I’ll never define an artists worth with how many Grammys they have. Nas barely won his first Grammy with the first Kings Disease album. But I’ve been listening to Nas since the 90’s. Long before I started listening to Jay Z. And we all know who won that glorious battle they had. Hov got ethered by Gods Son. If I let Grammy winners define my taste, I would have horrible taste in music. Nas over Jay always. He’s the more prolific artist.

Your Macklemore and Cardi Bs of the world have close to nothing grammys ( outliers ) that's why its called UPSETS when they win. Overall its complete garbage what u saying, google is your friend bro. I'll agree on that never defining an artist worth by grammys but clearly Nas & Drake, they're one in the same for me they let their work be judged by submitting their albums to them while others don't so lets stop the bitching when our fav dont win or have most grammys. For artist who submit they're relevant sadly I Nas will be performing too 🤦‍♂

I have always wished that Hip Hop could give a year and provide a platform and support for the 1980s generation of Rakim, KGR, LL and them. Just have each put an album out while collaborating with newer artists and producers and the whole Hip Hop support that. It will be interesting to see that. Growing up, I was more of a Jay-Z fan when comparing the two.. The whole Roc-a-fella lifestyle and anthems defined my 20s. However, Nas has aged better. I can find myself going back to his older albums and really feeling songs as they have more meaning to me since I'm older and have seen more of this world.
I appreciated Jay-Z's 4:44 album and cuts that are more introspective, but I just think Nas' King's Disease albums are stellar. This last one, KD3, is just a classic+ to me. I also think that the way Nas has moved throughout his career- his investments, his take on certain topics -gives him freedom to speak more freely and really write as if he's trying to uplift and educate -all while bringing his hip-hop style and substance.
Jay-Z sort of seems muzzled and only seems to move when major money or an investment is attached. I don't know -maybe Jay isn't motivated to make music as often as Nas is nowadays. I just like when artists like Nas and J. Cole, who has great net worths and could retire, yet still choose to give us real music with substance.
I hope Nas' continues this King's Disease set.....hell, I'm here for KD10 lol.
