Yes!! I honestly cannot do it without the remote anymore 😂 and congrats into getting into med school!! It took me a while to adjust and I’m still trying to figure it out but it does get easier with time ☺️
It’s really finicky!! If it comes up as a controller don’t click it wait to see if it changes to keyboard if not connect it to the controller then click remove then try connecting again until you see keyboard. It might take a few try’s :(

Can you make a video that shows what keys on the 8Bitdo correspond to the different options on Anki? I assigned mine the same as yours, but Im not sure what option at the bottom I'm selecting.
Are you asking like what 1,2,3,4, spacebar, etc on a typical keyboard is used for on anki? If so: 1 is again, 2 is hard, 3 is good 4 is easy. Spacebar is flip card and also good. I set my button B on the remote to spacebar instead of 3 so I can use that button to flip card and then press it again for good if I get the card right! It's honestly just what you prefer! Let me know if that cleared it up or if you need me to explain it better.

Have you tried using it on a different app? Like if you open notes and press a button and see if it types out that number? If that’s not working I would make sure the keys are set up correctly and maybe reset Anki. Let me know if you still have trouble!!

i just had this problem and after weeks of annoyance, realized i wasn't pressing R+start at the same time so it kept coming up as a controller instead of keyboard! so if you press R first and keep holding R while pressing start, then it should come up as keyboard!

I have the remote connected to my iPad and X, A, B, Y are programmed accordingly.... but when I do Anki, the keys just move through the flashcards even though the keys are mapped.
im using anking and trying to figure out what the way to click "see additional resources is", i usually click on it. How do I know what this codes for in terms of keyboard letter?

Did you make sure to press start and R when you turn it on? That is the keyboard setup. It sometimes takes me up to like 10 times of just disconnecting and reconnecting 😭
@@RylieJu yes I did. It seems it doesn’t work that well with windows devices or at least not with my old one. I recently switched to a Mac and luckily it works now but if I hadn’t been making that switch I don’t think it would’ve worked.

I had basically watched most of the windows videos that were on CZcams (not many) and since none of them helped I got desperate and started watching Mac videos. I think honestly they just didn’t manufacture it well to work with non Mac devices. I’m lucky I was switching anyway but hopefully they can make a better product that works for all devices! Have you tried seeing if it is connected to your MacBook at all? Like try opening up a blank note and see if it types any keys out. If it does then try updating anki! If you still have problems please email me and I can try to help! rylieju@gmail.com

If you have a mac then remove the connected device. Try pairing the remote with the start button and R while holding for 5 seconds.
