  • Some people asked for a how to about installing this part (# 06J145220A) so despite being completely unnecessary here it is.
    WARNING - NEVER work on your vehicle on the ground without jackstands... your shitty spare tire jack is nicknamed "The Widow Maker" for a reason, it's for emergency use only. DO NOT get under your car unless it's properly supported.

    It does apply to the GLI as well as the Tiguan, CC, and Passat anything with a CCTA or CBFA 2.0T TSI engine with a stock turbo.
    Video is not available for download.
    No it's not for audi only... it says "Volkswagen" in the title.
    There is only one axle shield, it's on the passenger side axle where the exhaust goes over it.

    Vw made a part to correct the fault but wont admit there is a problem. My local vw dealer had never seen the part before and asked if i was aware of it being fitted, even offered to charge to remove it for me.
    Edit, i explained why i fitted it and the main dealer asked me for the part number.

    this is a temporary solution to the problem, the actuator rod will still play and eat up the saddle, you need to drill out the rod and rod connections and make new fasteners from stronger metal ... or buy a repair kit, which will also start rattling later))

    The funny thing about this is, it is a repair approved and recognized by VW, and is covered by Volkswagen as long as the vehicle is covered under new car warranty. You just performed bulletin 2024061 and got paid .40 TU for it in 3 minutes. Now, when someone at the emissions lab sees you do it in 3 minutes one-handed while holding a camera phone, they'll say, "hey, let's save the company a few bucks at cut the time to .10 TU.

It sounds like a buzzing or motor sound just below the steering wheel with a slight vibration when sound is made. The noise started a year ago. I recently had the timing chain tensioner done but still get the noise. You can hear the sound on my youtube page with the search> GTI MKV TSI startup noise by cruise4. Ryan, heard the buzzing in my '13 Golf R, dealership said it could be fixed on most cars (tiguans, GTIs etc.), because of the 4motion system and/or because my motor was slightly different, that there was no fix for mine. Is that actually true? or did they just not want to do the work. Thanks

    • @aguyagirlandatrail
      @aguyagirlandatrail  Před 9 lety

      4-Motion has nothing to do with it, it's a pain in the ass on the 4-Motion cars but it applies all the same. But the Golf R doesn't have a CCTA or CBFA 2.0T TSI engine, it has a 2.0T FSI based engine (the horrible problem prone belt driven 2.0T engine that has been phased out and replaced with TSI) with stronger internals and K04 turbo. Instead of using the much better, newer, engine design, they took a ready to go outdated engine from Audi that was spec'd for higher output than VW's BPY variant and dropped it the new R. So long story short, it has a different turbo, it wont fit.

    • @biz4twobiz463
      @biz4twobiz463 Před 2 lety +2

      ... that appears to be a much different issue. This is simply a wastegate rattle (it's annoying to hear). Engine shaking sounds like you might be experiencing ignition issues (IE: misfires)

    • @davidobutt
      @davidobutt Před rokem +1

      Engine mount can have play and an easy swap to fix it.
      Or if yours is a dsg it could be the dmf(dual mass flywheel)
      But i had the shaking issue which wasn't the dmf and was due to a leak from the electrical connection on the mechatronic where 5he fluid was too low.
      In my case the mechatronic being low on fluid caused a solenoid to get stuck. Replaced the mechatronic and no shaking anymore.
      I did the cheap ebay option of getting a mechatronic from a blown motor. Hope this helps
