A very interesting instrument indeed. Would be nice hanging around in my home studio. Good to see you again. Been a while.

Yes, it's a great instrument for guitarists with the string spacing, feel and of course, the tuning. This has been one of the longest breaks I've taken. The Holiday spilled over throughout most of January with family & friends but I'm slowly getting back to it now. Good to hear from you!

Ok, this definitely made me curious...I really want to try one of those out!

It's definitely a lot of fun to play! It's crazy because it feels so close to a guitar, but once you strike it and hear the lower tones, you can't stop smiling!

8:03 the “Grit” is more like “Dust”😝 Simon playing it in the “Fascination Street” video is awesome.
I plan on getting a Bass VI soon. I’ve always wanted one and am finally going to pull the trigger. As a near life-long fan of The Cure, I grew up with the sound of it. I don’t want a black one like, i don’t want to simply copy Robert Smith. I plan on getting the CME Lake Placid Blue Squier with matching headstock once it gets back in stock again.
About the modding, you said you’d be better off getting the Vintera II, I disagree. Upgrading the electronics, even the pickups, you still come out well under $1k.
I’ve gotten the electronics (minus pickups) already, and it’s under $100 total. I know I know, why buy the electronics before I get the instrument? I researched it for a long time and I would have done it either way. I love getting import guitars and hot rodding them to punch well above their weight.
    Great video, man!

Such a cool instrument. I would love one. I would go with the Squier because it looks better in my opinion and I don’t need anything too special.
Do any other brands make these kind of 6 string basses? They are very unique. I would love if Ibanez made one.

Actually, to my surprise, I recently found out that Ibanez makes one! And I agree with you about going with Squier. I'm actually planning to buy one (already made the case to my wife 😉) but I have to part with a couple of my instruments in order to make room.

@@progrockjock Oh wow that’s great Ibanez makes one. I am almost didn’t ask you but now I’m glad I did. Thanks for always answering my questions along with making the videos.
I think you will enjoy it! It looks like an instrument that would make a person create new and different music because it’s so different.

No, thank you for watching! It means a lot. Ibanez is all over the place with their baritone or Bass VI lines. The SRC6 was the first one I discovered. It's like my SR506e but with a narrower neck and 30" scale length. I should've added these details to this video but I guess I can make another one after I finally buy one 😅

Oh they have multiple models? That’s great!
Anyway I hope you enjoy your new bass but I hope I didn’t influence you too much. Use your own judgment lol

@@progrockjock Buy an SRC6, a much better Bass VI. But I'm biased as I own 2. Needs heavier strings as do any of the Fender or clone versions. The Fender .100 set is excellent as are Newtone (UK) and Kalium.
One of my SRC6s has EMG 35DCs in it too.
