if you think RCG2's load times are long, try Everreach Project Eden load times lol, and the load times are super long even reloading a checkpoint. the gauge can fill and it would still take like 10 minutes to load.
Haven't been hearing a whole lot of buzz about this game unfortunately. I preordered the physical version and will also buy it digitally day one to support the franchise and hope we continue to get more. 👍👍

As a person that always plays with myself, I wish I could get into beat'em ups but they're just not very fun on your own. I had the same problem with TMNT Shredder's revenge. I can see there's a fun game there but no friends turns it into a slog. I wish they would give me CPU buddies so I can at least pretend to have friends.
River city girls is good enough to play solo. Good beatem ups are totally fine solo but even crappy beatem ups are super fun with a buddy. It’s cool when you get good enough to dominate the board solo.
I played the first game with my sister and beat it a bunch of times by myself. Good thing the second game is gong to be online. Maybe you should tell people what console you have and give out your gamer tag.
the current version is lacking a lot more than just online features, it is running a old version that wasn't really supposed to be released to the public. this version has many bugs and missing mechanics that were showcased on the wayforward channel streams. the game is not supposed to run at 30fps, so for the best experience it might be best to wait for the western release this goes for all versions, even the ps5

I always wished the games had leaned into the rock intro of the first game. They move further and further away so I gotta make a Playlist for this now.

🍔 I picked up RCG1&2 + Samurai Maidens from Play Asia so hopefully I'll be playing by Christmas time. I'm not really a fan of Wayforward's combat system. The Kunio games have always been about brute force over strategy and the way the RCG games insert invincibility frames for bosses is off putting to me. Double Dragon Neon had the same problem. But this game has enough style to offset that.
Though I'm ok with playing with myself, group sessions are just more fun. At first my bros look at me funny, but if I keep them playing for half an hour, they start to love it. People just have to be open to new experiences. I wonder when this game will get the US version?
I don't know if you had this problem but there is a really annoying mechanic in this game. A bit later in the game there are a few normal enemies (for the most time in red and blue colors) that kill you with one or two hits. The longer you play the more these enemies spawned. I really don't know what this is all about. Later in almost every group of enemies on almost every screen at least one of them was one these guys. I think I first encounterd them one the sidemission where you have to defeat all enemies on the baskelball court. They deal an insane amount of damage and have an absurd anount of hp. I have no idea why something like this was necessary.
The game just hard for no reason at some points the 1st one had those off the wall ass differently spikes too. Why this one looking like a pass for me. The characters moves kinda stuffly and it’s just not as fighting game enough in the beat’m up as I’d like 🤷🏾♂️. It’s a Frustratingly Fun Time 😂 higher on the Frustratingly part 😂.
Red and dark blue enemies are elites(was in RCG), I assume playing on hard against them and (if it still works like RCG) without the extra stats from trying every food item in the game at least once, is definitely going to be a tough time. I hope so atleast.

My copy of the Japanese "two-pack" got delivered today. PlayAsia evrn included a mini Christmas card. So happy to hear you can choose Japanese or English voice acting. 🍔

This game has quite a few problems, the enemies are way more aggressive and do a ton a damage, the constant Meta and 4th wall breaks kills any chance of you trying to take story seriously, the side quests are tedious and always having you “go collect s certain amount of cats and tarot cards”), everything is ridiculously expensive which makes it so you have to grind for money. You can’t get out of enemy combo unless you have a side kick or a second player, Have I mentioned ENEMIES ARE SUPER AGGRESSIVE AND DO A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE?! I like the game but I feel like they did all this for artificial padding
Everything is great about the game...but the load times really ruined it for me. I really hope the PS4/5 version isn't like that. I'd consider buying on sale.
I played the game trails of river city girls 1. Some Questions Do I still lose lots money when I die,is there a dodge mechanic like in scot pilgrim vs the world because getting ganged up on by enemies sucks in rcg1,and is the back attack actually useful when someone's behind you. Even though river city girls 1&2 obviously takes inspiration from scott pilgrim vs the world:the game, river city feels like a choir to play for casuals who just wanted to have fun alone or with someone else. And one more thing Scott pilgrim vs the world the game has online multi-player story mode so you don't have to play solo.
I bought the first one physically for $30 at Best Buy, sold it after beating it for $80, and got it again digitally for $8 randomly through Amazon LOL. Time to us those FAT profits to buy the second!

I noticed that too. I think there was also some of the same issues in the first game, but I don't remember it being that bad. Here we go... yet another Switch game that needs a post release patch in order for it to run like a normal game should. If there are instances of pretty bad frame rate dips, I'm really questioning why that is? This is a 2D sidescroller beatemup for F@$&'s sake! The Switch should be able to handle this game no problem. Shredders Revenge runs buttery smooth the entire game and there's a lot more going on in that game far more often compared to this game. This situation with the Switch and what seems like over 75% of its new games having really poor frame rate problems is getting ridiculous! I really am considering ditching my Switch for Indie games to move to the Steamdeck, which really is a sad state for the Switch to be in.

(for example botw has like 6 different card revissions with 1 of them having the most recent patch on the gamecard
Maybe it gargled in the video editing, but when playing it was fine for me. Also slowdown I noticed was in 2 player. Where one player was in the extreme bottom left point of the screen and the other the extreme top right of the screen.
I was so hyped for this. I'm all for exeggerated female empowerment and liked the inclusion of characters like provie. But they had to change the colors of classic characters like yokō and kuniko to black. I was understanding of the former in the first game but I can't now. If my curiosity gets the better of me, I 'll pirate this game
🍔I'll be picking this one up soon enough. The first game was a top 10 material for me in 2019, so this looks to be a fantastic time as well. I'll opt for the Hong Kong single physical version because I own a physical version of the first game.

Have you tried buying items to increase your max hp?
