Through the last few years I've been getting quite a lot of messages from people who wanted to start their own asmr channel but were not completely sure what equipement they should choose to make a video in which the sound would be noticeably good.
So I decided to create a list of the most important devices you need in order to start making good sounding asmr videos:

I feel like these 10+ years old ASMR videos are much better than todays ASMR.
sound quality? yeah. nowadays the usual approach is blue yeti pop filter cover scratching and every possible variation of it. i have grown extremely bored of mic cover scratching and blue yeti's audio quality leaves a lot to be desired. it is not a terrible microphone but people usually do not set it up so it sounds good and has clear, definite left and right, front and back. it is great for beginners i think but if you are someone who uploads weekly and gets tons of views then yeah you are doings something right but you could just be using a better microphone or an overall better microphone set up. i believe most popular asmrtists do have 3dios or comparable mics but they still resort to blue yeti mic cover sounds, the laziest form of asmr on the market. i hate the current asmr meta and i wish we still had creativeness or at least people who want to create crisp sounds and not this current slop.
@@pieru I did found few channels with a really good sound, but thats only like 3 out of full YT. Still these are my fav. ones. Unique village ASMR, dude has only few scissor/barber videos but they are quite good. And Made in France ASMR, this dude's sound quality and production is on another level.

This is still one the best channels I have ever encountered. ASMRtists these days no longer do the real binaural, they just keep on repeating the ear to ear or directly through the mic technique. Although some of those works for me but they should also make different types of variety.
I come to this channel all the time even though there are no recent uploads. It is the BEST!

This video combines two of my favourite 'asmr' sounds; the sound of water being sprayed and the sound of hairdressers' scissors. I don't get 'tingles' myself but I still look this kind of video and find it incredibly relaxing. I fall asleep each night to my little asmr playlist, hehe. By the way I have a few videos after this in my playlist and I swear if one of them contains an advert that comes on really loud I'm going to have a heart attack!

Some will like all the sounds in the video other than the spraying. Others will like all the sounds other than the rinsing. Still others will like all the sounds other than the cutting. And other, like myself, like ALL the sounds.

Branden Slayton most people i know that cut wash their wound afterwards. it wouldn't make sense to wash your arm beforehand if its just gonna get bloody.
Some people prefer cutting first because you'll know the real length of your hair because if you cut wait while wet, it'll dry shorter. You wash your hair after the cut because it gets rid of all of the hair that the hairstylist may have missed/forgotten to brush off of you 😊

This is my favorite. I love the idea of ASMR with sounds only. It's a great idea!
Binaural is actually a special form of stereo (2 discrete channels) sound recording in which 2 (no more no less) microphones are placed in a way that closely approximates the spacing, directionality and isolation of our ears. This captures the loudness and arrival time differences between ears that the brain needs to interpret a 3d spatial sound field. Only headphones (in-ear are best) accurately complete the sound path to create a close-to-live spatiality from a binaural recording.
Total tingles everywhere. I love going to get my hair cut for this reason.

Binaural is a way in which you record sound from multiple locations as a posed to unidirectional recording in which case you would only be using one microphone. Basically they mean the same thing.
I love your videos! Out of curiosity, are you planning on doing one with cleaning sounds? Dry dust cloths running over metal/wooden shelves and those cheap plastic trash bags that they use in the office waste bin being delicately crinkled... I could listen to that for hours. Thank you for making these videos!

3d is simply the sound from all directions. Binaural is the science of acoustic for example the mixing or manipulation of sounds for a film or in this case for a video, so you can hear the sounds so clearly and realistic.

It’s in the description. Deep Ocean uses the same mic/s as the others, it is just that he/she really knows how to do the techniques compared to some.
