Amazing times indeed. I liked the Johnny 5 reference from short circuit. I remember when the robot flipped through a book and memorized it in the movie. These AI capablies are moving so quickly it hard to keep up
@@mattderron favorite line from the movie was “no disassemble, reassemble” under rated movie from the 80’s. Maybe AI will go sentient like Johnny 5 one day?
Did you get to watch the Google live? 😂 That DJ was grooving bruh 🕺🏿"too early" I'm long google now gonna aim for atleast 10 shares a month plus there chart looks geared 🚀
Using AI for tutoring would be a really bad idea. AI is so often wrong it's only useful for situations where accuracy either doesn't matter much or you already know the answer and can easily verify and correct it when needed.
I often hear this criticism, but what I don’t understand is that AI is learning and progressing rapidly getting better every day. Humans get things wrong too so assuming a human tutor is automatically more accurate I think is a stretch. As with all of these demos I think it’s more about what it can be at scale in the future not necessarily being 100% ready to do it today
Embrace change and progress. It happens all the time. Imagine saying air travel is bad because of air traffic accidents. Change is always progressive, nothing is static.
@@mattderron In the movie Her, all interactions with AI were consentual, but in the real world there is no such requirement. Do you know how many of your user comments are written by AI? What about your answers, are they written by AI as well? We may already be witnessing entire conversation threads that are AI vs AI. Maybe I shouldn't ask questions I don't want to know the answers to.
I’m not really sure what this has to do with tutoring but it seems that you have a pretty specific opinion on the future with AI. Like anything, some things will be better. Some may be perceived as “worse” and we’ll adapt overall.
wild! i'm afraid of a Big Brother future (similar to "1984") - including AI, robots and drones! China already does that, why not in the Western world, in a situation like pandemic years or attacks on democracy! :/ not to mention Terminator variation to ending humanity; AI is becoming more intelligent, self-sufficient - while society becomes more dumb and numb to these rapid developments! who will control these technologies (for now, they are the Magnifiscent 7 - plus minus few) , will dictate the future of humanity! and, until now, the future looks pretty damn scary! :/
I don’t know what regulation will do, especially when some of our leaders (at least in the US) are some of the dumbest and generally terrible people possible
oh, guys, I'm afraid of all these things because they're already used in the war in Ukraine. Autonomous FPV drones with computer vision already hunt for targets on the battlefield. Future is much closer than you can imagine.
This AI demo is very disappointing. With billion of dollars spent on GPU, this is the best application they can come up with? Not impressed at all. AI is supposed to be like another industrial revolution transforming business and industries. Think of AI for expediting drug development process for biotech companies. Think of AI for streamlining assembly line for factories. That is the future of AI. Instead, we got an app for people to make fun video from text. Think how much money spent to power & cool these power hungry AI data centers so AI can help some kids do home work?
Well what I would say is that these demos are specific to the areas that these companies service which is the front end consumer. Many other companies are doing the things you talked about but didn’t have live demo days just release. Watch the 60 minutes segment on Jensen Huang and they show some examples in there. Lastly the “be my eyes” technology and : or the Google vision tech is the type of stuff you would need to use in robots to analyze and reason as to what needs to happen next 🤷🏻♂️
This video is amazing! Thanks for keeping us updated.
No worries!
Thanks Matt. Looking forward to your thoughts on Meta!
I just got the system upgrade today on my samsung for AI live language. I was hoping for Tagalog, but i guess i will have to wait...
This is crazy 😮
This was a pretty cool video!!!
Thanks!

Yes was wondering who would mention Johnny 5 first lol

I didn’t see it live but I saw the clips 😂
AI is cool and amazing… until it is monetized like the zillions of other services we can't seem to live without 😱
What is your opinion on Rivian stock?
It is a buy
I’ve never dug into them so I don’t have anything intelligent to say about it
It's great if you love risk, and hate money.

well, speaking of redundant jobs, content like yours is exactly the type of content that AI can already produce, within seconds

This kind of technology is disturbing. Is not right. Technology that mimics human voice or behavior should be at least regulated.
