Love the build series. It is all very well thought out and executed. You are documenting 3 generations building this house and that is awesome. The little ones are adorable and learning so much without them even knowing it. I know you talked about the costs of the materials, but I am interested in the land. What did it cost, how large and where is it (very beautiful). Also, why aren't you using epoxy on your concrete rebar dowels? You are preventing shear movement but not lateral movement. Not necessary? Keep up the good work, I am very envious.
Thanks for the comments. I do not anticipate any lateral movement as our area doesn't experience any seismic events. The only real reason for dowels is to prevent shear as you stated.
