So Asuka really was injured after the SD taping. If so, then the fact that she was able to wrestle decent matches while having a bad leg is honestly impressive and shows how dedicated she is for the business.
Tho it sucks that she actually is injured as Bayley herself stated in an interview that Asuka is currently having the most fun in his career (especially considering she’s pushing her 40s which is usually when a wrestler becomes more likely of injuries). Hopefully it isn’t too bad considering she was at least able to perform for a while.

If you caught some of her earlier career in Japan, she took an insane beating by Minoru Suzuki, by choice. Working a match with those two, even if Belair isn't the safest worker, is still probably a cake walk by comparison. Eben with a bad leg.
@@veissra4047 Yeah I’ve heard she straight up gets abused in some of her matches, especially against the males (iirc Japanese wrestling has tendencies to get a bit stiffy).
Even Nia Jax, despite being unsafe in the ring at times, recently made a tweet complimenting Asuka and mentions how even when she’s hurt, she still comes out smiling and manic. This just shows how respected she is by her fellow wrestling peers.
Lowkey feel bad for her as even tho she’s having the most fun she had in her wrestling career (even stating in a tweet that she received way more support than she had in Japan), fans believe WWE’s been burying her (especially last year as fans were kinda harassing her to go back to Japan after she lost to Bianca at WM39 and someone even tried to start a rumor that she requested her release, which kinda led to her having to make a non kayfabe post to explain how she’s been much happier in WWE than in Japan).
It was that Smackdown episode that Asuka got injured. She’s been sporting a brace on that leg ever since and now that they dropped the belts she can rest up and recuperate. Get well soon, Asuka.

Hopefully she just didnt want to job inn the tournament. They reenacted that super plex last night, maybe in nod to Charlotte Flair injury, but there was not the height disparity, and both women on top rope is just not how that move is typically done.

@@Amaterasu-zl5yhI see it more of a golden ticket situation. They probably postponed the plans to turn Belair heel, as she was looking prime for the turn for a hot minute now. Now all of a sudden she's back to her stale self. In light of Asuka's injury, they prolly saw a chance to milk some crowd reaction by giving Jade a title, which by all means.....hasn't meant anything for a while. No fault of anyone who has held them, its just how it's been presented. Still use them to build some credibility with the WWE, paired with someone casual fans love, so will get some of that just by extension.
This isn't meant to be negative, as I know that's how it probably sounds lol. It's a fairly smart tactic, honestly and gives them time to really get an angle going for the eventual pay off match. I personally am not interested in that, but for anyone who is, should be good.

Something I really miss about the old WWE that needs to happen today is building a feud, not always defending titles at a PLE, short title reigns, not a lot of multiple kick outs. There's no reason Jey USO should've faced Damian Priest for the title this soon, almost no one thought he would win. These matches where there's multiple kick outs make it almost to where every match has to have multiple kick outs. These long title reigns make other stars seem incompetent and it almost always guarantees the winner before the match even starts. One other thing that was great are the feuds and Vince McMahon.
Damien is a filler champion till Drew takes the belt off him after Punk and him have their feud.
I mostly agree with this, a feud should elevate both stars in the process. It feels like now we get cool matches that are really good but with no feud or build-up

At this point, Jey Uso is so over that a loss or two won't hurt him. AJ is also a main event player with his great in ring action but wwe won't give him any title run most prolly, just like Randy Orton. Nonetheless they can elevate any storyline.

I might be in the minority but I think it’s cool that two of the King/ Queen of the Ring qualifying matches are going to take place at live events aka House Shows.
It allows House Shows to feel important and help storylines move forward if they don’t have time on TV but still keep the intimate and unscripted moments that only happen at house shows.

The King/Queen of the Ring matches was predictable.The promos was long and boring.And the QR codes was a good concept.When Bray Wyatt was still around.But now,it has become a stale concept due to him not being there again.

I think the King of the Ring tournament should represent more than just getting a crown and wearing it, they should treat the King of the Ring as they would if they were to win the money in the Bank. They should be allowed a contract signing for a title of their choosing. This way if one of the younger breakout stars from NXT or mid card wrestlers that haven't yet won a major championship have the opportunity to do so, without having to push all the way up to the top... But still have that option, if they wanted to challenge for the world heavyweight title on the WWE title. It should also apply to participants that belong in action if they win the King of the Ring tournament then they should also be allowed to challenge for a tag title if they so choose.
Otherwise it just doesn't make sense to me that there's just going to walk around with a crown and a scepter and no belt. Besides my prediction for the King of the Ring is going to be of course the Ring General... He has had one of the longest intercontinental title reigns in WWE history.
I hope it comes down to Ilja Dragunov vs. Gunther

It seems odd... at first they were announcing all the top wrestlers looking to get in king/queen of the ring. Then we lose Bobby, Asuka and Drew. Replacements were all meh in comparison. There better be some big payoff for winning unlike most of the past years.

8 qualification matches in 3 hours show is a bad idea because you can't give enough time to each & every matches. And there are other titles and feuds which need storylines to progress, can't focus only on king/queen of the ring.

Auska not injured! She had to go through concussion protocol due to a bad Belair dive at Backlash. Auska has also been taking trips to Japan to micromanage her property construction. So she is very fatigued and jet-lagged. WWE is fine with that.. Since Valkyrie got a better start taking a win over Kai!
