Nice review. I appreciate the fact that you took into account aspects that other "unboxing" uploaders wouldn't.
I read the description that it doesn't support microphone transmission, but it also made me wonder if there are other similar devices out there which can transmit the microphone signal of wired earphones / headsets? I'm talking about the "expensive wired audio device + newer iPhone" phenomena.

Similar bluetooth audio devices were known for a transmit-receive delay. I wonder how this one would be.

Assuming the YMOO side slider is set to RX so it can receive Bluetooth audio and for example output it to some speakers via the 3.5 AUX output:
    1. Does it function when plugged into charge via the USB C socket and does this create any interference or reduce the sound quality in the audio output at all?
    2. Does the YMOO remember previously paired devices and if so how many?
    3. Does the YMOO automatically power down when plugged into charge via the USB C socket after a certain time period if no Bluetooth transmitter has been connected to it?
    4. If the USB power source is turned off and then turned back on will the YMOO power on automatically and be ready to function as a receiver without pressing the MFB button so that a previously paired Bluetooth transmitter can reconnect to it automatically?

I was watching on another device and had to get my phone with because I need to know is that an accent or a quirk of your speech it's fascinating. I always loved accents and dialects of English language but never studied them, with gambit meme I came to realisation that in USA there's most likely hundreds of accents we've never heared on big screen so now every time I hear something I like I must ask. Please don't take it as an insult on the contrary it's extremely uplifting to listen to new accents for me I can't explain why but it's the surprise factor that gets me be it how words are pronounced or the flow of the language.
So if you don't mind which is it ? :D

How about connecting simultaneously on TWO bluetooth speakers? Is there an audio delay from bluetooth speaker A and bluetooth speaker B? (ECHO effect)

    • @ThriftyAV
      @ThriftyAV  Před 2 lety +2

Unfortunately I was not listening for this during the test. I would need two identical bluetooth reciever units to see if this unit introduces delay from speaker A to B or vice versa. This is because bluetooth receivers introduce their own latency, with some worse than others depending on the circuitry used version of bluetooth is being used. Sorry I was not more help with your question.

Here is the scenario, I have a Bluetooth headset with a mic and need to connect to my analog audio mixer wirelessly. I want to hear (monitor) the audio and at the same time I want to connect the mic to one of the channels. TIA

This was well done, and encouraging. I may buy this to try it for my purpose. But I noticed you didn't test for transmission latency. The application I will use it for is to send my guitar amp audio to bluetooth headphones. My concern is the delay between plucking a string and hearing the note in the headphones.
Also, would you plug this transceiver into a guitar amp through the line out or the headphone (1/4") jack?

Since my last reply, I have been digging a little deeper into BT latency. For the lowest latency, look for Bluetooth items that have Qualcomm aptX LL. However, this codec is not widely supported (yet). There is also a competing codec called LLAC that is also not widely supported. If the YMOO supports either of these codecs, it is not mentioned in the literature.

@@Jackshv the box has a little paper, and it's also stated in the amazon page when i bought it, that it shouldn't be used as a guitar transceiver because of latency. Apparently some cheap dudes thought bluetooth would make a good wireless for guitar :P
But regarding latency, it's pretty bad. It is fine for audio playback only. For movies the sound is late by a good 200+ms from the feel of it.
If you want to do earphone monitoring like for tracking instruments and recording while listening to a click or a track, you'll have to time align everything because the DAW will always be ahead of you.
