I just kinda hate how her spy life ruined KC's relationships, it is realistic, but I just wanted her to end up with somebody, because is not as if she was above love or not looking for a relationship, she wanted it, but is just every relationship ended, with Brett it was the whole enemies to lovers trope, but they did it fine, he became a traitor for her and the he had to leave, then the others who she basically couldn't be truthful to and that caused tension, I kinda wanted the guy who figured out that she was a spy to eventually train to be one as well.
I do like though that it was her job that got in the way and they just didn’t make her standoffish and above ships

@@Givebackthescarf interesting in depth analisys, like I got the life work balance thing, like yeah it is definitely realistic as i said, but by tv show magic of escapism I wanted something to work out for her in that regard even a flashfoward or something, you know show that eventually she did manage to find that balance and someone who liked her, like I am glad the show tried to show the hardships of it, but it may just send the message of having to choose to forever be lonely for her spy life, like I am not certian kids would have understood, yeah, she is not ready to date as a spy and deal with those preassures right away, just a ray of hope that she could date if she wanted to in the future.
no because the way i would have their scenes on a LOOP like it was unhealthy, i was OBSESSED. and that season 2 scene in virtual reality i remember broke me, because it was so long after their goodbye and kc was still in love with him, she was still thinking about running away with him like, i was so happy you don't understand. but I do appreciate the show for ending it the way it did, with kc on her own and in therapy like no other disney show was doing it like that, and it had a lot to do with zendaya's involvement. and i agree, they def found each other again later in life

This ship has so much wasted potential! Imagine a whole season of Brett vs KC shenanigans! The Other Side was probably the best episode,and they only gave us it once! Or even Brett being welcomed back because, you know, children brainwashed by their parents shouldn’t be punished for breaking away from them, but they can’t date because the organization no longer allows it! Or Brett popping up periodically as he tries to figure out who he is away from his father, so he appears as both a friend and an enemy! So many good options , and Disney used none of them.
It’s kinda hard to explore other options when the actor who played the guy has left your show. Ross Butler wanted to go do 13 Reasons Why, that’s why their ship and his character ended

You should do Jack and Kim from Kickin It! You'd have to rewatch the show for it though because I recently discovered there are quite a few hints and moments between them throughout the show before there's any feelings declaration (aka during the period where they were solely "friends" and nothing else was going on). Rewatching the show is really fun though, a lot of the jokes are actually pretty funny lmao.

I think their regular chemistry and the actors are the main thing that makes this relationship work, because even if they weren't spies or enemies or dating their best friends, you would still like their relationship. That’s exactly how I felt about Chad and Sonny, and they were so cute together, yet it sucks that Chad had to be Chad and ruin their relationship. I really loved his nickname for Sonny, and his relationship with the rest of the Randoms. In general, besides his narcissism, he was a funny character.

About the toxicity of kidnapping or holding gun at her arguements: I wanted to add to what you said that they are on equal footing, yes KC was suprised but she is prepared for such yhings, trained, she knows what to do, and with the gunpoint, she wasn't even nervous, it's no really roxic because none of them affected...... well, toxicly? by it, they both cared for each other and knew that and knew that was their world. Yes that's the genre of the show and it makes for such a good couple, I think "toxic" might vary from people to people and nothing is 100% "healthy" anyway, flaws make us and our relationships more endearing! Mostly everyone loves enemies to lovers stories. Anyway they are really cute what a chemistry dang, I would've hated this show for it if I ever watched it haha.

Also, KC isn't so easily manipulated, she's far stronger mentally than Harley Quinn, and she knows that her family needs her, she knows her values and Brett really started to change for the better since he started falling in love with KC, and realized his dad and everything _The Other Side_ taught him was wrong. Did the Joker ever had a moment of self-awareness to wake up and realize how dangerous he was for Harley Quinn and for the whole world? No, he never had that moment of enlightment, he never accepted his toxicity and evil deeds, either because he was too far gone to be redeemed or rehabilitated or because he was just straight up too insane to even be fully aware of his own madness and insanity, considering his behavior. Has Brett ever shown utterly psychopathic traits, zero empathy and zero remorse? No, he's actually shown he's capable of changing for the better and becoming the best version of himself, he's not too far gone down the rabbit hole.

I have never seen most of the Disney shows you cover but I just like the way you analyze them so I watch 😄
I think that it all depends on character's behaviour and context. Like, for example whether or not girl(in this case) is actually scared/treats the threat seriously and K.C. does not, which telegraphs that she knows she's not in real danger from the dude. And dude's behaviour too, he allows her to give him the lip, and just sort of half-heartedly makes threats. So we the audice know he's not going to do anything at the end of the day. Put that against...let's say After, where despite Tessa saying 'Hardin won't hurt me, I know it' and despite the author thinking that this is ok, bc of bad writing it doesn't follow with WHAT WE ACTUALLY SEE. Because when they're arguing Tessa actually FLINTCHES when Hardin raises his hand to run it through his hair. Flinching is an involuntary reaction. Which shows, that despite what she claims, Tessa is actually scared of sudden gestures her boyfriend makes in anger. Similarily, Ana from FSoG flinches or even steps back to get away from Christian, and she becomes meek and small when she's in his presence, in order not to trigger his anger. So even tho the authors of these books, try to argue that the heroine is not really in danger, the FC's behaviour tells us otherwise.

Honestly strikes me as a reverse-Mason where he started cute and normal and got more problematic, here it started a little iffy with the tropes and he consistently became a better person with cute moments.
