I’ve been 16 for 4 months now. I don’t know what the big deal is. 🤷‍♀️

I’ve finally reached the age where they say life begins to start
And yet I’m not quite old enough to understand it all
The letters on the wall I hung myself
I’ve collected some plants to show that I could keep them alive
I bought myself a poster when I first got my liscense
6$ to prove that I have independence
I am too stubborn to admit that I write poetry
And I am too pretty to be humble
Do I have to wait around for something interesting to happen
Or can I just run around in circles till I’m 17
Some people say “i will never be 16 again”
But I just don’t understand what that means
Am I supposed to fall in love or get my heart broken?
Am I supposed to yell at my mom or be her best friend?
