The problem with making winning the be all and end all when it comes to who's better or who's worse is that it assumes that every player is on a level playing field, and they're not. Tracy McGrady and CRmelo Anthony didn't win because neither one of them played on a team that was good enough to beat Shaq and Kobe's Lakers or Tim Duncan's Spurs. It had nothing to with their limitations. If you look at every decade since the 80's two or three guys win all the chips. In the 80s Magic and Bird split 8 out of the available 10 championships between them. In the 90s Jordan and Hakeem split 8 of the available 10 championships between them. In the 2000's, Shaq Kobe amd Duncan split 7 of the available 10 championships between them. In the 2010's Lebron, Steph and Kawhi split 8 of the available 10 championships between them. Most guys lose regardless of how talented or how flawed they are because their teams just aren't good enough to compete. The overwhelming majority of all-time great players will walk away with no championships and that's just the way it is.

The league will always have players like Carmelo Anthony, James Harden, Alex English, Adrian Dantley, George Gervin that will give you solid one sided high volume scoring but you won’t win with them unless you have the right pieces that they trust.

Thank you Marz. I watched Melo a lot, some in Denver and a lot in NY. Tremendous player, could score with the best of the them. But he was selfish, not a willing passer and a ball stopper. He could play good defend and get 10 assists on any given night but that wasn’t his focus and it hurt his career and team success a lot

Carmelo is the most overrated superstar in NBA history. He's the only superstar that has 0 insane team success, 0 insane individual succes, 0 insane regular season accolades, 0 insane postseason accolades that is glorified.
