It actually makes sense that dead coral could be found in caves, since a lot of aquatic life was fossilized and buried underground.

Without the special blocks caves look even more bland than they do now. He wanted to make caves interesting but started off by removing the one thing that has made caves more than just bland stone.
But seriously, Dirt, Granite and Diorite look downright ugly mixed into stone the way it is in vanilla.
If we had seperate layers with granite having dirt/coarse dirt mixed into it, regular stone/andesite/gravel and diorite... well no idea what to mix in there.

Personally I'll add some rivers, lakes and waterfalls instead of the little bits of water that gets in your way
Groundwater reservoirs with parasite-inspired mobs and a prize in the middle would be cool
They are planning on three dimensional biome generation. Maybe that could be a thing! Imagine boating down a subterranean river.
I’d love if in some caves a certain level would just be water, but maybe diamonds and other rare ores would be more common below the water.

@@bryan.w.t No, it isn't. It's a cave update, not a 'burried structure update'. In a cave update you'd expect things like stalactites and -mites, more logical ore distributions, better shapes of caves, with maybe underwater rivers. Biome-dependent caves etc.

I have something to say. Even though there has already been a cave update, if you were to do this and Mojang put it in, what about us in the bedrock version of Minecraft? We can't crawl unless we use water.

Honestly I was thinking most of these could just be avoided by just going from above. Most players, even some of the most hardcore youtubers, will cheat around all the various traps and mobs in the various dungeons already. Mojang would have to cover the entire cave system in bedrock to keep people from cheating and even then there are people like Impluse and DocM who make it their job to figure out ways to destroy bedrock! ;)

To be honest about the bat thing, you could/should have made two sets of pressure plates. One is a little bit up front to where the jumpscare is supposed to happen. You step on those and they spawn in the bats that will be just hanging from the ceiling. After you progress further into the cave, you activate a second set of pressure plates, that push out the sitting bats and release the Ghast noise

i think i have a nice solution for Pick axe problems... add a Block that goes ontop of the block that Feels like u can't break though that (like a Sleave on a Weapon to protect Certain blocks from breaking and be able to hear a Sound that confirms that u can't break that Block.

Thinking of the dead coral, a dried-out ocean cave would be a cool new type of biome. Think lots of gravel, dead coral, sand, and things like husks lurking around in it.

I have made myself a personal exploration-type modpack, and the caves just straight up look cool. Plus, with some dynamic lighting and the sound filters, it's really making the caves feel like caves.
I don't really think normal vanilla things have that much redstone involved. But you really added a nice feel to what caves could be like!

@Jupiter Foxx but do you realize how horrible it would be to program that, it took Mojang one year and six months just to go from update aquatic to 1.15.adding complicated Redstone contraptions, figuring out where to put them so they don't interfere with other things such as (mineshafts, strongholds, and ravines), figuring out how to program that into minecraft along with the cosmetics would take so long.AND ON TOP OF THAT there would be people complaining that the new update didn't release enough.

It is incredible how fast time raises! 1 and a half year ago there was dreams about the cave Update and now we got it! The 1.17 Cave and Cliffs uptdate was released yesterday. I can't belive that!

Minecraft have created a feature that allows biomes to be based on the y axis. So like you could be in a swamp biome and dig down into a different biome
Edit: for all wondering, it hasn’t been implemented into the game yet and I don’t see how it would even change extreme hills as they could add like extreme hills caves and so on

It could be that they added this because of the mountains biome that has a chance of being updated if it wins the vote on minecon... But I'm hopeful

BlackNinja745 Studios it’s for later 1.15 1.16 updates, so you could be in a plains biome and dig 50 blocks down and fall into a cave that has a different biome and fly 100 blocks and would be a different biome (sky biomes) right now in 1.14.4 if you are at bedrock you open F3 screen and still be planes of mountains or swamp

The only thing I worry about is the feel of Minecraft. Minecraft isn't supposed to be a scary or terrifying game. I am just worried that this will ruin the normal, fun minecraft touch
The creeper temple reminds me of uncharted (the first one) where when Nate and sully get to the treasure room of the el dorado temple and the treasure is gone (it would be looted by another player on a server)

So i made a new smp world after i died a rough death (so i nuked the world) and when i went in to find IRON i came out with diamonds, it was sitting behind the waterfall i used to get down the ravine

The issue with any kind of update like this would be the freedom of Minecraft. You could literally mine into the skeleton dungeon, dismantle the redstone, and get your diamonds

You should've kept the andesite cuz it'll add a bit of texture to the cave but the granite and diorite should be biome specific
same. But i wouldn't mind them on the walls of the mountains and entrances but the deeper you get the less of diorite and granite you see. But make them a bit less common because they're not really good blocks. Because the ratio is 70% stone 30%Granite, Diorite, Andesite. I feel like it should be a 2% diorite 4% granite 11% andesite 83% stone. That should be the ratio of the stones. And I feel like cobble should be in there too, and WAYYYY less dirt in caves.

It would’ve been better if upon opening the creeper temple chest, a bunch of creepers spawn in and the gravel traps you in, forcing you to either fight the creepers or dig your way out.
