- Many know Rosa Parks for her iconic bus boycott in Montgomery, but few know the years of dedicated activism that led up to that moment. CUNY Brooklyn College professor and author of "The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks," Jeanne Theoharis, shines a light on Parks' lifelong dedication to civil rights. Theoharis spoke to CBS' Tanya Rivero about the importance of understanding her full story.

I learn about her in school if it wasn't for her black people would still be at the back of the bus in some parts of society we still are at the back of the bus still trying to get ahead thank God for her though🤔

Oh, I remember Rosa Parks suing Outkast over the use of her name. Seems Rosa lost the narrative in her later years...
We appreciate others knowing our culture but that's part of the problem. Why can't this station find a woman of color to tell people of color about Rosa. Our education about ourselves should be told by ourselves sometimes. We need to know our own history.
