Did you have any issues with adapting the stock antenna? I purchased a universal adaptor, but it physically wouldn't fit into the stock connector.
The stock radio has been mutilated so I had to rewire a lot, you might need a different kit. The big black wire with a 90 degree angle ending with a silver pin is the radio, should just plug in

Hi！ Thanks for the video, I just connected red; yellow; black from stereo to my car red; yellow; black. But the stereo won’t power on, can you help check if I did correct connection? Thank you!
Hey Lawrence! It’s hard for me to diagnose without being in person but sometimes the color won’t match up. The red wire is typically the power wire, the yellow wire is for memory backup, and the black wire is the ground wire on a car stereo. I think in the video I connected the yellow stereo wire to the red wire inside the dash… would have to rewatch and check
What color was that reverse wire at 6:50? Looks purple and red but I can’t tell.
I think it was black… I don’t remember 😬
@@ChrisBassettTV no worries, I found out luckily there’s a wiring diagram on top of the head unit. For my unit it’s red/white. Unfortunately I still haven’t gotten the head unit to go into reverse mode though 😔

You have to turn off "led animation" to change colors.
Doesn’t that version of the Boss receiver head come with power to provide for the backup camera?
Maybe if you were putting it in a newer vehicle… It had connections but I installed it on 2007

What does the wiring harness interface or do
Connects car to stereo… older cars need a wire harness to be able to connect with newer or aftermarket stereo… basically plug in and done… you can hardwire the stereo system just more difficult and more prone to problems
my radio only turns on when I turn my headlights on do you have any idea why

Question, the swc input wire. What’s that for? I can’t find an answer.
Hey Frederick! Swc is “steering control wheel” wire. If your steering wheel has buttons to control the stereo (volume, radio channel, etc) you connect that wire. I didn’t have the option on the car so I left it.

Like what did you connect the parking brake input to? I’ve read that you can just ground it to bypass it, but I’ve also read that that won’t work.

mine wont boot?? no standby power or anything.
this isnt my first time wiring anything in my car and i know i have illumination, power and ground all connected properly. theres a few stray wires that i dont think i can use but otherwise i cant figure out why im not at least getting something to light up. ive even tried grounding the parking brake
Hey Skater! You wiring stereo to a Pontiac G5? Wiring was tricky for me but eventually got it. Go back and watch the wiring part again… have to have the blue/pink wires to get power along with yellow, red, gray etc….. it’s been awhile but I had the ground, constant, accessory all connected but I didn’t get power until I connected those last two
