This is my wife's, Kathleen Holmes, new dollhouse. I started building the shell for her in the garage three years ago. It is an original design and has many details, like heat registers, built-in cabinets and a screened-in back porch. She put individual shingles on the roof and made the chimney out of real little bricks. The floor is made from individual walnut boards. All the rooms have been wallpapered as well as wainscoting added in some of the rooms. She also landscaped around three sides of the dollhouse with trees that change with the seasons. The rooms have been furnished with miniatures that have been collected over 20 years. The house is also decorated with items that change with the seasons and holidays. Scale for this Dollhouse is 1 to 12, one inch equals 12 inches.

I've LOVED making doll houses since I was in 3rd grade and brought home big appliance boxes, putting them together, cutting out windows, adding curtains and making it look like was a real house...then got into smaller doll houses...so much fun!
What a wonderful comfortable house. I particularly loved the attic w/ newspaper on the ceiling. You put so much thought into your creation. I wish I lived next door to you and could come over and gaze at it in person. Thank you so much for sharing with the rest of us. An inspiration for me.

Wow this is beautiful work. Just beautiful and intricate. I loved the typical rooms but seeing extras like the garden, art studio, and sewing rooms just knocks my socks off.

Okay... This IS up in the top 3 (at least) of the most stunningly appointed, .. masterfully executed miniature houses I have EVER seen.. And.. I have seen A LOT !! I am counting museum pieces .. I am absolutely blown away by the attention to detail, the decorating sense.. the sheer volume of perfect little items that fill this wonderful little "home" .. So glad I got to see it today ! Thanks for posting this.. ( I know it was 4 years ago, but I am only just seeing it now for the first time .. )

What a wonderful labor of love for your wife. I wish I had the talent to do something like this as I have always wanted to have one for myself. This dollhouse is amazing it is beautiful the staircase the railing the bottom of the last stairs that is carved so beautiful I mean everything in this house is beautiful it looks like you're looking in a real adult house not a doll house but I know it's a doll house and it's beautiful everything is beautiful I probably have enough dollhouse furniture to fill a house like that one and then another one and then another one cuz I've collected so much over the years but that one is beautiful it's amazing house I love it even down to the screen door on the side that is beautiful I have a screen door like that but I still have to do my doll house to put it on there I remember that screen door cuz we had one like that in our house when I was growing up when I was a little girl thanks for sharing this with everyone

This is the cutest house I've ever seen, specially the in front, the public light post , the fire hydrant , bike, old new car, the maple tree or so , on the side the vases on the ground, the electricity meter is so muchreal.
