There are similarities about Mexican and Filipino moms, such as yelling at us when we get sick. Most of them tiktok vids I can relate to. Maybe because of the Mexican Galleon and Spanish Colonization in our country, that's why our parents are so strict.

Modern day Spaniards come from Africa and the Middle East and they don't look like the Irish or English or Dutch. Man, I never tried to play sick and still had to go on one if the worst days I felt. Parents didn’t believe me and I passed out at school and my parents had to come and pick me up.
My parents are both from Mexico & I grew up with all the strict norms in our culture one thing I’m changing in my own family with my kids whether they are a boy or girl they will both learn how to cook & clean for themselves, my son is 3 and he helps me with laundry he loves to be my helper. My mom does everything for my oldest brother to this day. That’s not right.
I'm from the balkans, in my culture it's the same. I honestly relate to most tiktoks lol. Literally, here boys get praised for breathing and somethimes girls are really mistreated. It makes me so mad my blood boils

Oh well, I thought it was alright using the term Hispanic since Mexican speaks Spanish. Thank you for pointing out that I have much more to learn.
In my family when any of us make a party and have a center piece we do it so the guest take it. Honestly it's a compliment to us because we put the work into making the center pieces and we like seeing our hard work being admired and so much that the guest wanted to take it. I mean when I made some cente pieces that took me months to make and almost no one took any i felt sad because it took so long and no one took any. I well took the center pieces to them.

My microwave has a defrost by weight option, and I always used it! My parents claimed they could tell the difference, but they couldn't! Besides after taking a microbiology course in college it turns out it's more hygienic to defrost in the microwave than to leave in the counter for hours! In your face Mexican mom's!
