Me too. But I always loved to see souls/borne gameplay because of the dark environment of the games. I gave bloodborne a shot. And it became my favourite game of all time yet, surpassing red dead redemption 2 and breath of the wild for me. Tbh, the game isn't that difficult as people make it out to be. Its just that many players approach this game as being too difficult.

Man this comment couldn’t be more accurate. I tried bloodborne like a year or 2 after it came out and couldn’t get into it. I feared that it was way too difficult.. fast forward to a few months ago (2020). I decided to give it another go. Was still one of the hardest games I’ve played.
But that rush of adrenaline during a boss fight is just simply un-matched. It’s an extremely rewarding game to play.

Ah, yes, a whole five or six years, and it already needs a remaster. 😂 I remember when we used to actually require a few generations of gaming consoles (or PC hardware evolutions) to pass before it was expected or hoped for. To me, it seems like they could spend energy elsewhere, rather than remastering a relatively young game on a console most people actually own. But, yeah, I guess those scalpers really wanna play a slightly better PS5 version of the game, so we should totally help them out. 🙄

what a fantastic analysis! pitch perfect takes on so many of the elements I love.
I picked up a PS4 and Bloodborne after a really miserable 2018. My expectations were high given all the praise, but nothing could have prepared me for what became such a consuming sort of midnight ritual of exploring Yharnam after work and very slowly adapting to such satisfying, FAST gameplay.
Weirdly, very few experiences helped me out of depression more than fighting through Castle Cainhurst the umpteenth time to finally take down Martyr Logarius, or winning a very special sword from the shark giants in the Fishing Hamlet.
I’ve platinumed it, and I’m on my fifth run, and while the challenge feels impossible I know it’s not because I’ve already been through hell, I gotta keep going. This, the other Souls games, and the Berserk manga series have really hammered that message home for me in an important way.
