thank you for this awesome content. Love it. Could You please tell me what are the best trend websites in your opinion?
Meetglimpse.com I go over it in my initial keyword research video!
Great content, thank you, is there a way to find proper keywords for books that are already published and not selling well?
When I talk about keywords it’s more for places to publish in and the topics themselves. Your book isn’t going to magically sell Just by showing it to new keywords. You’ve already created the angle of the book, and focused on a keyword with the title. (Which is where it will rank for). If it’s not selling in the topic it’s targeting you need to either improve it (reviews/cover/product page) or decide if you should move on to the next book. (Maybe the topic doesn’t have enough demand). “Keywords” are essentially just book topics, and we have to create high quality books targeting profitable ones. The keywords themselves arent what make your books sell, it’s finding a profitable keyword and creating a book that is targeting the specific keyword/search term effectively.
Great info! Do we use similar strategies for Children’s Books? What if we have already published. Can we somehow work backwards to find a winning keyword?
Technically yes, but it doesn't always work this way. I like to publish by finding a profitable search term, and creating a book for that specific person. If we simply just upload a book to amazon, nothing happens. People are searching things up to buy them. We have to target what people are already searching
What service do you recommend for ghostwriting books? Is it better to write with help of AI or hire a ghostwriter in present day?
I would use AI to help you write an outline, but I wouldn’t for a whole book. I would use a ghostwriter. If you want to put more work in you can use Upwork and find better/ cheaper ghostwriters. (Have them do a writing test and pick who you like the best). But if you want ease of process you can use the urban writers
This training was great thank you. Does this strategy only work for 'non low content books? What is your definition of High Content, normal books with lots of text like proper books on the Best Seller List - not low content books?
E.g. Authors not journal creators?
High content book is a 30k word book about something like vegetable gardening or yoga. This method still works for low content books. If it falls under the same metrics most likely it will be good!
Great thank you @@KenSelfPublishing
I have enjoyed watching your videos and have subscribed to your channel. Your videos are helpful. I am going to have to watch this video again, as I feel like I didn't fully digest all the information you provided. When you mentioned to search for books in incognito mode, how does that provide keywords? Also, why would I need to be in incognito mode to look for a book? The title of a book still appears on a regular browser and I can get a keyword idea from the book title.
I know I would have to be on an incognito page to get the BSR when using extensions that provide that kind of data.
I will check out your step by step keyword research video, to further help me out.
Thanks for making these videos.
Glad you’re enjoying the video! Yes it’s quite complex, might need a few watches. Incognito window just removes all search history, so Amazon does change your search results based on your own interests or what you click on. It’s just a blank slate, if that makes sense.
@@KenSelfPublishing Thanks. That clears things up.
Home run video! I've been hooked on your content after stumbling upon it last week... subbed. I do have a question and I hope it's not an annoying one. Does the content in your videos apply to non-fiction only or fiction as well? I feel like there's quite a bit of difference between the two. I have published 6 fiction books since 2018 all driven by hobby/passion with 0% business-minded. After seeing some of your videos I am ready to commit to flipping that pancake and focusing on 100% business! I want to do things intentionally and with purpose like how you teach but I first need to know if these strategies only apply to non-fiction. Thanks!
I appreciate the support! Lots more to come. Mainly non fiction. Fiction is completely different and very difficult. Non-fiction is a game of prediction. Proving people want it, proving you can sell it, and launching it properly. We don’t leave anything up to chance. You can technically use the same principles for fiction but it is just more difficult.
That's good to know. Thank you for the information! As I mentioned, I am committed to flipping that pancake and open to trying new things... like non-fiction. It should be fun. I'm just thankful to have found your channel and I like how you make everything "calculated"!
Great video/channel! Quick Q if my keyword has 1k results, it seems to tick the requirements but on page1 only maye 2 or 3 books match my search term. The rest on page 1 & 2 are similar but slightly different. For example “……. For kids 8-12” but the rest of the page has “……for adults” “……for teens” is this something to avoid? Does page1 have to be perfect matches for my search term/keyword?
Well it all depends. If there’s is a lot it might mean the keyword is unsaturated and can be a good thing. Just make sure your search term is something specific and you can clearly see there are books on that topic selling well.
Does this apply to Low-Content books as well and how?
I would watch my low content keyword research video. But technically yes. If you find low content topics with these parameters you have definitly found something good
Hello again.
I was wondering your approach about "top of search IS" when the percentage is over 25%, 50%, 75% and >95%. I am trying to catch or get near somewhere an optimized spot on targeting bids. Some search terms have no IS at all and some of them have remarkable percentage. So I thought I should bring focus on them more. But I do not know how to. I mean, my default bid is 0.09$. I set 0.75$ on all each terms which have over 10% which does not feel right.
Can you share your thoughts please?
This is kind of a tough one. I don’t really focus on this, what I focus on is optimizing my book (cover, reviews, etc) to ensure it’s the most desirable option to the customers. This is how you get the best placements. Even so, I have really optimized books that still aren’t perfect when it comes to top of search IS. it usually just shows yoir book where it is relevant and as long as your acos is profitable that’s what’s important.
@@KenSelfPublishing Thank you for your response first of all. By optimizing books, you mean that the keyword database you collect from another video you talked about? Starting 3 different campaigns and picking the most effective keywords and placements?
Hi Ken, with the search results do you search on Amazon in all departments or do you select books only. Cheers mate
Good question. Always books!
@@KenSelfPublishing awesome thanks for your great videos. 😊
How do you get your initial reviews?
Through your email list if you have one, or saving up Pubby snaps are the two main ways. I go over all the ways in my 2 videos talking about how to get reviews!
@@KenSelfPublishing Thanks!
Hi, you seem to be suggesting that writers ought to only write books on topics that are not well represented on Amazon.
Have you produced any videos on improving one's positioning on Amazon for those who write on the topics they're passionate about, or are you suggesting this approach is completely pointless?
I would follow this same keyword research method but just look for things similar to what you want to write about, and maybe tweak your book to fit. Amazon isn’t a free for all of people buying random books, if we can’t prove their is demand for a specific topic there’s almost a 100% our book won’t sell. Nothing wrong with writing about your passions but at least try to find a place where there are people buying similar books and maybe angle it that way!
Im new to KDP so correct me if im wrong. There are 7 lines or opportunities to add 7 keyword phrases, are you saying that you only fill in one of those lines with your "deep" keyword phrase and forget the other six lines?
This video is based on keyword research to find a book topic, the 7 backend keywords are just things related to the topic only after you’ve found it. The “deep sea” keyword is one singular keyword/book topic to publish in with a higher chance of our book ranking high and doing well. Keyword=book topic
Made notes, no need to watch again
