    Love seeing this done individually and with potatoes and celery. Feels more authentic to how my mom made it.

    Great recipe ive been looking for a split pea recipe that i can put potatoes in. Now instead of me putting the vegeies in raw can i cook them with the peas first. Thanks for sharing.

    Question: could you not have added the bay to the broth that way you don’t risk eating the leaves when you open the jar?

    I live in the UK where canning isn't practiced anywhere near as much as it is in the US and other countries and I'm completely new to canning. I love pea and ham soup so this is something I will definitely be trying - I assume you can use yellow split peas in the same way as the green ones? Thank you.

      I’ve def used yellow split peas, just be sure to check with the National Center for Home Food Preservation for safety details (it’s US based). Happy canning!
