is Grand Beatbox LOOPSTATION Battle '15 | 1/4 Final. Penkyx is probably the best out of the early 2010 era of beatboxing. Probably one of the craziest and best drops of all of loopstation
It really is a preference thing I guess, I appreciate that Inkie is talented at music production but I don’t care for loopers that manipulate the sounds beyond recognition. I just think it kinda goes against the heart and soul of beatbox. But it’s also really hard to draw the line.
I don't understand the love for Inkie - what should I watch beyond his battle vs NME? I think it's a musical taste thing and I haven't dug his style in the songs I've heard

Saros bubble noise is just a sped up phaser you mentioned the same track had a phaser earlier, also the length you leave the track recording is how long it will play for, for mb14s cut off effect he sings as he cuts his recording. In saying that, if you push the button twice within a second you can make 64th notes, however saro did his 64th notes by rolling his tongue
