  • Here's a video of my dad digging up the front lawn to lay it with pavers. This is to increase the parking spaces in front of the house.
    Music From:

Love the music! Those appear to be patio stones, thay will brake up with cars driving on them as they are not made for that weight.

One year from now it will look like crap. No foundation will cause blocks to heave and grass will cover the cracks.

    Well made video.
Good idea with the tent for sun protection.
But the actual paving, anyone watching this should be cautious as others have commented. Better execution is possible. That said thanks for sharing the video.

How is a parking with a mail in the middle ?

That looks like pretty hard packed ground. Provided the patio stones were laid flat, it should be fine for occasional parking or a trailer.

That's what I was wondering! Are they going to run over the mailbox, move it or what?

I assume by the way it’s set up, they’ll pull into the original driveway and then turn onto that newly made area so the mailbox isn’t an issue.

Everyone’s hating on it it’s a good temporary idea it works even if they do crack it’s a temporary idea until you concrete driveway so much hate definitely need to move the mailbox though lol

WOW...as a Contractor who builds driveways and extensions all i can say is WOW....what a waste of time and money. Those patio pavers will last 12-18 months at most. no foundation for support. two weeks to do a two day job. THe materials used and the amount of time shows he googled how to do it.

Truly. The weight of the car is going to crack and break them. Bad idea.

these pavers are too big for driveway. It can easily break.

This, along with parking on the lawn, destroys the landscape of the home, and helps with bringing down the property value of the neighborhood. Stop buying small homes if you plan to have many cars on the property. Owning the house doesn’t make it ok to ruin the neighborhood other residents worked to uphold. The more homes that are done this way in a single neighborhood, the more the property value of that neighborhood tanks and become a slum like area.

To those being critical... Maybe he HAD to make it temporary, due to subdivision codes or local municipal codes.
