5 acres for 100K? OMG!! I live 30 minutes out of the edge of Toronto.. you can buy a quarter acre for 1 million. If you really search .
@@snowbird6855 acreage in Texas can be cheaper than most areas due to the abundance of available land for agriculture and homesteading. Land can even lower than their price stated above. Oklahoma and Arkansas has great prices too.

This couple is incredibly smart financially. Instead of blowing money on a fancy wedding and material goods, they have invested wisely AND paid off debt from their first home sale. I have no doubt that they will achieve all of their goals. Kudos to both of you!

They are very wise in how they have allocated their money. They have their heads screwed on straight and I mentored they may want to rethink the barn-o-minimum which will require by definition- more stuff! Minimalism is less stiff, more experiences!

@@yessialtamirano9787I feel you, mama. My tiny was almost exactly same size. It’s a far cry from the McMansions others get. But more importantly it fits the legal definition of tiny and means you can, don’t always, but can run into issues on the legal/building end of it. You’re both making great choices. Your values shine through and I hope that you get to enjoy a sweet and simple life bc of it.

I couldn't agree with your dad more! I spent more on my prom ($1,000) than I did on my wedding (~$800, including airfare). We're still married, 27 years later. 🙂

This tiny home is my favorite so far. The custom features and the height make it seem more comfortable than most others I have seen. The wider model would be easier to adapt to.

I have to agree , it’s the best I’ve seen so far and it’s a home I can see myself in as it’s as accommodating as a large home and yet it’s smaller than an average home .

This is a really nice tiny home. Like the main/ primary bedroom is on the 1st floor and they can walk in it.
I can't for the life me figure out why the small cabin I'm getting is 480 Sq foot but there's no place for a bedroom.
I do like the size and layouts of these park model tiny homes. I'd really enjoy seeing more like this. Especially in the 400 square ft size.
If you don't already follow them, Recreational Resort Cottages have a great channel for park model tours. They also sell single sections and larger modular homes but the majority of their uploads are the 400 sq ft park model tours, including this model.
Yes it is much more realistic version of “small living”. One that could work over a longer span than the 180 sf tinies

5 acres for under $100k is good for the Hill Country. Great house. I just bought a 5th wheel that works for me now. In a couple of years I'm planning to find property in the Hill Country and get a tiny house. They're living my life 30 years before I get to!

390 sqft lower level - tiny. It looks like about 150 sqft loft - tiny.

See kids when 2 people work together toward a goal, nothing is impossible!! None of this man pays all the bills, and woman looks pretty and spends, spends, spends!! There's a reason we have a 70% divorce rate. I think these 2 got the blueprint down how it should be!!❤❤

I have looked at a lot of tiny houses because I live in a very small house myself... this is the best tiny house I have seen...And I really think these two young people are to be commended for not spending a lot of money on a wedding but investing in their marriage by having such a lovely place to live.. kudos to you all!.

So glad you realized the temptation to spend your youth away. We are in our 70’s and have been frugal but so much of our youth income was wasted. We are comfortably retired now, congratulations and best wishes ❤

This couple should consider rainwater collection, solar, and propane for their future house. Turn water well into windmill and stock tank. What a sweet pooch. What a great start in life!!!
I appreciate how pragmatic these two are.. It wasn’t about how small they could possibly go, it is about what they actually need for two adults for several years without having to reconfigure a single room into all uses.
It is easy to imagine their parties and gatherings where guests can spread out. The main floor bedroom really was wise. I’d have gone for a skinny fridge for more counter space, but that is about it. Kudos to them!
This is probably the only “tiny house” I’d be comfortable in. Has all the features I’d want and I’d focus on building an outdoor paradise to spend time in with the dogs. Good fencing, a gate, garden, shed, that house, I’d be set. But, I wish someone did on site concrete block tiny homes.

Adore this couple and they did it the smart way, JP and then build a home. The party can come later or never....I would rather have the home. This home looks so nice and the amenities are all there. I so want to do this, the exterior look for me is sooo important and this makes the home look a lot larger than the sq footage. Beautiful land and the barn, LOVE IT ALL. You guys are SO wise. Always OWN your own land. The main *Problem* with Tiny Homes is that most end up renting the land. That option never made ANY sense to me. Now you're all set to be as independent as possible. Good for you.

Beautiful home and love the lay out. Big windows for nature and sun are forgotten today in a lot of designs. Very important for humans well being to be connected with outdoors daily. Sun in the windows can heat the home in winter and bring up mood.
Moonlight at night is also needed and beautiful to see each night. In many conventional homes, we are closed in and hardly see the sun, stars or moon at night while in our homes.

This couple is so smart. Blowing the equivalent of a down payment for a house or for a cash purchase for a tiny home, on a wedding - is a less than brilliant way to start a life together.
This is a lovely small home. I love that it's on a foundation. I love that they have land with it. Clearly there's a lot of open land in Texas and I hope they keep it affordable because god knows people need it.

There is a lot of land here in Texas but over 90% of it is privately owned. As for affordable, yeah that's been changing since all these out of state carpet baggers from California and northerners started migrating here like some locusts 20 years ago. They are driving up the price of everything, not just housing. Auto insurance has gone up, the cost of vehicle registration has gone up, property taxes etc. Traffic on the roads and freeways sucks thanks to the influx of people here. To top it off, many of those carpet baggers bring their stupid politics with them too. The same politics which resulted in them wanting to leave their home states to begin with.
@@jeepinintexas6215 I'm sorry to hear all those things are going up. The problem is your local and state govt. It shouldn't matter who's moving into the state, that shouldn't be an excuse to increase costs on the little guy via higher fees and taxes. Those people can pay for their own needs via their own fees and taxes at the old rates - there's no external need to increase costs.
When it comes to funding public needs and agencies, govt has a choice - they can put the majority of the load on the rich and big business, or they can put a disproportionate amount on the poor and middle class. It should be clear which way is right.
I suggest you blame your govt. It's their fault, not new residents. They are the ones responsible, they make the decisions. It's a bipartisan issue. Both parties are mostly one party behind the scenes - they serve the 1%, meaning the very rich and Big Business, and those groups are always looking for a way to cut their tax burden while slugging an unfair load onto average people. It's been going on in this country forever. The only way to fix this permanently is to have new political parties that aren't bought and sold, that put regular people first. These are called Left parties, but none are big enough to easily compete with the Red-blue machine at the moment. If you can't tell I'm on the Left, because why wouldn't I be?? Voting red or blue is nonsense for most people - they stand for rule by and for the Rich where average people don't matter. They also support other things I don't support, but when it comes to money matters, they are not doing right by the majority of people and they have no intention to.
The Left puts average people first in all policies- the GOP or Dems never will. Dems will sometimes do a few positive things - but usually not more than token acts.
Don't believe what they say when it comes to either party- believe what they do and who owns them, and it's always the big money. If their lips are moving there's a 99% chance they're lying or intentionally obscuring facts.

loved it immediately, especially the tree swing, that is one of the things that will definitely be on my future property, swings!! you don't have to be a kid to enjoy a swing.

Before I start you guys have a cute pup. You guys are doing everything right, so glad the hubby came on broad, you guys are absolutely on the right track.
Your home looks so big inside and out, that bedroom is Hugh, the bathroom and kitchen is lovely, love the big windows. The plants give so much life to the home, the loft is spacious. You walk inside you don't know you are in a tiny. The patio was a touch of genius. You guys got a pretty good deal on the land and utilities installation.

Tiny houses are cool. I like watching to see how they made storage work. I couldn’t live in one though. I am a crafter. I sew, crochet, paint, DIY old furniture, scrapbook, embroider, cross stitch, and want to quilt. I have an entire basement full of craft supplies. I like to entertain. We live in the northeast so outside space wouldn’t work in winter. Too many bugs in summer… we are subtropical here. It’s HUMID. We need AC. (We also have outside allergies) I like having big spaces so kids have space to dance and jump and have fun in the house, as well as having space for pets and lots of people, especially at holidays. I need a table that seats at least 12. One day I plan to have my own workshop for all my woodworking tools. The garage isn’t big enough. Lol The barndominium sounds AWESOME.
That made me happy seeing young people so clean, happy, normal & creative,.....God Bless you both.
A brilliant use of the small space available! As others have already mentioned, it's a good layout for younger folks but would be a challenge for the elderly because of the loft bedroom. Still, the staircase is much safer than other designs I've seen in this size range.
Very well designed. I'm impressed by how it was made to grow into. I'd love to have something like this after I retire.
I love that she says living tiny made her rethink what she buys. I've been trying to get to that mind set, but don't feel like I'm fully there yet.
I live in just under 1200sq feet, with my mom. Unfortunately, she's a thrift store junkie, so that's another challenge.
But we are working on it, by having our first yard sale. I'm hoping that my mom will let me donate anything that's left, after 1 to 2 more yard sales.
Someday I would love to convert our detached garage into a studio apartment. Will just need to get a storage shed just big enough to store just the essentials (tools, freezer, and a few totes).
Having a lot of "stuff" is stressful.
I'm constantly trying to convince a friend to let go of stuff... for some, it's a challenge. For others, it can be impossible.
I wonder if she will stick with less stuff, after she's in a 4k sq foot house?
They really did find a beautiful piece of land. I certainly would enjoy living there.
