Hummingbird & Chicks

Recently I discovered that a hummingbird had built a nest in the Japanese Maple just outside my home office window. The nest was only about two and a half feet from the window so I set up my camera (Canon T2i/550D) to follow the birds from egg to hatched chicks.
After filming for the better part of a month I have distilled the many hours images down to this video. Some of the closeup stills and a little bit at the end are not the best of images, but I could not set up my full array of lights and equipment outside without interfering with and scaring away the mother hummingbird. However for those interested in these things I think you will find some neat stuff in the video...at least I hope so.
With so much video taken it was hard not to create something much larger. But if there is interest maybe I will make some smaller additional videos.

Just came in to look at your beautiful dollhouse yet again and I loved your filming of the hummingbirds. How lucky are you to have them pick such a close spot to nest! Bet they'll come back to nest again. I have them too (just south of Boston) but have never seen them nest. Thanks so much for sharing.

Just posted the extended hummingbird video to CZcams for those who are interested. And, yes, it is a bit of a long video at 24 min., but with days of video to choose from it was hard to distill it down as much as I did. Hope you enjoy. :-)
