Nice video seems you advertise more in Canadian market. I think Canadian market is now getting strong.
I actually advertise the most in the US market, my royalties I just set in Canadian because that’s what is relevant to me. But yes! Not much as competition in Canada, a good place for high acos. Same with UK!

I published my first book on Amazon KDP in 2022. Now, I have entirely re-edited and updated that book. The problem is that in 2022, I didn't know that in the paper book version, it would no longer be possible to change the title, and therefore, I wrote "2022 Edition" in the title 🤦♂
My question is:
Is it possible to disconnect the paper book version from the ebook version, delete the paper version, and republish the new version as if it were a new book with a new ISBN code (keeping the original ebook version because I have 5-star reviews) ?
I don’t believe this is possible. I don’t know for sure, so you might have to do not research, but you might have to upload it as a new book. Like I said, I am not 100% sure as I have never done it.

Do you think well written 100k books will do better than 40k word books?
25-35k is the sweet spot. Any more than this is more effort/money for not any gain. People don’t want longer books they just want their problems solved as efficiently as possible.
@@KenSelfPublishing I’ll put out 100 100k word books with audiobooks and we’ll see if you’re right. I have a feeling it will appeal to a different niche of people.

Thanks! Mainly because if there is only one book on the topic, it’s usually an outlier. Lots of reviews, celebrity, etc. not enough data. 2 is a bit more validation to go off of! Hope that make sense.

for a launch do you have to leave the books at 99 cents and paperback at 9.99 for the whole 30 days or increase the price to normal price after seven days and you have a few reviews.
It’s up to you. I like the price drop cause it increases sales which help for the algorithm, I usually keep it for first 2 weeks. The first month I’m not trying to profit, I’m trying to sell as much books as I can.

I think this kdp teaching platform for high content is what I'm looking for. I'm searching for someone to teach me a to z without draining my bank account. I need an affordable step-by-step guide, (handholding so to speak) until I can figure this out for myself, write high content books on what I'm passionate about and eventually go from trading time for money and earn a passive income in the quickest, most affordable way possible. $29 per month membership sounds affordable. Yea of course you can! If anything it’s just bringing customers to Amazon, which is what Amazon wants. Sometime the Facebook groups don’t like it, but yes you can absolutely promote your book wherever you like.

Did you try a lot of different book types before you found a niche?
I started with high content and tried a few different topics and got better each time!
Interesting, tons of info, but I haven't yet found my particular situation. I'm an author of (so far!) two books of quirky, absurd, funny, laugh-out-loud, short stories. I write because I'm driven to create my own thing.. I don't mean to sound condescending or superior, but in the music world, an analogy would be: I write original songs, versus someone who plays cover songs. I ALWAYS write my books (Two, so far!) first. I would NEVER search for a popular topic and THEN write the book. (Or, heaven forbid, have a ghostwriter do it!!!) (Here's the song: Ghost writers in... the skyyyyyyyy!) Where are the tutorial videos for marketing original fiction?
Hey Doug, love this! Glad you found your lane and are enjoying it. The reason I don’t focus as much of fiction because it’s a whole different level of publishing. Very different from what we do here. It’s a lot more subjective, you aren’t selling to an audience that is already there and looking for your book. Youre having to give your book a lot of social proof through many many reviews, as well as ideally a push from an outside audience (off Amazon). It’s another beast and considering a majority of my audience is looking to make passive income online through Amazon KDP, non fiction and such is the way to do it. For your situation, Jusr keep making books, and try to build a bit of a social following off Amazon. This is best way.

Great video! But sorry dude, you are not a credible 'author' is someone else (or chat GPT) wrote it.
I disagree. First, I don’t tell anybody to use chat GPT to write a book. Second, you don’t see the ghostwriters name on the cover of your favourite celebrity memoir (yes, 90% of celebrities absolutely do not write their own books). It’s their story, in which they have someone help them bring it into words. We’re no different. Creating detailed outlines (5k+ words) that completely outline a book, which the help of a ghostwriter to fill in the gaps. In which we get back, rework even more and get edited. Without your research, outline, restructure, and edit there is no book. Also, these “credible “authors” Probably have 10 layers of editor’s going through their book. What they wrote and what goes to market are vastly different. You absolutely are a credible author if you are using ghostwriters and this is done not only with celebrities but with but some of the most famous authors such as James Patterson.
