VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 1. 06. 2024
- Join me for a day in the life of a doctor as I work side by side with my husband in the hospital. We're both doctors with slightly different interests. I work internal medicine and rheumatology. My husband Mark does emergency medicine and hospitalist. Today we're both caring for patients admitted to the hospital.
Thank you to the Sault Area Hospital and all the staff for their support on this video!

I honestly believe this woman was born to be a MD. Such positive energy and spirit. God bless her. Love from Maine.
I agree! I would jump to Canada just to be her patient!
I agree with you, from Maine as well!!
Agreed! She is awesome!
I so agree
@@lovedfriend2020 same here
As a fellow Canadian our shortage of doctors and nurses is so concerning, thank you both for traveling to these communities where the shortages are even more apparent and helping out!
I agree. Vancouver Island has the worst shortage in Canada
Come to the UK, it is far worse and we get paid 1/4 of what other nurses get paid around the world...
@@GothikQueen Hey that free healthcare though right...
The healthcare system in Nova Scotia has collapsed. We really are no longer getting healthcare here. There is just an illusion of it to keep people calm.
@@Whattsgoingon I also live in Nova Scotia. Itâs awful here I 100% agree. Doctors and nurses and everyone are doing what they can but the system itself has failed and there are no resources. Itâs awful and frankly quite scary.
Who else has been here since the beginning?! It has been so awesome to see how far you have come. Thank you for inspiring me to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse and getting into this field! And congratulations!
*Thank you all for the likes!
Aww thank you so much Britney! This is wonderful to hear!
@@ViolinMD You are welcome!!
Hi, yes, I've been watching her / their videos, truly inspiring to watch people who are so pleasant, so full of that good energy!
We need more nurses in this world....all the best
Me me me. Watching all the videos made me feel like I also graduated internal medicine residency. Hahahahaha
i cant think of anyone who deserves to be a doctor more then her, we need more doctors just as kind, caring, and positive!

Both of my parents were doctors and my father played the violin quite well!
Have you watched the video of both Siobhan and Mark playing?
How uncanny haha.
@@MsStina84 Where do I find that?
@@britneynicole8903 She has one piece of violin playing labelled CAROL OF THE BELLS. The one with Mark is not och her channel. It's "Bach double violin concerto - a tribute to healthcare workers"
@@MsStina84 Oh neat!
Not me tearing up hearing specialist on the intro đđ I've been watching and have been praying for years about this. It's been an absolute blessing watching you grow into the amazing doctor you've become and am so excited to see you continue on your journey!
I have been watching since she posted her First Day as a Doctor video!
I'm so happy to see a fellow Canadian do so well! Congratulations and love from Nova Scotia!

Great to see Mark working with you! Stay safe to both of you!
Thanks Sofia!! Weâre definitely hoping to schedule more work together - we had such a good time!
As a resident of Sault Ste. Marie (and the husband of a local health care professional), I would like to to thank you and your husband for coming north to provide some much needed coverage. I hope you enjoyed your time in the Sault.
So cool to see you visiting the Soo! I have lots of family there so I have extra appreciation for doctors like you who make it possible for people there to receive great healthcare. Thanks so much for all you do!
prayers for the patient with brain bleed...Hope he got there in time and surgery successful đđđđ
Mad respect to you and all health care workers.
Yessss
I just love that you guys actually love what you do and it shows! And what a even better way to work together!! Thank you both for doing what you do!! The REAL heroâs!!

I work at this hospital as a housekeeper! Thank you so much for coming! I seen you both but I was too nervous to come and say hi. I didnât want to interrupt your charting/dictating đ
I was just diagnosed with PTSD from a bad birth experience and I watch your videos to try and get over my fear of medical stuff â€ïž
I'm so sorry to hear about your bad experience... wishing you all the best, hope everything is going well with you and the baby â€â€
@@laviedevia1306 thank you đ we are doing ok. Im dealing with some mental health stuff but pushing through and so is my daughter đâșïž
My aunt had PTSD for long time after giving birth, now those times are long passed and she laughs like a maniac every time I remember to her that even though in those times she said âno more kidsâ she had two more. Hopefully your situation will also pass and going to be just a memory to share with others
Honestly, watching this makes me feel worse knowing how understaffed hospitals can be. It's horrifying to learn that in an emergency, my life and death can depend on ONE person who might be swamped already with similarly urgent emergencies.
She is so amazing, honestly. Like, I work with Doctors every day, and if she ever does On-Call or Attending at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, that would totally make my day.
Enjoyed seeing you and your husband working together!
These are wonderfully edited videos. Itâs like a blog style documentary. Very well done! Thank you for all that do you.
Hardworking with happiness is great skill in itself
I tremendously enjoyed seeing both you and hubby work together. Keep up making a difference đđ
As an RN aiming to get into med school, I love how you and Mark both discuss symptoms and your impressions, followed by path/rads results that confirm your diagnoses. Super informative and interesting.

Love when we get to see both Mr. and Mrs. on shift together. Having the generosity to take us viewers on the journey with you all. Phew .. hope the neuro patient recovered! đđ»
We need more doctors like you (in USA)! You are extremely knowledgeable plus have great compassion for your patients. Thank you and your husband for what you do!
I love that your husband was included in this video as well. Great job guys!đ
Wow!! Seeing the hubs in action too is a special treat!! Your patients are lucky to have you both!! đđđđ
Oh gosh. I didn't know that hospitals could be so understaffed :( especially since the med school process is so competitive. Thank you for sharing. I want to become a doctor in Ontario, I don't think I'll be accepted to a school. If I ever do, I would want to come help in northern Ontario because of this video
Great to see the both of you working together! Hope to see the both of you like this together again!
It is rare to meet a doctor that really enjoys their job and cares more about the patients than money. Prayers to a successful careers you twođ
Nice to see you again Mark!!
Iâm not in the medical field, but Iâve watched and enjoyed your videos the past few years. Love from the USA đ
It was so nice seeing the two of you have a shift in the same hospital and be able to keep in touch throughout what must have been a very stressful day! I know medicine can be incredibly hard but both of you bring such positive vibes that's incredibly amazing! Patients are very lucky to have you as their doctor!đ
P.S. Sault Ste. Marie is an amazing place for sure! Have you been on the agawa canyon train tour? If not, highly recommend!
What a fun vlog! Love seeing both of you working together. Can't wait for more
I love these videos. I wish we had doctors and nurses who are just as enthusiastic as you and Mark are.
Glad to see you guys working together. Such a nice vibe, professionalism and care with the patients. I'm here since you were PGY1.
Stay safe
I am a resident in Sault Ste Marie in family medicine! I hope our paths cross if you ever return to locum, I have watched your videos since the beginning of your channel and you are such a huge inspiration for me! Can't believe you were in my hospital!! The soo has such a nice working environment. I hope your week went well :)
Seeing the two of you working together is so nice. My prayers and best to both of you in your careers, Love from southern Ontario.
Great idea for a video would be a day with a respiratory therapist. Like most careers in healthcare, theyâre so under appreciated and not known well enough. Great video as always!
I work as a medical interpreter for spanish-speakers who are living in the US, I love to watch your content so that I can be more aware of what to expect during my calls. I've followed you for a long time but now I am learning more than ever because it actually helps me on y regular job! Keep up the great videos the quality and content is amazing!

You & Mark are inspiring. I've just taken my first big step to become a nurse/paramedic. I've become an event first aider for charity. Doing my 4 day initial training (half way done)
I wish all doctors were as caring as you
Yay! Another video I love watching and learning along the way and how nice that you got to work some of the day with your husband.

I sure wish I was as productive as them. Much respect to this amazing couple.
Jeff the RN is my future son in-law. Good to see him in action. Iâm also a RN in the SAH operating room. Welcome and we are glad to have you here.
You two r adorable! Keep up the streams. Love to hear more medical details on care to patients!
Congratulations. I've been here since your 2nd year. It thrills me to see you getting so far in life!
Hi Dr. Siobhan, are there usually more patients that suffered car/bike accidents in streets on specific days of the week? I live in Brazil and on Saturday nights sometimes people cause/suffer accidents with cars and motorcycles. When you mentioned the patient that fell off a ladder, if the image during the lumbar puncture procedure was the patient's back, the marks suggest he fell with the ladder and on it; hopefully the patient will recover soon! I have a cousin recovering from a terrible case of Fournier syndrome, he spent more than two months in a hospital and will have to improve enough for a skin graft surgery. It's so good to watch you people doing your job! Have a nice weekend!
Havenât seen you on my feed in so long. Iâve missed these blogs. Hopefully my algorithm kicks itself back into shape! Thanks for all you both do!!
Such a great show! Looking forward to the next one! đ
Love these vlogs. You guys are amazing.
Okay, so I just stumbled upon your channel.. within the last week. And I was just watching the video where you and mark worked together as residents. During that video, I was impressed on how you filled the shots where you were talking about patients with the b roll. Its got to be hard to convey a message without sacrificing patient privacy.
But this, this is way better. 3 years and you have definitely stepped up the editing game.
Great job, love the content. And both you and mark seem to have incredible personalities.
More videos with Mark please. He's great.
I didnât see your videos in about 2 and a half years so love â€ïž to see your videos again since I am a long term subscriber.
Always love your videos đ Good to see you again!
Your videos are so awesome! And im thrilled you came to the sault! My hometown! You inspire me to be a nurse, and im starting my consolidation soon! Anyways, thanks for the videos, and enjoy your time here!
Thatâs amazing!! Such a need for nursing grads - best of luck with your upcoming consolidation!
Whoâs their editor?
I LOVE this! I love how it is the two of you now! And it is super awesome as a fellow Ontario resident to see the hospitals and how the medical field runs where I am. Super cool!
I love the vids with your husband, awesome couple â€ïž
