    Picked up mine a week ago and have been thoroughly enjoying it. I am already heavily invested in Flex products at the moment and haven’t had any issues. I think people look at Flex and automatically think because it’s not Milwaukee, Dewalt or Makita it’s crap or cheap. But time and time again they have proven that they are just as good if not better when it comes to their products. Time will tell how each company’s products do but the worst thing to happen in the industry is for their to be a monopoly or stagnation in the market. Challenge breeds innovation

      Andrew you really hit the nail on the head with this comment! I own all tool brands and have really been impressed with Flex. People are so closed off when it comes to new products in most cases.

      @@Tre16 Late in the game? Milwaukee didn’t originate modular storage systems. There is always gunna be company’s releasing new item under their line. Don’t forget that Flex has a been a company for almost 100 years, two years earlier than Milwaukee and Dewalt. They introduced the angle grinder to the market. So would we say that any other company that introduced an angle grinder after Flex is late to the game? No. Now I will say everyone is entitled to their opinion and is free to spend their money the way they want to. I think it just helps to do some research before throwing the baby out with the bath water

      @@ferndogg84 You mentioned you are heavily invested in Flex. Did you change over from another brand? How is the difference between the 2 if so?
      I've seen a lot of good comments on the Flex line, since they came out. I'm heavily invested in Milwaukee M12 and M18 with some Makita 18v sprinkled in. As for corded tools, I use Dewalt, Wen, Kobalt, Ridgid, and Porter Cable. I'm a hobbyist, so I look for the best bang for my buck, and always looking at the new innovative stuff coming out.

    • @ferndogg84
      @ferndogg84 Před rokem +3

      @@jasonmartin7137 I was on Dewalts platform before moving to Flex. I found when I moved to Flex the tools felt more solid and didn’t feel like toys in my hand well using them. I have used the heck out of my Flex tools. I find they are on the same level as Milwaukee fuel line when it comes to performance with some tools from either company going back and forth. Currently I have their Impact driver, hammer drill, rotary hammer, multi-tool, grinder, inline circular saw, Stack Pack, vacuum as well as their fan. I work as a Glazer and do ACM panel installation as a reference point.
      My recommendation on whether someone should switch depends on how invested someone is in another battery platform. My boss was on Dewalt and he was needing to get new batteries because his either cracked or were not holding charge. So he decided to try Flex and started with the impact because they had a battery promotion at the time and he was seeing my impact just set fasteners with ease. Suffice to say he has their grinder and saw now. Once his Jigsaw and Rotary hammer go he will grab those.
      The problem I see is everyone is saying that Flex is trash just because they are not a company that has had a cordless platform for 15-20 years (which they have a 18v platform). I personally think they are a great company with a killer warranty, strong/sturdy tools and battery technology that is going to push companies to do better when it comes to innovating. Give them some time and they will have all the missing tools they don’t have currently. They could release every tool that’s out on the market but they want to release products that are thought out ie anti-vibe on Sawzall, anti-shock on impact wrench and Turbo on Drills.

    My honest opinion as a contractor and plumber: Milwaukee packout wins.
    1- I can build the entire rear of a van with packout and because of the latching button being in front I can easily remove a container that is stacked right next to another container. Flex requires room to fit your hands to pull a tab. You loose half the space because you forfeit an entire stack of storage in a van. This is just an example.
    2- Milwaukee offers 6x as many items for the unit and their tools are also proven reliable and rugged on commercial job sites.

    It's very heavy and bulky. The Stanley made a 3 piece rolling toolbox where; the bottom flips open, drawers middle, top tool box. You can access all your tools. Only problem was it was a bit light duty , and a bit small. Had it been more durable and slightly larger was the best for going in and out of jobs and trucks. They also need to be easy to unstack and carry up stairs. These are like your staying permanent on a job. Home remodeling you in and out ...

      Mike I own all brands of tools. This is a low budget comment, providing zero value. The Flex system is a great unit.

      @@the_general_contractor Yea, General contractors are handymen in all trades, masters of none. “I have tools from all brands” quote offers zero value…
      Dewalt, Makita and Milwaukee all put out a particular tool that beats the others. You could include Bosch, Walter and Metabo, Hilti etc, etc.
      Lowes is not well known for selling top of the line tools, something I fully expect for them to sell something like Flex brand or Craftsmen. B grade at best.

      @@smirage22 metabo was sold, just like vice grip and Wiss. They are not considered high end no more. Quality has slipped. Even walters quality slipped on one of its tools over the last 20 years. That Flex too is not well refined as Milwaukee packout.

      Flex has some really cool features. I agree on the fact that the Packout system has been a hit!
