A few years ago we had an opportunity to see Roxette on concert here in Norway where I live, unfortunately we didn't make it, it's now one of the biggest regrets of my life because Marie passed away soon after. I was in the 4th grade when this song came out, I was maybe 10. I loved this song. I had a tape of songs I recorded off the radio and this was one I sat all weekend waiting for it to come on so I could get it. This one and the song miracle by bon Jovi...this one held up but I laugh when I hear the bon Jovi song I liked. I miss childhood. Everything is at the touch of a screen now. I can hear this anytime I want to. No waiting for the d.j to play it.
this duo was just incredible, especially from an engineering / recording point of view, the guitar tones were priceless, the choices of vocal processing and orchestration were some of the best. everything was right. they knew how to serve the song. amazing...

Dying on the inside when half of this amazing dio lefy duo left to soon to hearing new music years later. The strength it took to record again and nail her legacy. We grew up with y'all. Happy 32nd anniversary to the Joyride album! I have such fond memories of that day, April 2, 1991 - my friend and I went to Camelot Music just to buy the Joyride cassette on the day it was released! Played it all day afterwards. I still play it every year on this date, except now I have the remastered CD from 2009. The title song was huge in the U.S. at the time, all over the radio. Sadly it seems to have been forgotten since, and Roxette seems to get relegated to "one hit wonder" status for "The Look" even though they had so many other hit songs. Fortunately, there is a local station around here that now occasionally plays "Joyride", so I'm glad to see it being rediscovered.

Am very saddened that Roxette can no longer tour. Marie's doctors urged her to retire. Even more tragic, she is blind in one eye and has fought off a tumor and cancer in the last few years. that makes me really happy, these guys remind me of so many good memories through my adolesence. I cried like a baby when i heard she died. One of those things that was so big in the late 80s but you dont really know about unless you were there. People dont believe me when i tell them they had so many top 10s. Never got the long lasting credit they deserved but i like it that way.
I remember my little 5 year old self dancing my heart out to this song in front of the tv whenever it played on MTV!! I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!! I would get sad when the car drove off at the end cus that meant it was over!

I was really thinking that they were sitting on the wing of a plane. Now I know what a bluescreen is, but this hasn't changed my love for this video. I follow Roxette my whole life and have bought all their albums. I will miss them. I will miss Marie.
This is my favourite song. Marie was such a badass. I really looked up to her as a kid. My all time favourite band. The epitome of my coming of age. I feel so fortunate that this is the music I grew up listening.

that makes me really happy, these guys remind me of so many good memories through my adolesence. I cried like a baby when i heard she died. One of those things that was so big in the late 80s but you dont really know about unless you were there. People dont believe me when i tell them they had so many top 10s. Never got the long lasting credit they deserved but i like it that way.
I remember my little 5 year old self dancing my heart out to this song in front of the tv whenever it played on MTV!! I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!! I would get sad when the car drove off at the end cus that meant it was over!
RIP, sweet Marie. This video made me a lifelong fan. When I saw this as a 13-year-old boy on a tv screen through a shop window, I was immediately hooked. At that age this was magic to me! I was really thinking that they were sitting on the wing of a plane. Now I know what a bluescreen is, but this hasn't changed my love for this video. I follow Roxette my whole life and have bought all their albums. I will miss them. I will miss Marie.
This is my favourite song. Marie was such a badass. I really looked up to her as a kid. My all time favourite band. The epitome of my coming of age. I feel so fortunate that this is the music I grew up listening.

1990년 초반에 나는 초등학생이었는데 당시 우리나라 티비에서는 프로그램이 끝날 때 가끔 해외 가수들 뮤직비디오를 엔딩으로 내 보내곤 했었다. 어렸던 나는 팝송을 별로 듣지도 않았고 그게 뭔지도 몰랐지만 이 뮤직비디오는 아직도 내 기억에 또렸하게 남아 있다. 놀이동산 자동차 위에서 기타.. 당시 나에겐 너무나 새로운 장면이었고 휘파람소리는 내가 이 노래 제목을 알기 전까지 무슨 노랜지도 모른채 흥얼거리기 충분할 정도로 중독적이었다.
